World Cup LD

David Luiz is the Nic Cage of football. It's so hard to tell if he's actually good or not. And just when you think you've figured him out, he does something like that.

I'd love to see how many fouls Fernandinho has committed so far as I don't think he's been booked? Last 2 games the only noticeable thing I've seen him do is kick folk over.

He'll surely miss the final too, should they make it there? Which is pretty much unthinkable without him.

That's pretty rough for him and Brazil at large. Without him and Silva in the semi surely spells the end of their run but you can never tell with the luck they've had so far.

At least this is Neymar's first World Cup rather than his last or that would be incredibly heart-breaking.

I feel bad for Neymar, but I don't feel bad for Brazil. They don't deserve to be carried to the final.

It's more the country than the team I was meaning but I should have clarified. That flyover collapse was pretty dam tragic and I can understand their anger at the irony of part of the World Cup's legacy ended up causing severe harm to the people themselves. I doubt that winning the World Cup would totally quash the anger in the country but it may help a little.

On a lighter note, someone (Loveless or Barbosa I think) commented that the player's video intros of them turning during the announcement of the lineups was ripe to be memed, and its happened.

Looking at the fantasy league as it is now, it looks like anyone below Gelgarin doesn't have much chance to win unless they get a sheer amount of luck.

But then again, I said no-one had a chance to catch up to rdarar and I somehow managed it, so take that with a grain of salt if you want.

So my brothers and sisters of America, are more people talking about (and seem interested in) real football after the success USA has achieved in the World Cup, or is the consensus still inclined towards the footless anal alternative?

It was very much a reflex hit which probably suits Higuain more than when he has too much time. Kind deflection into his stride too but he fairly cracked it in.

It's starting to feel like Brazil vs Argentina is an inevitability, regardless of how unimpressive they've both been.

It occurs to me that after Brazil won the trophy the 3rd time in 1970, that trophy was given to them and retired. I'm assuming FIFA aren't doing the same thing again but if they were, Brazil, Germany & Argentina have all won the modern trophy twice.
