World Cup LD

I still rate Javi Martinez as the best holding mid in the world. It would help if they played him there.

Supersport's Neil Andrews is calling this a massive upset, but is it really? Following that Dutch spanking, a draw would probably an acceptable result for Spain now.

A goal there and we may have seen Spain just say fuck it and walk off. That motivation they had at the start of the second half has gone out the window.

Cesc should've started. It's frustrating seeing him not used properly by Del Bosque. Cesc was the one who got the only assist during Spain's win in the last World Cup final. And he still doesn't get the recognition he deserves.

Cesc went back to Barcelona about three years too early, especially if he wanted to play in the centre of midfield.

Playing out of position his whole time at Barca has ruined his reputation with Spain.

Torres is fucked. Too many games before he was 20. Same thing happened to Owen, Kluivert etc. If Rooney is still a good player at 30, he'll owe it to Moyes not overplaying home when he was a teenager.

Well that's not the way you want a great team to end..

Chile vs Holland will be good, neither will want Brazil. More interesting though if Mexico steal 1st.

They may not want to play them but I don't think either team would fear them. Holland - Brazil would be tight but if Chile played the same way they did tonight then they could definitely put Brazil out which would only boost their confidence all the more.

You can add Anelka and Pato to that list. And Wilshere might be well on his way, too.

Speaking of injury, Ronaldo may not play again if he doesn't get a particularly long rest. Either way, it's the end of one of the greatest players in the world.

One of my favourite football facts is that Ruud van Nistelrooy and Patrick Kluivert were born on exactly the same day. Which is amazing, because Kluivert was basically finished before van Nistelrooy got to Manchester United.
