Forgive me if i have done anything wrong but this is my first forum, please inform me if I have done anything wrong, and I also haven't seen anything recent;y that has to do with released people in general, and also I believe that this belongs in WWE, but tell me if I am wrong... now my choice.

Carlito (Yes a huge shocker)

While a lot of you might complain that he wasn't happy in WWE and didn't want to work, maybe it was because he was stuck in mid-card most if not all his career...He was in a tag team with Santino, and Unified the titles and then lost them to Edge and Jericho, for no reason whatsoever, and then almost never appeared on tv afterwards, so in conclusion he could of easily of been on a higher level if granted.

Well - as much as I predict a barrage of people saying Bryan Danielson, out of that list - Shelton without question. Give him a manager/valet/someone who can talk on his behalf and there's a main eventer down the line.

I think Carlito was done - and Mickie had 5 Divas/Women's title reigns - so it's not like she wasn't pushed.

As a general rule, if someone gets fired, as much as the IWC might want them to stay around, it's rare their calling for a push for them.

I have three

Carlito: I definitely agree with you. He said he started to dislike his job because of the way they were treating him. WWE really did treat him like crap, I mean really they made him job to Hornswoggle. I know a lot of people dont like him because he 'is lazy' though I disagree with that. It was obvious that he was miserable but I don't think he was lazy.

Paul Burchill: He was over with the pirate gimmick but WWE had to end that because of a lawsuit. So they decide to give no gimmick except being a generic heel that happened to be English. Of course he didn't get over, they didn't allow him to have a personality. He was a good wrestler who was completely wasted by the company

Lance Cade: After he was released for having a seizure on a plane, WWE eventually re-hired him. Unfortunately the fired him again before he got back on television. That was incredibly dumb, unless he was abusing painkillers again then they should have let him on television again and started pushing him. He has cleanly defeated HBK, so it was obvious that they were going to push him hard before his original release, and I just wish we could have seen what would have come of that

I have a few others too but I'm not sure that they would be considered recent

EDIT: I feel like a complete idiot for forgetting Sheton Benjamin. He was always good in the ring, and I think he was getting much better at promos. He should have gotten pushed, not released.

Shelton definately!

His hottest period was either in 04 when he was getting wins over Ric Flair and Triple H or in 05 after his match with Shawn. From then on he was booked so poorly. I even thought he would win the ECW Title at TLC, but no.

Shelton had ability, he was entertaining, he was.....improving with his talking, and easily could have been a big deal.

I think Shelton was probably the one in the MOST DESERVING of push category. I was hoping to see more of his angle with Christian. Sucks that he only had the one match against him at TLC. I know he is fiercely talented, and from his previous matches against HBK, HHH, and Flair, and others, he has the skills to be main event. I'm sad that he was let go. He was someone who could bring moves out of nowhere. Jumping to the top rope from the middle of the ring (literally!) and then his ability to just snap suplex someone. His mic skills were getting better and better being on ECW, case in point, those numerous appearances on the ill-fated Abe Washington show. I still don't think we'll ever comprehend that dark day that many people were let go, but Shelton has to be the one that I'm still scratching my head on, and at least I have my fingers cross that hopefully he has greener pastures awaiting him in other organizations, or whatever he chooses to do with his time post-WWE.

Shelton Benjamin overall since even though his mic work was bad, he was one the best workers in WWE. Mickie James was misused with the whole Piggy James storyline, but at least she was in the main event for the woman's title. Jimmy Wang Yang was lucky to even be there in WWE for as long as he was. Carlito has always been lazy and he may have not been used either, but he didn't bring anything to the table in my opinion. Mike Knox and Paul Burchill had potential, but I never saw it since the men hardly ever won any matches.

Shelton was one of the best workers in WWE that never got is due respect.

Maybe Lance Cade, but he was not seen as someone who gave 100% Shelton Benjamin, hands down. He could make any match look awesome. If used correctly, he could have held a world championship or two. His worse gimmick had to be when Momma Benjamin was introduced. I guess that is how you say thank you to someone who had the most natural ability on your roster. Remember him in MITB? One of the reasons why that match was successful. Since he has not participated in that match, it has lost a little of its luster each time.

Danielson is just obvious, and by FAR the stupidest (a word? lol) release I've ever seen. No need to elaborate.
I thought Umaga was unfortunate. Suc'd as 3 Minute Warning but his savage Somoan was great. While the gimmick was in a lull I thought it could be injected with new life if given a new manager and focus. Always thought he should have kicked Cena's ass in that submission match. RIP.
I have to agree with the Lance Cade pick. He was shaping up real nice. Had he not been released he'd be doing very well at the moment. I was also liking Trevor Murdock. How about bringing him back to team with Husky Harris? Be an interesting pair.....
Good thread.

How about Elijah Burke or Mr. Kennedy? They are both AWESOME in TNA! Yes I said TNA, for all the dumb stuff they do, they have managed to let these guys be stars!

There was a reason Shelton Benjamine, Jimmy Yang, and Carlito were released. Among other reasons they were not that entertaining.

I thought about Mickie James but with 4 active divas on Smackdown at the time being on tv is as much a push a diva gets.

I think Bryan Danielson was gettiing a decent push when he was fired so he doesn't count for this list. I wanted to say Eric Escobar but we did not see enough of him before the WWE soured of him.

In the people that have been recently fired were either already getting a push or did not deserve one.

Carlito was pretty entertaining when he wanted to be and Shelton was great in the ladder match vs Christian, and if you don't like the people, then comment about Who you want to be pushed, don't diss people for no reason on a thread about who you think should of got pushed, wewantables.

I'm a huge fan of Shelton Benjamin's, and I understand if they didn't see him a World Champion material. I just find it hard to believe that they couldn't find ANYTHING for him to do! A guy that talented, and they couldn't anything with him?

It's the same with Carlito. I was just watching the Elimination Chamber match he was in, and he was incredible.

It boggles my mind that the top wrestling company on the planet two guys with that much talent get lost in the shuffle.

I know Masters is back now but he WAS released awhile ago and brought back.

What about him? I remember when he was teaming with Carlito awhile back and he was even in the elimination chamber in 2006. The guy had talent and a unique finisher, also the physique of a monster. Then he fell off the face of the organization, then released, and now he's back as like less than a jobber. Why not give him a push?

You know, I just thought of another one. I'm not sure if two years ago is recent enough time but I do not for the life of me understand why they didn't push Armando Estrada.

Seriously. This guy had amazing mic skills. And then when he competed in his first match I think everybody watching was as shocked as I was when we saw how ripped the guy was. Like John Morrison but with great mic skills.

Why the hell didn't they push him? I know that at first he was Umaga's manager but they for some reason split those two up. Then they made Armando the GM of ECW, made him job to other jobbers, and then released him. What the hell?

I don't know how young he is, but I would assume he wasn't very young as I can think of no other reason why they didn't bother to even try pushing him. If this is really the case then I think it's a perfect example of why it's absolutely stupid to think you can't push a guy if he is over the age of 29. He has retired since then so it's too late now but I really do think it was dumb to not push this guy.

There are a few I'd say
1) Shelton Benjamin: He was just one of the most entertaining wrestlers to watch but was just wasted
2) Carlito: He was always good to watch especially when he was the unified tag champs with Primo in early 2009
3) Bryan Danielson: For obvious reasons :)
4) Eric Escobar: You may be thinking "WTF???" but I think he was completely wasted, he was never given a chance, give him the IC title and he'd have brought the title back to life! :D

PS. I am really glad Mickie James was released, I couldn't stand her in the ring, I'd rather watch a blade of grass sway in the wind :)

I honestly think they got rid of her just because she wasn't super thin and blonde, there were/are less talented divas getting pushes (layla, kelly kelly, Eve)

alright, I know this is random but I say.......................wait for it...................ARMANDO ALEJANDRO ESTRRRRRRRRRADA!!!

HE HAD A CHARACTER AND WAS A TOUGH DUDE, IF HE WOULD'VE GOT THE PROPER PUSH HE COULD POSSIBLY BE A MAJOR PLAYER ON SMACKDOWN.

How about Elijah Burke or Mr. Kennedy? They are both AWESOME in TNA!
Well, they should've changed Burke's gimmick and moved him back to the main roster, but they screwed that up. WWE TRIED to push Mr. Kennedy, but then he would get hurt. Kennedy HAD the money in the bank, got hurt and WWE thought they would be forced to take the briefcase off of him and did, they tried pushing him again, but he got suspended. Kennedy didnt get a push because of Kennedy.

As for Bryan Danielson, HOPEFULLY he gets pushed to a midcarder if he returns, then in the future becomes a WWE or World Heavyweight Champion.

As for Mickie James, i liked her in the ring, WWE just didnt have her character that great.

LANCE CADE ! I am still angry at wwe for letting him go. He was becoming into such a great star and wwe releases him. Why would you think of releasing while he's with CHRIS JERICHO and he had just wrestled a match with the Legendary HBK. Lance had alot of things going his way and wwe threw it away.

I'm gonna have to go with some of the others and say Shelton Benjamin. He was a very talented athlete and also a great technical wrestler all he needed was some work on the mic.

Throw him in there with the top superstars and he performed excellent. I think if they had have put him a a feud with a good storyline he would be on main event status to this day.

I really hope he signs with WWE again and comes back with a great push.

Aside from that horrible Piggy James angle. I don't think Mickie could have asked for a better career. Shelton and Carlito may have never reached main event status. However they both were given descent pushes to mid card titles.

Shelton was definitely the better and more deserving of the two. I think he could have been a descent main eventer even without the mic skills his wrestling ability makes up for that. He's still young enough so it still could happen if he's ever rehired.

Personally I would like to see Bryan Daniel get the push he deserves if he's ever given another chance which I'm sure he will. If he hadn't been fired I think he would be the co leader of Nexus right now. He's definitely more talented and better on the mic then most if not all of them.

Well actually I meant main event push, like the Cena, or even a Drew or Kofi, both have had long feuds with top people in the biz, and again, I put Micky in there becaue i felt people would be mad without a diva in there.

i got to say elijah burke, after seeing him in tna he is really entertaining, if he would of got a push in wwe he could be the us champ or intercontinental champ

I have three, Carlito, Benjamin, and Bryan Danielson. They deserved pushes with different championship directions. Carlito: Intercontinental a few more times. Benjamin:US a few mores times. Danielson: World heavyweight(not WWE Heavyweight) multiple times. They were very athletic and exciting to watch. They deserve to be re-hired and pushed or go to a company that treats them well, not including TNA(their too talented for TNA).

Of anyone two come to mind and they are Carlito and Shelton and here is why i believe so for each guy.

Shelton - The guy had great ring skills and has had many matches that i can recall that were better then just being OK. Not to mention the fact that even though he was no good on the mic he was still very over with the live crowds. He did get several mid card title runs but really their was a time where had he been put with the proper person he could have been elevated to the next level.

Carlito - Talk about a guy who made an instant impact right out of the gate. He won titles on his SD and Raw debut and was pushed for the longest time as a very solid heel. But he was never pushed as anything more then a secondary heel. Very rarely if at all was he involved in the top feud on either brand and quiet frankly i believe he could have been. Very solid in the ring and on the mic and had the ability to draw heat from the crowd as well. To me he will go down under the dropped ball category for the WWE.
