I saw that, they posted it on their Twitter. I also saw who won KOT, and I marked out!! I was pulling for them. I am going to buy the DVDs when they come out tomorrow (At least, if they're not too expensive for my limited budget right now).
 
I've only ever seen one Archibald Peck promo, and none of his matches, but I mark for The Band. I just love that there's an actual marching band gimmick in CHIKARA, and Veronica is cute.

I look forward to watching the event...

yeah, I'm gonna have to see this CHIKARA stuff at some point. 1-2-3 fucking Kid? Hell yes, that's all types of awesome. And a MARCHING BAND GIMMICK?! Damn.
 
They are really about the fans, they do crazy things in their matches. For instance they hypnotize their opponents, fight in slow motion and other funny things. Things that can only be appreciated by watching.

My only problem is some of that stuff I find a bit stupid. The super-fake can't even pretend it's real stuff (slow-mo, hypnosis, etc). It's funny, but it's stupid at the same time to me.
 
I really think showing up to King of Trios as 1-2-3 Kid may have saved Waltman's life or at least improved it. All reports say that not only was he overwhelmed by the positive reaction he got as Kid, he also had an incredible match with Generico and in his Trios match. He gave a thank you speech afterwards saying how much it meant to him and got a huge ovation, and when the audience stopped clapping you could still hear the boys in the back applauding him. And then he wrote the letter, and it looks to be completely genuine. Awesome.

Stormtrooper, CHIKARA is like a real life comic book or cartoon, whereas WWE is a live action soap opera. Imagine it like that and you'll probably enjoy the funny stuff more. Also, CHIKARA has comedy but also a lot of great matches to go along with it.

I can't wait to get the DVDs. I need to find things to sell for money... :lmao:
 
I respect that, it's a good argument. I'm at the point tho in wrestling that anything that is new and entertaining I like. I really just want to laugh even if I know it's stupid. Trust me if there is a 20 min match going on where they go fast paced for 15 min and then for the 16-17 min range they fight in slow motion it's great. They don't over due the nonsense so it stays funny.

Green Ant entered the contest, once again copying a storyline the WWF had used with Lex Luger and Yokozuna in 1993, but before he could complete the bodyslam, he was tripped by BDK member Jakob Hammermeier. Later that day, The Colony advanced to the semifinals of the 2011 King of Trios by defeating BDK representatives Tim Donst, Delirious and Hammermeier, after Green Ant bodyslammed the interfering Tursas and then submitted Hammermeier with Luger's trademark finisher, Torture Rack
 
I just found some of my creative writing shit I did from waaaaaaay back in HS, I wrote some seriously fucked up shit, fucked up in that I'm shocked I was never sent to shrink, especially considering that around the time I wrote the majority of this shit was when there was a rash of school shooting going on...

for fuck sake I have a story where several criminals break out of prison, and hold a HS hostage, and go as far to to execute several students and teachers just to make a point...:wtf:

Damn that shits fucked up. You're right about the whole shoulda seen a shrink think, Jasonsane (lol, that Macios guy still called you Jason)....

To be fair the story does have a somewhat happy ending, in that all but one of the criminals die horrific deaths, and the one that gets away manges to get to the interstate where he tries to hitchhike, only to have his hand ripped off after a passing semi clips while he's sticking his thumb out. The semi driver looks in his mirror to see what he hit but doesn't see anything cause the hitchhiking criminal went down immediately and rolled into the ditch out of sight, the semi driver just shrugs and says " Hmm musta been another stupid bird", story then cuts back to bloody criminal laying in ditch clutching the bloody stump where his hand used to be, and starts to go into shock, and that's where it ends

Also had a story about a hockey player who's a superhero, think Casey Jones (for TMNT) meets Batman. Pretty cool idea however I clearly either didn't put much effort into this or wasn't given much time
 
My stories from my middle/high school days were pretty crazy. Full of plot holes and madness and they were really fucking weird. I can't bring myself to read them again because of how stupid I'm sure they are.

Also, just downloaded Audiosurf, hell yeah.
 
I have to train a Ukrainian on how to do part of my job... this is going to suck, only cause I don't speak very good broken English
 
I think I might try something different for my Comic Spotlight this week, I might do a event that is currently going on, could be interesting

Also pretty sure I'll never doing another GL event, as that was a complete failure
 
Kinda hope APPLE sticks around for a bit, at least have them feud long enough to have a match with Corre at ER, also wouldn't mind seeing Bryan/Bourne as tag champs
