UK Members - Jimmy Carr!?

Australian here - Jimmy Carr is probably my favourite comedian. No matter how many times I watch the same performance, I will always laugh at his jokes. There are very few comedians that can make me laugh on second viewing and I've shopped around.

I will also admit that the UK churns out some awesome comedians.

Jimmy Carr, definitely absolutely hilarious.
While others have brought up some names, I'll throw in some.

Russell Howard, as a stand up, I cannot stand. He's hilarious on Good News, when he's reading from an autocue, but otherwise I can't laugh at his jokes. Same with Jack Whitehall. When he's being himself on panel/quiz shows, he's great. Live, not at all.

Dara O'Briain, do people actually think he's funny?

Frankie Boyle was the main reason for watching Mock The Week, but now I usually only pay attention should Milton Jones or Stewart Francis (Canadian, I believe) are on it.

Rhod Gilbert is a brilliant comedian, if you can understand what he's saying.

Bill Bailey, Lee Mack, Russell Brand are all comedians who stand up shows I enjoy. Bailey especially what with the addition of a LOT of music in his shows.

Rhod Guilbert is the very reason I opened this thread. The man is a absolute goldmine. A whole world away from Jimmy Carr in that his entire routine is build and build upon a theme, but for anyone with a sizeable funny bone, this man will tickle.

His "award winning mince pie" is the only comedy DVD I've ever had the decency to pay for. A stunning show from start to finish. Two thumbs up.

Kevin Bridges is undoubtedly the best comedian in Britain. There are many funny comedians and a lot of them get good exposure on TV but Bridges > the rest.

I don't remember the show (I think it was the Channel 4 Comedy Gala), but he done a skit about an electrician & it was one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time.

Can't find it on Youtube unfortunately.

I meant to say this a while ago but I totally love Matt Lucas and David Walliams. They were introduced to me via a dvd sent to me (region-free) from a pen pal in Pontypridd, and I couldn't get enough.

Unfortunately, they tried Little Britain over here in the USA, but it flopped, BADLY. Which is sad because some things were great. (FAT FIGHTERS,lol)

I guess to some over here, things get lost in translation, but for some reason I totally get it. (the slang "pants" has also forever been en-grained into my vocabulary for some reason, and no one gets it :( )

Also, Sean Lock and Lee Evans I find entertaining as well.
