Seems like these companies keep reviving the same old stale stables. NWO, DX, and stables that were around for a while nice Nostalgia acts... but it gets old after a while. In wrestling, recycling stables is a dangerous thing... its like recycling your underwear. Not fresh, but if they don't stink, go ahead and do it, but shouldn't be done a third and in this case fourth time... I don't care what stable you're using. Its best to go fresh.

Couldn't agree more with you guys. The NWO consisting of Hogan, Hall, Nash, and Sean Waltman simply couldn't work today. Besides the obvious issues of age, health and sobriety, the problem with bringing back the NWO is that the cool factor that made the NWO so appealing is long gone. You can't recreate the allusion of reality that the original group had simply because pro wrestling has --- or had at one point --- caught up to the reality based storytelling that made the NWO so unique.

As for the comment about DX, I agree that they get old after a while; however, the difference between the NWO and DX is that we had 4-5 years of the NWO while we only had 6-7 months of the original DX. Also, both wrestlers are still very credible in the ring. Not only is Triple H still at the top of his game, but Shawn Michaels has proven that he can still put on a match of the year any time he wants.

Lastly - and more importantly - this DX pairing seems to keep Triple H away from the World Title picture (with exception to a 3-week program for Survivor Series), which by itself, makes the DX storyline worth it for most posters here...

you know what i would rather see an NWO reunion then DX give another stupid plug for whatever they are selling i mean come on at least the NWO wants to take over the damn show all shawn and trips want to do is stupid plugs for books, shirts, hats, dvds, or stupid blankets. come on at least Scott, Sean, Hulk, and Big Kev are all bussiness

I wihs both teams would go away, as far as the NWO being all business, If I remember correctly, it was Hall, Nash and Waltman in all of those commercials hawking T-shirts that started with "The following announcement has been paid for by the New World Order."

The DX stuff gets hawked once a show. The NWO stuff was hawked at every commercial break BY THE NWO.

only bring back the NWO if they have original stories..there only thing I can possibly see them doing is more of the same..maybe involve a feud with Foley and Jarret? Maybe Angel play's the new sting role or Sting even comes back...new breed vs millionaires...I really just want to see original material

yeah i do remember that but those were awesome to see cuz you had the NWO sign and you had an actual guy say "the following message has be paid for by the New World Order" that was just awesome to see and dude all the NWO did was just put a plug for t-shirts and only did it maybe a once a week or two times what pisses me off is every time i watched raw dx is on like almost every hour plugging stupid shit that i will never buy in a 100 years and i would rather see the NWO cuz they were cool, but i will admit DX was cool but that was in 97, 98,99 now they are just 2 old dudes that don't want to retire. On this week of RAW dx is going to court with a freakin little person over a damn t-shirt for GOD'S SAKE enough is enough just end DX and at least i know one thing the NWO wouldn't be going against somebody like Hornswaggle, I USED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE DX ARMY UNTIL I JUST THE GROUP THATS 4 LIFE
NWO its toooooooooo ssssssssswwwwwwweeeeeeettttt

Does the WWE not own the rights to the nwo..

i mean if they come out with the same members and they just arent called the NWO that's not gonna work..

The NWO worked for me personally for about a month. It did'nt take long to see that every week they would beat someone up then the following week they were NWO!Hogan,Nash,Hall,Waltman even Foley All these guys need to stay out of the ring Please!I just hope someone in the wrestling industry actually comes up with an original idea soon before I turn wrestling off completely!

Dear god.NO
Im sorry but tna is starting something fresh and new..or they are trying to it seems like. Doing some thing of a n.w.o repeat would just push them back and not help. Sure lets let them sign Waltman and have some fueds in the x division but please dont bring in the nwo. Im sure that they have a few cards up their sleeves for the 4th but lets wait and see what happens. But again ..i dont think i need to say much else besides the fact of the nwo would just reverse their plans right now

I just would hate to see the nWo reform. It was shocking and new at the time and it was completely driven by Hogan as a heel for the first time in a decade and half.

Now, Nash is a silver-haired old man who needs to stop wrestling and become a manager.

Now, Hall is a drunk who isn't healthy enough to be on tv.

Now, Hogan physically shouldn't wrestle and would be so much better at Hulk the GM.

The nWo would be a horrible idea.

In my opinion there's no way they could bring back the original NWO as an active wrestling faction yet try to position TNA as a progressive company.

They only way I could imagine them doing this is to end up making the faction looking like a bunch of washed up old men that can't compete with the new blood in TNA 2010, making a real distinction between the old-guard and the new generation.

I can imagine maybe Russo pitching that idea (don't shout at me for suggesting such a thing), but I can't imagine any of the old NWO talent ever going for such an angle.

One guys writes that DX is filled with a bunch of old dudes that should retires in an argument that the NWO should be reformed... Really? Hulk Hogan reportedly came back from Australia nearly crippled. Kevin Nash is a walking injury. Scott Hall is pushing 350 pounds while maintaining his reputation as a fall down drunk... Sean Waltman hasn't wrestled a good match in 10 years. You say Triple H - who is still one of the top workers in pro wrestling - and Shawn Michaels - who can still put on a match of the year candidate every single year - should retire? The entire NWO belongs on an episode of E's True Hollywood Story. It's littered with train wrecks.

X Pac actually had a lot of very good matches in TNA in 2005 especially his match with AJ Styles at No Surrender 2005 but as for the rest of them yeah they have no right to get to the top of the card based on their reputations when TNA has fresh new young talent ready to capitalize on the push of youth as Russo wishes.

TNA is about pro wrestling and when you hear things like this you can't help but think TNA is turning into wcw where all the veterans could once again dominate the upper card based on their status from past promotions.

Who knows whats gonna happen with Hogan and TNA. That's the great thing about it because it's the mystery of not knowing whats going to happen that will make us watching on January 4th. It seems TNA has been pushing their younger talent as of late which is great and hey maybe Hogan will do the right thing by TNA, but as far as the nWo coming back I don't see it happening honestly.

No, no, no.
If the nWo makes a return, then that's my final straw with TNA.
I wouldn't mind kicking out iMPACT! of my viewing schedule.. I already watch ROH, ECW, and sometimes Smackdown!. Personally, that's more than enough Wrestling for me a week.

Yeah the NWO cannot come to TNA anyways since the WWE has the rights to the name. Plus they would just be out of place anyways, sinceno one even talks about the NWO anymore. Nash needs to retire from pro wrestling for good. He cannot wrestle anymore and just hogging up space, and alot of space. Be an announcer or manager.

Well they can't bring back the "NWO" as the WWE owns the name rights to the NWO, but as to brining Hall Nash and Hogan back together, i think it would be just a bad idea. I really don't want to see the group formley known as the NWO to go the way of DX. (Bunch of old guys being hell raisers, not my cup of tea.)

NWO returning? Won't happen, as others have already mentioned, WWE still owns the rights to the actual NWO name, even despite the fact that nearly all the original NWO members are either dead, retired/out of favour or in TNA, therefore they can't use the name anyway, and didn't they already try a similar kind of thing with the Main Event Mafia? The only thing I personally liked about that group was their entrance music.

Regardless of the name, there's no credible way the original NWO could come back as a believable in-ring opposition in wrestling to the younger TNA guys. It's diametric to how the X-Division works... like a single clothes line is gonna put down someone like Samoa Joe? The whole in-ring style of the old school just doesn't mesh with how newer wrestlers work these days. An old school finish just diminishes the entire match style many new wrestlers have developed. Whether one is right or wrong, I don't know. But in a logical way, they're just not compatible.

If Nash grabbing the case is the first step in bringing in a former buddy, this is bad. I don't have any problem watching Nash work a match, but he doesn't have anyone that would be able show up and help him win the belts...

I'd take a wild guess, and say he chooses Eric Young, creating a civil war within the World Elite, and pushing ahead what they have going in storyline.

Nash winning the tag team title shot at Final Resolution is a hint from TNA Management that Hogan could be his tag team partner for a future title shot and then that could only lead to them possibly bringing in their buddies.

I hope TNA doesn't turn into a rehash of wcw where all the veterans now ten years older occupy all the top spots in the company based on their past achievements. With the Mafia storyline ending i would like to see TNA focus on giving the young guys the spotlight now like Matt Morgan, Hernandez, Daniels, Wolfe, Styles etc.

NWO its toooooooooo ssssssssswwwwwwweeeeeeettttt

I agree DX should retire, but to say they should retire and then campaign for the NWO is nuts. How is old is Hogan?? Nash probably has a permanent reservation at his surgeons he is hurt so much, and Scott Hall is so unreliable and past his prime its sad.

And both promotions have done stupid things with the members of the stables. The Hornswoggle stuff is just dumb, but the NWO was WCW, and opened, closed and even took over the show on several occassions. It was just painful to watch after awhile.

Call me crazy, but if the rumors of Scott Hall coming back to TNA for the January 4th live episode of iMPACT! are correct, the Motor City Machineguns just got shafted for what feels like the umpteenth time by TNA regarding giving them a legitimate run with the straps. Not only did they job to The British Invasion at Final Resolution, but on top of it I doubt they'll be making much of a second run at them if the Nash/Hall angle comes to fruition, which it's likely to do.

Let's be honest here – TNA wants ratings. Unfortunately – much to the dismay of the tag team, and almost certainly because of how poorly they've been booked – the MCMG simply don't provide that ratings boost the way someone like Hall does. While I understand TNA's reasoning here, or their would-be reasoning, the mark in me for the MCMG can't help but feel like they've been fucked over one too many times, and as of right now the future is rather bleak.

That said, what are your thoughts on the potential for a Nash/Hall reunion? How do you feel this will really impact (no pun intended) the Motor City Machineguns, and what do you see in the immediate future for the TNA World Tag Team titles?

Moderator's Remarks - I merged these two threads, and placed this post in spoiler tags - Do not warn/infract.

There could be some familiar faces on the live TNA iMPACT! on January 4th. Sean Waltman has been telling friends in Mexico that he is heading back to the company, and that Scott Hall is coming with him. With Kevin Nash winning the tag team title shot in the Feast or Fired match, an Outsiders/Wolfpack reunion could be on the way. You would likely have Hogan, Nash, Hall, Waltman, and possibly Bischoff. TNA obviously wouldn't be able to use the nWo name due to trademark issues with WWE.

If this has been done im sorry

Nash is gonna screw EY over and join with Nash. Interesting if Hogan is coming in to be booked as face, are we all suppose to mark for Nash and Hall? I guess the answer is yes and they will be face against the BI. but don't foget what happen last time they booked Hall with Nash. that went over real poorly and I can't believe TNA upper brass would really give him such a push if he were to come in off the street. guess the Hogan Era has begun
