The Nasty Boys released from TNA!

Chicago1989

Ain't it sleep first then eat?
We reported several days ago that Eric Bischoff posted a Tweet hinting that The Nasty Boys were no longer working with TNA Wrestling. In an update to that story, HonkyTonkMan.net is now confirming that the tag team is in fact done with TNA and will no longer be working with the company.

Well I guess I'm gonna get my hands on this one but wooooo! The Nasty Boys are gone! I just gotta give out my opinion before anything because it's good news. Two of Hogan's cronies are gone for good and that leaves TNA with 2 less irrelevant, out of shape, hasbeens on the roster. I'm just loving it.

But at the same time, they weren't that much of a nuisance. They didn't have as much TV time as we thought they would and they were around for what? a month and a half?. But that's still good.

What are your thoughts on this?

They ran their course, and IMO stuck around about two weeks too long.

The initial feud with Team 3D as "invaders" I thought was successful, especially the promo both teams cut just prior to their match at the PPV where 3D asked them where the hell they'd been for the last decade while they were winning championships.

The nostalgia was OK IMO. Nothing spectacular, but certainly not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be.

I still think TNA dropped the ball with the feud though by not having a loser leaves town match at the PPV to have 3D win.

Personally, I am glad they are gone. The Nasty Boys were a waste of any television time they were given when the guys (and girls) that have been in TNA were not making it on Impact because Hogan's out of shape buddies were there.

They weren't as big of a problem as I expected them to be but a waste of time no less. Good riddance.

Oh Fuck, please tell me this is real. I'll wait for confirmation before I absolutely have a crazy joygasm over this news. If this is true, I feel pretty damn good right about now.

Thank god TNA (allegedly) decided that the two fat, talentless bastards that were riding Hogan's coat tails served no fucking purpose whatsoever. To bring name value to a brand, you would actually have to be a name. The Nasty Boys were never a big name tag team in the business.

So what have we learned from the Nasty Boys since the 4th of January? They absolutely sucked, yes. What purpose did they serve? To further put over a tag team that was in a completely stratosphere then they were in to begin with.

Fuck you Nasty Boys, don't let the door hit you in your talentless asses on the way out the door, allegedly.

This is the best damn news I have heard all day. Creed getting released was a bit of a bummer but this just makes it all okay. I never did understand why people love the Nasty Boys. They just never have been all that much as far as talent goes.

Thank goodness. Here's hoping that the tv time taken up by the Nasty Boys is given to the X division. Hopefully they keep Jimmy Hart because he could still be useful as a manager, just not as the manager of the Nasty Boys.

According to the Official website of the Honky Tonk Man (why this info comes from him I don't know):

"NASTY BOYS FIRED FROM TNA - 30th March 2010

We can confirm that the Nasty Boys, Knobbs & Sags, have been released from TNA.

Knobbs was involved in an incident at a TNA gathering where Spike TV executives were also present.

Spike were said to be very unhappy with his behaviour which resulted in both being let go by TNA management.

More on this story to come...

Steve Wilton
Webmaster"

So the Nasty Boys release didn't come from Hogan/Bischoff, but from Spike TV officials.

Fuck the Nasty Boys, those fat motherfuckers didn't deserve to be on TV one bit. Their initial run against 3D was really hard to watch and then they inexplicably stuck around another month despite the fact that the fat blonde one couldn't even take a friggin' bump.

Now let's see their time given to some of the young talents (How about the X Division or the #1 Tag Contending Motor City Machine Guns) and happily forget that those fat fucks were ever in TNA.

This is shaping up to be a great monday night......Now we just need to have the Wolfpac's music hit and I'll be happy. LOL

This has been TNA's best decisions in a long time.
Nasty's sucked and there was no point to them being there when Knobbs allegedly coldn't take the 3D

PRAISE THE LORD YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i don't care who's came up with it, i don't care what they did to get fired but they are back where they belong in a fuckin home or a buffet line

Thank god their gone maybe it's a sign that TNA is getting rid of dead weight. I don't think they necessarily hurt TNA while they were there. They definitely didn't help anything either. TNA will be better off without them. They can use their TV time for someone who will be there in the long term and help the company grow.

It was mind boggling that they beat team 3-D. I mean, the last time I saw them was when I saw Knobbs and that was near WCW's end.

we'll see if the reports are true though...

You know? After some thought on this for a bit I have to ask what the big deal was with the Nasty Boys in the first place? I have been watching wrestling since the early eighties and even back then I didn't get it. Hell, I even think that the team of Akeem and Big Boss Man was ten times better than these two clowns were. It seems to me that Jimmy Hart was the best thing about the group but even then he had better guys in his stable over the years. I just don't understand it. You could even put these guys in the ring with SWhawn Michaels and AJ Styles as a Tag tTeam VS them and it would suck because they wouldn't even be able to carry these two clowns through the match. Again, all I can say is "Thank God the are gone". It just feels good to type it again.

Now that they are gone. TNA will probably screw up again and bring another old washed up tag team from the E or WCW past. How bout they bring in the Rock N Roll Express and the Bushwackers just for old times sake and let them steal more airtime from the Machine Guns or Morgan & Hernandez. I'm done watching WCW all over again. Same old storylines and same old farts. I say Lights Out soon.

Finally there's some hope!!! Now only 5 has-beens/never-was guys left.
Oh and apparently Bischoff isn't a no talent jerk-off. He can play the guitar. Now if only he would learn something about wrestling instead of...you know playing guitar in a wrestling ring. I seriously thought i was watching the wrong show for a minute

Free at last, free at last! Thank God almighty TNA is free of these no talent hacks! Wow so Creed goes first and then the Nasty Boys. I could take or leave Creed but thank God TNA came to their senses on this. Hopefully next they can get Bubba out of the Impact Zone. The Nasty Boys served no purpose at all. At least with The Band they have a little nostalgia and can actually work. Even though I'm not a huge fan of them either.

It looks like a lot of talentless people have come to TNA asking for a job and TNA said no. Stasiak, Palumbo, Johnny Stamboli.. etc. Hopefully TNA will continue to trim the fat because they have too many wrestlers now as it is. I'm glad this debauchery is over. The Nasty Boys didn't take up too much television time, but there was no point in them being there at all.

Good news! They didn't do much and I didn't hate them nearly as much as the rest of the IWC seemed to but they served no purpose and didn't do anything worth of keeping them around therefore like any other talent if they are not useful then they should be gone. And if the rumors are true it doesn't surprise me at all the Knobs was the one who did something stupid and got them fired.

New member here, have to chime in by saying that I'm glad these guys are gone! None of the tag teams in TNA do much for me but it was pathetic watching these guys stomp around as if it was 1995. I'll take Morgan/Hernandez or Beer Money any day...

Thank god, thats at least one step in the right direction, the Nastys were too outdated and offered nothing. Now to get rid of Hall, Waltman, etc.

wow, why the fuck did they ever sign those old bags, I guess relations with Hogan really gets you money. they were in TNA for 3 months, 3 months of wasted money. I guess now that the nasty boys are out, theres not much room for Jimmy Hart anymore.
good job TNA, you threw out an already expired product

The Nasty Boys gone from TNA = YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!

If it wasn't for the spamming rules, that would be the end of my post and it would be perfect. Seriously though, the Nasty's matches in TNA weren't as bad as I feared, but they had no business going over Team 3D. And really, after that feud, what was next for them? Working an athletic match with the MCMG? HA!

I love how people keep rejoicing the "fat" and "dead weight" Nasty Boys are gone from TNA, and yet, people seem to have no problem with guys like Team 3D and Samoa Joe.

I'd point out the hypocrisy, but it should already be obvious. The Nasty Boys were every bit as useful as Team 3D or Samoa Joe, and probably weighed less than either of them. The Nasty Boys were never intended to be a long-term thing anyways...just something to get people watching.

I see Sly's point. I don't agree with it. I think it's short sighted of TNA - bad booking really that they were let go without 3D not being allowed to get a truly decisive win over them.

I'm not sure about the fact that they were something to watch Impact for. They didn't put anyone over and stunk up the screen every time they were on. I'm glad they were on a short term deal. I just think their "talents" could have been put to better use.

As usual, there's always gotta be that one person, that one buzzkiller....

Anyways, I didn't see how The Nasty Boys were as "useful" as Team 3D or Samoa Joe. In no way did they have any business coming back after ten years of irrelevance. But they're useful...and that they weigh less than them! What?!. I don't know if TNA brought up the "old school" ramp because of The Nasty Boys or not but either way, I'm sure they felt comfortable walking it.

And there's an obvious big difference between The Nasty Boys and fat guys like Team 3D and Samoa Joe. The Nasty Boys sure as hell can't work and be relevant with today's fans. If they were brought to TNA to be watched, short-term or not, I have no idea who would care..

I personally think it's good that they are gone. Sags looks ok, but Knobbs could barely walk to the ring, much less wrestle. I almost felt sorry for him being in such horrible shape. Somebody else in the thread said it best that they had run their course, so it was time.

By the way:

Oh Fuck, please tell me this is real. I'll wait for confirmation before I absolutely have a crazy joygasm over this news. If this is true, I feel pretty damn good right about now.

I almost pissed my pants I laughed so hard at this comment.

I think the word you are looking for is "logical person".

Because that's what I'm giving, logic. It seems to be lacking in many of the Team 3D fans in this thread.

Anyways, I didn't see how The Nasty Boys were as "useful" as Team 3D or Samoa Joe. In no way did they have any business coming back after ten years of irrelevance.
Let's see...The Nasty Boys are a team that would be known by 3 separate generations of wrestling fans, whereas Team 3D would be 2, and Samoa Joe...well, none.

Brian Knobbs was a regular guest on the popular Hogan Knows Best tv series, and Team 3D/Samoa Joe...were not.

What does Team 3D bring to the table that's so great? They're a bunch of fat idiots, who stiff other tag teams, are obscenely obese, can't move, don't sell, and don't provide name recognition. What makes them better than the Nasty Boys? At least people know who the Nasty Boys are.

And there's an obvious big difference between The Nasty Boys and fat guys like Team 3D and Samoa Joe. The Nasty Boys sure as hell can't work and be relevant with today's fans. If they were brought to TNA to be watched, short-term or not, I have no idea who would care..
Neither are Team 3D or Samoa Joe. Team 3D is a bunch of fat fucks who won't sell, and get by on an overrated memory of a 2 bit promotion, and Samoa Joe is arguably the most limited wrestler to win a World Championship in the last 30 years.

As I said, at least people know who The Nasty Boys are.
