How awesome is this gif?

NEEE.gif

Because I thought it would be funny to pick guys like Carlito and One Man Gang. Plus, everyone loves an underdog story. And I really don't get into the tournament at all.

And yes, Remix, that GIF is indeed awesome.

I didn't know if you were trying to take some kind of stand against Hogan, Rock, and Cena or if you were just bullshitting. Just curious. To each his own.

Come on, Brain, Stevie Richards is awesome.

And yeah SSC, it took me until the Royal Rumble but I started to really like Chavo. He could be a nice midcard face, I think. He's fun in the ring and could use the Guerrero name for some cheers.

Apparently he turned down the push that Rey got when Eddie died because he didn't want to use Eddie's name for his own gain. Interesting.

You don't like the tourney, Doc? I love it, it's actually the reason I started posting again last summer, I had been on a sort of hiatus before that. Still, I think I'm more excited at the prospect of another Battle Dome tourney.

I don't know what it is about the tourney, honestly. I love wrestling, and I love wrestling history, but something about it just bores me. I do want another Battle Arena tourney, or at least do the thing that JMT suggested with the fantasy team battle.

I love and hate it. It's fun, it's a great chance to learn about a lot of guys you may have never heard of before, and it's usually got enough surprises to keep me interested.

On the other side, though, people lose their fucking heads. I'm sick of the American Style/Japanese Style war. Americans aren't ignorant if they aren't interested in/don't enjoy Puro. Puro fans aren't being ***** for pushing the guys they like, just like I do. Everyone expects everyone else to conform to their criteria for voting, making many threads break down into needless arguments. Wrestling is such a large product, with something for many many people to enjoy in their own ways. People choosing to be so fucking narrow about everything makes me shy away from getting more involved than I am.

Yeah, you put it better than I could have. It makes people take things way too seriously. The only reason those people don't get shat on is because they're getting angry over wrestlers, instead of insults thrown by other people.

Serious stuff.

I had my fun in the Kobashi vs Hart thread. Haven't looked at any of the tourney threads since. I should probably vote for Barrett before he's eliminated though.

yeah, I've been having a hard time posting in any of the tournament threads, mainly because either what I would say has already been said, or more importantly I can't think of a good reason why Lance Storm would beat Jack Briscoe (that's how I voted).

Lance bores him to death?
come on, man. Be serious for a minute....

Obviously Storm is exponentially more athletic, and that's really the only thing that he really has over Brisco. Although also you could argue that if Storm came around 20 years earlier, he'd have been a much bigger star then he ultimately was, and Brisco somewhat less of one if he was around 20 years later. Either way, I'd pay to see the matchup, it'd be that good.

How about you just enjoy him more? Isn't that good enough reason? Why are our favorites our favorites? Do we just auto-like the ones with the best records and all that other shit? No, we go with what we love. Some people like stats. Some people like style. Some people like technical aptitude. Some people like smut. At the end of the day, all of them are still a part of wrestling, and regardless of the money they may or may not have made, to us, the individual, they are "over". Face it, in wrestling, anyone can be booked to win if they're over enough with the crowd. So shouldn't being over with the individual be a valid enough reason to vote for someone to win a match?

I'm voting Daniel Bryan for everything, because unlike Sly he doesn't bore me, and I love his nerdy character and enjoy watching his matches.

Simples.

If I post: "I'm voting for Lance Storm over Jack Brisco because I like him", I believe that would be considered spam. At the very worst, it would be a shit post that would get me copious amounts of Red Rep.

Voting can be decided as such, but posting really can't, unless one can make explanations as to why they could win.

It took me a week to come up with a logical reason for Richards over the Rock.
