The World Wants Obama

Unions are bad, absolutely agree. People that are willing to strike for more money don't seem to get the idea that the money they're making is better than unemployment or strike pay.

I voting John McCain, he's the closest thing to a Liberal Republican that we'll get. Sarah Palin is not only attractive, but she can hold her own in the political world. McCain chose her as his running mate for a reason, and I think he made a smart choice.

Palin is probably the best choice he could have made. She's the exact opposite of him. Young, attractive, energetic, perky. Excellent selection.

The media can paint her however they want, I mean it's not like they've already tried to do damage to the images of the likes of Hilary, Obama, John Edwards, and others

Normally I'm all for stuff like that, but even I don't find making fun of a former POW for being tortured as a good time.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and home ownership were at all time highs until the democrats took control of congress. You understand that since that happened Pelosi and Reid have accomplished nothing except for the lowest approval rating ever for congress.
Que?

Are you trying to say that until 2006, the American Economy was doing well?

I've given up on listening to the media about anyone. It seems like we've actually tried the crazy idea of listening to the people talk and forming my own opinions on them.

Yeah, he made a smart choice. He's trying to use the division in the Democratic party, the Hillary Fanatics, to garner more votes and win the election. That completely goes against McCain's "I'm for the people" crap, because the ONLY reason she was elected was because it had the possibility of getting him more votes. Smart choice, but the reasons are completely and outrageously self-centered.

Really, the basic premise of appointing her was 1. To garner the Cliton/Feminist vote. Even if she's against almost everything Hillary was for, she's got boobies; she's gotta have interests of the Women at heart. 2. Because she is the polar opposite of McCain. She's young, good looking, and has no experience. That's covering his bases saying "If I'm missing it, she's got it."

McCain is very conservative on a lot of things, but other than that the left is scared of Palin. They thought she be nothing, but when 37 million people watched her speech at the RNC compared to 24 for Biden at the DNC and polls started showing her being more popular than McCain and Obama they got nervous, more so when Obama got about 42 million people watching him at the DNC. When she became popular and helping McCain the left shitted their pants and started attacking her any way they could no matter what lies they have to tell. Mostly bitterness because she showed up Obama after the DNC speech, more people talked about her than him.

They also sunk to a new low when they started bitching about a picture of a school behind McCain at the RNC..Who is demanding an apology? An elected democrat who used his 2 daughters. Talk about damage control.

When I read this one thing comes to my mind: Out of all the things that have been said recently, from people talking about Palin's daughter being pregnant, to the timing of everything, to a school picture or whatever, have any candidates been talking about any issues? Not that I've heard, which is why I hate politics.

Obama has been bitching about McCain wanting to lower the corporate tax rate.

I'm not surprised, as the media isn't interested in the political aspects of the campaigns of Obama and McCain, just the superficial

What you mean the people that want peace in the world, but tackle chinese runners carrying a torch?

I'm still undecided on who I'm voting for. But I will say, I think the Republicans put on a much more impressive convention than the Democrats. The DNC came off as a gigantic pat on the back to themselves. The RNC actually appeared to try to appeal to voters, especially the voters who are undecided.

And to Brian, who bitched about Palin only getting the job to get the feminist vote... um, duh? The VP nomination is almost always a way to counter arguements from the opposition, and pick up votes in the demos that do not seem to be very supporting of the canidate. Palin was picked because

1) She's a woman. A very successful, Conservative woman. This may appeal to the Hillary supporters.
2) She's young, countering McCain's drawback of being an "old" candidate. It's almost a reversal of roles with Joe Biden. Biden was picked because he counters Obama's youth and inexperience. AND it counters the "first black president" with "first female on the Republican bill".
3) She has more experience in Executive power than Obama. And this is not something that can be debated. It is a fact.
4) She's from Alaska, which will do numerous things. This will appeal to Western voters, will help the Republicans when they push for off-shore oil-drilling, and also sticks a finger in the eye of the Democrats. How hypocritical did they look when they took cheap shots at Palin for being "inexperienced", when this whole time Obama has been billed as a "rising star", and a "surprise hero to the Democratic party", all of which are flimsy attempts to flip the "inexperience" arguement. Palin, in my opinion, made Obama look like a fool in her speech. Obama, in his acceptance speech, look frazzled, intimidated, and frankly, inexperienced. Palin was cool, calm, and gave an outstanding speech. AND... her teleprompter was broken. Palin came off more prepared to become VP than Obama did to become president. Palin made a great point about Obama in her speech. The election for presidency is not supposed to be a journey of "personal discovery".

So yeah, at first glance, it would seem that Palin was only picked because she is a woman. But the OTHER reasons are because she is smart, she is quick, and she is prepared. And she comes across much better to the average American, much more so than the pompous Mitt Romney, or that joke Mike Huckabee. McCain had been leading in most polls beforehand. Now, Palin may very well seal the deal for the Republicans. However, my own personal voting decision will probably come down to whose Health Care plan I agree with more. Health Care, for me, is an extremely important issue.

McCain supports No Child Left Behind, as well as the promotion of charter schools and private education.

No way he gets my vote.
