I actually think Cena could work. Think about it, if he orchestrated the attack, he would know that it's coming, so if he did win the match, he'd be ready for it, and could take out Nash because Nash would be expecting the element of surprise, thus making Super Cena look even more unstoppable, and if he happened to lose the match... Sure fire way to take out his opponent, and since he knew Del Rio wouldn't be able to resist, sure fire way to put the belt on a weaker champion so it'd be easier to take back. It would work. But it would mean a heel turn for Cena, and I doubt they're willing to pull the trigger. So they'll probably just have it be Johnny Ace or Steph and play like Trips didn't know, until finally revealing Trips was behind it the whole time.
Well said, I agree with you. I also think that a heel-turn for Cena
could work, I'm just doubtful that the WWE
should turn him heel right now (or any time in the
immediate future). You nailed it, when you said that you "doubt they're willing to pull the trigger" on turning SuperCena into a heel (at least not before the next PPV, at the absolute earliest).
Since Cena has been getting more & more boos at WWE live events, it's possible that we see a Cena heel-turn without the WWE even wanting it to happen. You can't keep a guy "face" if more than 50% of the crowd is booing him, right? Did you see the TNA PPV where Mr. Anderson made his debut? He could have been a face for TNA upon his arrival to the company, but the fans started chanting "over-rated" at him during his first TNA match with Abyss. It was pretty much impossible for them to make him a face at that point, he needed to be a heel. The crowd could turn Cena heel all by themselves, is all I'm saying.
I think a Cena heel-turn is possible...especially before Wrestlemania in 2012 (for the reason I stated earlier - Cena vs. Rock in Miami). I just think that with this whole text scandal going on right now, that it will make the WWE storylines too convoluted.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the idea...if it makes sense, from a kayfabe POV. If Cena becomes HHH's "Corporate Champion", that would be sweet. Obviously something big would have to happen to turn Cena heel, and I think that if a scenario like this were to go down (Cena turning heel, joining a heel HHH & a new "Corporation" is born), then it would take some clever booking to make it happen. Either way, I don't think we'll see Cena turning heel until September (at the absolute earliest, if it happens at all).
--------------------
This next part doesn't have to do with Cena, I'm just so geeked about the possibility of a new "Corporation" with HHH (playing the Vince role), Nash (Hunter's right hand man in the ring), John Laurinaitis (HHH's right hand man backstage), and possibly X-Pac, Steph, HBK, or even Scott Hall. Man, that would be amazing.
Just imagine seeing all of them coming to the ring together, wearing expensive suits. Obviously HBK is a long shot, and Scott Hall is an even LONGER shot, but Stephanie & Johnny Ace would fit in nicely. It would be cool to see Cena turn heel and join them, I think Cena would get INSTANT heat if he was their "Corporate Champion". Just seeing Cena in an expensive suit would make the fans go NUTS with all the booing. They could even come to the ring with their theme music being the old DX theme (like I mentioned earlier). Man, a Kliq reunion like that would be great to see. The old school fans (including me, and many others) would be so happy to see a new "Corporation" with HHH as it's figure-head, with or without Cena. Just HHH & Nash being "on the same page" as "corporate heels" would be fucking amazing IMHO.
I just don't see Cena being the one behind this "text scandal". As someone pointed out earlier in this thread, it seemed to be worded in such a way that it sounded like it came from HHH. Something like "Big man, no matter what goes down I want you to stick the winner"...not exact, but close.
Sounds like it was either HHH, Steph or Laurinaitis. I bet it was either Steph or Johnny, but HHH knew about it. HHH will deny that he knew anything about it, and either Steph or Laurinaitis will take the initial heat. Later (at least a month or two from now) it will be revealed to us that HHH was in on the "text-scandal" the whole time. God, at least I hope that's how it goes down. I posted all of this in an earlier post in this thread, that's also extremely long-winded. Sorry I keep writing so many words per post! LOL!
--------------------
I wanted to add this really quickly as well: if the text came from Hunter's phone, then it would almost HAVE to be Stephanie or Laurinaitis who takes the initial heat (for sending the text to Nash at SummerSlam). Vince or Del Rio wouldn't have access to HHH's cell phone, but Stephanie or Laurinaitis would. Steph would have easier access, but Laurinaitis would be able to snatch Hunter's phone as well. Before someone denies this claim, all the WWE would have to say is that Hunter left his phone on his desk when he went to the bathroom or something...and Laurinaitis snuck in, grabbed Hunter's phone and wrote the text to Nash.
This simple explanation (stealing/using Hunter's phone) could have also been the work of Del Rio, or possibly Alberto's ring announcer (whose name escapes me at the moment). The WWE could easily say that one of them used Hunter's phone to text Nash.
The other possibility is that Nash acted alone. Nash (along with X-Pac & Scott Hall) did similar things in early 2010 with "The Band" in TNA. "The Band" beat up at least one or two guys they thought Hogan would want beaten up, and Hogan denied being behind it. "The Band" fizzled out in TNA before we got closure for this angle, so who knows where it could have been going? ...just sayin', Nash could be doing the same thing in the WWE (maybe both of these scenarios were his idea). Sounds pretty good to me, the more that I think about the similarities between what happened at SummerSlam, and TNA in early 2010. I bet both of these angles were Nash's idea/ideas (at least that would make sense, for Nash to have come up with the initial idea).
