The WZ Movie Tournament

I'm a movie buff, possibly even more than I am of wrestling, so I'll definitely be in there for the discussions.

KB FTW.

I'm not quite sure what I'd do if Pulp Fiction went up against Goodfellas. Abstain, probably. Or slit my wrists, so I wouldn't have to watch one go over the other.

You're wasting your time with most of those films. You don't want forum members to pick the films. That way you'll get personal favourites. People might pick The Gofather, but it won't generate nearly as much discussion as Saw. Annie Hall, Kramer vs. Kramer, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang might be great films. But they wouldn't spark any intrest at all.

Exorcist and The Sting are already in there. All The President's Men I added. Patton also.

I guess I'll add all your 80's ones two. They're good movies. I just don't see them holding up well against some other movies.

That depends on what your idea of discussion is. Sure, if I put Saw in there, it'd probably get a lot of people in there. But odds are half the people in there will be going "Yeah Saw rulz everything els is gaaayyy." And the other half would be people like me, making all the Saw fans cry by pointing that they're favorite movie is a piece of crap.

Hopefully, I can get people like you, and Ech, and Sly, to come in and discuss movies like Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and Being John Malkovich. That way, there's some thorough discussion, and could possibly get some of the other posters to actually try and give a good argument. If nobody votes for them, oh well. But at least they've seen people talking about it, and may go out and see the movie for themselves.

Why would people suddenly start posting ''Yeah Saw Rulez'' when they don't currently?

With films that nobody has seen you'll just get votes and no discussion. The purpose of the forum is to discuss, not vote in random polls. That's just pointless. Adding films that are popular will add more to the forum, than films with critical acclaim.

I agree. It's a great movie, but it's not as popular other 70's movies like Star Wars, Rocky, or The Godfather.

That's why I'm trying to add as many films as possible that are BOTH popular AND critically acclaimed.

Well, personally, I'd still like to give this a try. If it doesn't work out well, oh well. But if it does go well, fantastic.

I am super down. SUPER. You need any nominations, drop me a PM.
