The Shockmaster
Pre-Show Stalwart
Sting has been a wrestling Icon for over 2 decades and still going. The only person I see being greater in terms of keeping a gimmick going would be the Undertaker and they are the only two wrestlers that are still active wrestlers coming from the late 80's(hogan and flair dont count anymore). Both deserve a damn good storyline for there final "hoo-rah" but im going to focus on Stings.
Its no secret that Sting became the Icon he is today because of his "crow" gimmick he portrayed in the mid 90's. His Feud with the nwo no doubt kept wcw in the rating game and was possibly one of the greatest story lines of good vs evil ever put together. Now a days Sting still adorns the black & white face paint(sometimes red & black) but has definitely lost his "crow" appeal.
Since TNA isn't great on creating compelling storyline's my hopes for Stings final days aren't the highest. But then again lately they have been surprising me. So my question is what storyline options do you think would work for stings final angle?
My version goes like this...
Stings best known for his feud with the nwo so relive it with Fortune. They are currently on there way to becoming a new Hourseman/nwo hybrid anyway. Have sting and nash finish there feud with hogan and bishoff. Fortune by then should be dominating basically everyone. Have sting and nash turn there attention to Fortune saying they have to stop them from the monster there becoming. Nash gets attacked and taken out and sting is left to fight on his own. He goes through the lower ranked members and finally gets to AJ(AJ should have the title by then). They'll have one final epic encounter where AJ wins with sting putting him way over. Sting then retires but does so looking great for a number of months.
A little remixed version of his wcw theme wouldn't hurt either. Along with taking off the shirt but understand the reasoning why he doesn't.
