Why do you think HHH did not return for the ROYAL RUMBLE???

The HEEL JuiceLee

Pre-Show Stalwart
Everyone thought for sure that HHH would return at the 2011 ROYAL RUMBLE.Looks as if everyone is wrong.
so i ask
1.why do you think he didnt return?

2.when do you think he will return?

He didn't return because he has one match left in his career.

I think he returns on a raw after elimination chamber

I was expecting him as well. Maybe they didnt think it would make sense just to toss him in there if he wasnt going to win.

Simple.

Why use all your magic tricks in one night. They didn't want to overload the Royal Rumble. This is a major trick up the WWE's sleeve. Triple H returning tonight at the rumble makes no sense what so ever, it was expected but it was better that it didn't happen. A return as big as Triple H's should be given a show based solely on his return as it is really eagerly awaited and it is inevitable that Triple H will carry some bad intentions towards Sheamus.

Knowing Vince, they probably pulled the plug on his return simply because everyone was expecting it...ruining the surprise factor.

For those who keep saying "he's only got one match left", I have no idea where you're getting this idea from. He's the kind of guy who doesn't NEED to wrestle on a weekly basis to keep a fued going, theoretically, he can just have 15-20 matches per YEAR, and he'd still be one of the most relevant superstars in the WWE.

I can see him returning on Raw instead of a PPV just to re-inforce the idea of "anything can happen on live-television"

When was there a rule that HHH could only return at the Rumble? That's almost the generic return anymore so why do it there? HHH returning wouldn't have meant much as it would be exactly the same thing they've always done. In short, they didn't do it for what could have been multiple reasons.

1. He isn't ready yet.

2. He didn't want to yet.

3. He didn't want to steal Alberto's moment.

There are other possible answers too. This isn't a big deal at all.

HHH did not return for the Rumble because...he wasn't booked to return for the Rumble. There really isn't much spot for him on Raw right now anyway, and wedging him in just to get him at Wrestlemania seems stupid. Who would he fight? Orton? Cena? No thank you, I'd actually like to purchase 'Mania this year. Sheamus? Waaaay too little, waaay too soon. There were no hints towards him returning tonight, so I don't understand either the sentiment that it was expected he return tonight or the need for this thread.

Like everyone else, I just knew we'd see him as the last man to enter. After thinking further it does make sense to hold off at least until the Rumble is over because IMO:

1.) The main events of both RAW and Smackdown! are pretty much in the books, Miz Vs. Cena on RAW and Edge Vs. Del Rio on Smackdown!. There would be no point in holding his return off for MONTHS just to kill his momentum by having him return to what would no doubt be a HUGE pop only to have him eliminated.

2.) It's also pretty much a given that he will return to feud with Sheamus since he's basically doing nothing but putting John Morrison over every week. Since there should be some kind of segment to make Sheamus stand out in order to set up a new angle, hopefully there is something in the works over the next few weeks to get Sheamus back on the ball and surprise us with a HHH return.........although HHH showing up ANYWHERE at ANY TIME besides backstage would be a surprise at this point!

I have to admit, being the HHH mark that I am, I REALLY did want to see him come back. I even clung to the last minutes of the show thinking that the ONE match HHH has been in since his surgery was against Del Rio in NYC. I was hoping Del Rio would be in the middle of his post-match celebration only to have HHH's music hit and watch him come out and destroy Del Rio and take the Rumble. But again, why do that if you're setting up HHH Vs. Sheamus when Sheamus isn't even in the title picture at the moment?

I DO hope they do something with him soon because quite frankly I'm getting to the point that I don't care if he returns or not!

Like a lot of things about the Royal Rumble, some people are upset because what they thought should or was going to happen didn't turn out to be what actually took place.

All this stuff about Triple H returning at the Rumble was internet rumors started up by internet smarks. As in lots of similar situations, the rumor takes on a life of its own and gets the point where fans convince themselves that what they've heard is going to happen despite absolutely ZERO concrete evidence. The WWE never said that Triple H would be returning tonight, nor did Triple H for that matter. There are any number of reasons why he hasn't returned yet.

The most obvious is simply that the WWE just didn't want to use him tonight. As KB also said, maybe he didn't want to steal the spotlight away from other wrestlers on the roster tonight. Ziggler had a big night and looked like a star yet again, he's got the goods. The Miz successfully defended his title and Alberto Del Rio, a guy that will legitimately benefit greatly from winning the Rumble, won the biggest match of his entire career.

Triple H will return soon enough and we'll all mark out like crazy when it happens. When we hear that guitar rif and Lemmy Kilmeister's gravely voice come over the speakers, we'll all get chills in our nuts and we'll bown down to the King of Kings.

1: he will be on raw tomarrow while shamus bitchs about getting tossed
2: him being there would kill the suprise of del rio
3:with no fued in ite for shamus and putting hhh in the EC with shamus and cena orton miz would be big pop

Because they wanted a special return. Not a typical, Rumble return where the person who makes the return rarely wins. I am assuming they are going to make his return in the next couple weeks on raw in an angle with Sheamus. But nothing is ever proven correct or incorrect until the event occurs.

Havn't the reports been that he is still recovering from injury. It's possible that this delayed him as well. I wouldn't be surprised though if tomorrow night on Raw he shows up to kick off the road to Wrestlemania on Raw.

Speaking of people who did not show up, is anyone else disapointed that Awesome Kong didn't show?

In my opinion, HHH is better suited to return for Elimination Chamber. He has been in more chamber matches than anyone else (6) and won more than anyone else (4). I'd like to see him return to the match he owns.

Easy, who says Trips wants to return? Him and HBK made a pact when one retires and the other hasnt its time for that guy to realise its time to step down. Not saying he wont ever wrestle again but what incentive does he have in doing so? He has a nice job at the HQ right now and hes still learning how to do the job well. In time when VKM retires or (God forbid so soon) passes on, Trips is the man who'll be taking over WWE with Stephanie. If anything in years to come hell be doing what VKM did/does now, CHairman of the WWE gimmick. He'll be back someday, but Im probably the only one who called it that HHH would NOT return at the rumble, and ill be surprised if he even does anytime soon, if anything expect him to return during Elimination Chamber setting up the Wrestlemania rematch between him and Sheamus and then maybe thats it him as a wrestler

I think the biggest reason he didn't come back tonight is because what would you do with him from now until Mania with Sheamus? There feud started last year at the elimination chamber when trips eliminated Sheamus thus having him lose the title. Why not have HHH come back in a surprise way somewhat in the manner that HBK did last year to cost Sheamus. I just don't think there is enough there that you can have HHH back now and drag the storyline til Mania.

HHH didn't return because The Rumble was big enough without him. Besides, if he did return he'd be eliminated by someone else or by himself(with Sheamus) which would have wasted a spot because it would've been pointless if he had won.

Sorry to go off topic a bit, but I read in a review on another forum explained that people like HHH, Taker, Christian, and Evan Bourne didn't return because like like us "expected them to" so they decided to "try to piss us off." I'm sorry, but give me a freaking break.

This. If they are actually going to do Triple H vs. Sheamus at Wrestlemania, they don't need to start it now. Royal Rumble is when you begin the build towards Wrestlemania. You start the fueds that will culminate there. That's a fued that's already well begun and at its peak. Triple H could show up the Monday before Wrestlemania and tell Sheamus they've got a match set. He'll probably come back at the Elimination Chamber match or shorter after...

Or maybe they're not even going to have the match at Mania. Maybe he's going to wait until SummerSlam. Maybe he's retired for good. It always cracks me up when internet fans believe baseless internet rumors so strongly that they're shocked when they don't happen. Like when Jericho was coming back, there was two PPVs in a row it was "supposed" to happen at but didn't, and everybody was like "where was Jericho???" Or when Christian was "supposed" to be the one causing the problems for Hardy, then he turned up on ECW, and it was Matt cuasing Jeff's problems. My favorite ever is when people act like Vince must have changed his plans because the story leaked. LOL! No, genius, your source was wrong. That, or you made it up from the beginning. Vince doesn't concern himself with the IWC.

Lol, exactly. But you have to remember, these are the exact same people telling us how "predictable" the Royal Rumble is every year now, and how the victories of Edge, Randy Orton, and John Cena were inevitable. (despite the fact that two of those three were completely stunning and nobody knew they would be in the match) Reality is not these people's friend.

Wal HHH not returning tonight..not the end of the world. There are 63 days until WM
. HHH will show his face between now and mania..maybe killing the Barrett vs dead man
Talk and actually have HHH Vs UT...sheamus and barrett Or sheamus and Morrison fit
More together than the revenge match..del rio makes sense..there are 9 more weeks that
Have time to build feuds..remember..it took 10 weeks to build Shawn vs UT

Well there is a couple reasons HHH might not of showed up tonight.
1) Everyone was exspecting it so they desided to hold off
2) Not to take away from Del Rio
3) Why bring him back only to kill momentum with getting elimanted.

All of which people have brought up. Now the one that no one has is that USA is on WWE's butt to come up with some big stuff for sweeps. Which they could have HHH's return be one the big things for Raw. Shemus being out in the ring saying about I am your King I took out HHH only to hear "Behold the King the King of Kings" which would get a huge pop on Raw.

Also, to the ones that are saying that HHH might not want to come back, he is on the cover on Febs WWE Mag saying about return. Which I know they have put out mags too fast before only to have something happen and the return or people be out injuried when the mag hits shelves. But it shows that it is highly likely HHH will be returning sometime soon.

HHH did a interview on rxmusle radio and they asked him about his return and he said in the spring. Who really knows when.

Perhaps Triple H is simply just done, people have been predicting his return for months and for he to continue to stay on the sidelines, maybe he's just decided to quietly hang up his boots and call it a career, he has an office at titan towers now, and seems to have an increased role in things behind the scenes, I think maybe he's might just be tired of the road and would rather stay closer to home where he can watch his children grow up, not to mention most of his friends are now retired or no longer with the company

Well there was 2 other suprises... BIG TIME.
so Triple H wouldn't have been a huge thing.

on a side note it was good to see Booker T back to his old self and Nash though lethargic looked better then he has in years. :)

Onto WrestleMania we go and the Clique can induct HBK.

Maybe HHH didn't want to return at the Rumble? I remember everyone penciled in Chris Jericho to return at Survivor Series in 2007 and were disappointed when he didn't show up. There's two months until WM. I think HHH will either return at the Elimination Chamber or the Raw after to get revenge on Sheamus. For all we know, he may not return at all.

Two reasons why:

1. Like a previous poster said, HHH coming back would have stolen Del Rio's thunder. Booker and Diesel were great additions, but no one realistically thought they were gonna win the Rumble. HHH however is a credible threat.

Completely agree, I posted something similar in IC's new thread. HHH' return would completely overshadow the other events you mentioned, and the RR should have been all about Del Rio's victory- which it was.

Hunter's returns will either be saved for a Raw or SD where he could soak in the adulation of the crowd, or at EC like you mentioned where hw could screw Sheamus and then the two could go at it at WM to end their feud. Great booking from the WWE in this situation I think
