Interesting responses to this thread actually which was really just me bitching that my own OP got trashed when I thought it was a legitimate point. I never thought it would generate spam and I didn't care if it was going to be ridiculed because its just a fun sort of topic anyway.

The Brain was right about the reasons why I posted it in the prison and I feel he probably doesn't have sand in his vagina since he didn't give me an infraction for breaking an obvious rule about posting complaints.
However I disagree that its a ridiculous topic and I'm not the only one evidently.

To sum it up I don't think he would've gotten so famous without his receding hair and facial hair to make him a recognisable face.

a) Moderators/G-Mods/Admins have the experience to make justified judgement calls on whether threads are appropriate in their sections or not. So, if you wish to call that "subjective", then you're right. But it doesn't change that fact that they have the right to close whatever threads they want, like it or not.

b) If we can anticipate that a thread is going to do nothing but draw spam in a non-spam section, you bet your ass we're going to close it.

c) Posters don't seem to understand (or feel like) posting borderline topics in the spam zones. We have these sections for you guys where rules like spamming don't apply. It will never cease to amaze me how posters don't utilize that section more. If anything at all, it would have saved us from this thread being created and this stupid argument from happening.

The blonde hair, the over the top tan, the handle bar moustache then the cul-de-sac hair line, the over-ageing but retention of huge arms for such a long period solidified him into peoples minds.
Did he have a huge repertoire of technical wrestling moves? no. Was he the most articulate or the most skilled at the art of acting? no.
Did most of the world know his face but had never actually seen him wrestle? yes.
Why do more of your non wrestling friends know who he is and not who stone cold is even though Stone Cold sold more merchandise to wrestling fans? because you see someone who's almost the spitting image of stone cold walk down the street everyday but the only people who look like Hulk Hogan are Hulk Hogan impersonators.
Its the same deal as how you know who Justin Bieber is but you sure as hell have never watched him perform and if he didn't look all young and cute it wouldn't matter for shit what his singing voice was like he wouldn't get screams from anyone. Pamela Anderson would never have had a job on baywatch without her awesome tits.
Its exactly this that made Hogan famous - he looked how a wrestler stereotypically should; big blonde, tanned, facial hair and not perfect (going bald) so he appealed more to the every man and most important of all didn't look all that regular.

I also don't like people who write "Lulz" thats not cool and is the main reason why I actually responded.

Your thread was shit for the same reason that this post is shit. It's formatted to look like shit. The argument was presented to look like shit. It's like you didn't even take the time to make a quality post; you got an idea (which I think is shit, but for the sake of your argument let's forget about that) and instead of presenting your case in a manner which would encourage quality debate and discussion, you rushed it out. Maybe you'll find in the future that a mod is less likely to delete your thread in situations like this if it's shown that you actually put a little fucking effort into it.

It may be a necessary thing but it undeniably renders the existence of the rules in the first place much less important than most like to suggest. It isn't hard to learn to follow the stated rules, it is more difficult to guess what someone is thinking.

Since I've reviewed and revamped the rules myself on a couple of different occasions, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt there is not ONE rule in the Rulebook which says created threads are free from moderation unless they are stupid. There is a rule against Duplicate Topics and there is a rule against Posting Threads in the Wrong Forum, but there is no rule which says any thread started will be moderated only if it's a stupid thread.

As Brain said, this poster received no Discipline. No rule was ever introduced into why the thread was closed. You have no leg to stand on here. Like someone else told you, if you wish to come after the Staff on how they enforce the Rules, do it on another case, because this one simply has no chance of you being anywhere near correct.

I'd just like to point out that if you put as much effort into your trashed thread as you did in this one we probably would have seen some decent discussion in the old school section. As I said, your point in your Hogan thread may be valid. I don't think you did a good job expressing that point. I consider myself to be fairly open minded and if my first instinct was to mock and trash the thread I don't think any real discussion was going to occur. I'm not putting myself on a high horse. I'm using my year plus experience as a mod to come to that conclusion. You clearly didn't care much to discuss this topic anyway. If you did you would have either put more effort into your original post or you would have created a better thread after the first was trashed. There's nothing stopping you from creating this thread again with a better opening post. So go ahead. Create the thread again with a better op and create some discussion.
