You guys are starting to lose me with all these Japanese characters. God damn foreign imports are ruining America!

You and me both, I feel the same way when they add Japanese & Mexican wrestlers to the the wrestling tourny, same if we do a Movie tourny and they add a bunch of foreign shit, bu meh, I just skip that stuff and focus one the stuff I like and know shit about

I remember Batman vs. Wolverine! That was an awesome one. My favorite fights last year were probably that one, Light vs. Onslaught (because I was not letting Light go out without a fight :lmao:) and MegaMan vs. Megazord. MegaMan just barely won that last one if I remember.

As I've said before, I'm more than ready to help you here Doc.

And you too, of course. I'll need all the help I can get, I get scatterbrained at times, haha.

Are any of you any good at making videos, like a highlight reel of what could be the characters' "Greatest Hits"? That could be really useful in the opening posts.

It's a tad different when it comes to this stuff though. Manga & Anime are becoming more and more recognisable in the USA and all over the English speaking world as time goes on. Hell, almost $200 Million is made from the manga industry in the US and Canada.

Like I say, I'll try and have a combination of the two, with the most recognizable or interesting characters. Plus, with videos people can see what the characters are capable of even if they've never seen the series in question.

I actually know a fair bit about foreign film, but that's mostly because I'm a cinema studies-communications major.

I'm smelling an America Fuck Yeah stable.

I think that was one of the problems last year. The OP's featured A LOT of writing. That put me off as a noob.

The funny part is, the OPs were only the rules, and it was the same in every thread. None of them really had any info about the characters at all :lmao:

I was thinking about how I'd do it. I think listing their powers would be good. The great thing about comics and even video games is that it's up to the reader/player to use their imagination to explore the powers of the heroes. As a really simple example, if Cyclops was fighting someone he could fire his optic blast at a gas tank that his enemy was near causing to explode.

Similarly, I think there should be stages, kind of like in Super Smash Bros. We could pick like, 10 or 15 different arenas based on various characters, like the Batcave, The Danger Room, Mortal Kombat arena, etc. That way the posters can use their imaginations to predict how the combatants would use their environment.

I love the stages idea, that would make it even more fun!

I just checked and they didn't archive last year's tourney, just totally deleted it. :(

I thought you'd like the stages idea. It might be seen as complicating things, but I think it'll be even more fun. I'd love to see how Magneto would fight Mario on The Death Star, or something along those lines.

Could you imagine trying to have a fight between Light and Ryu in the Daily Bugle?
Man, that'd be great! Ryu would be chopping desks while Light is diving behind chairs and things, frantically trying to write Ryu's name in the Death Note. Mis could be relaying him instructions since she could see Ryu's full name...

Exciting!

Yeah, I love it. I'm thinking a stage for each character, like in a fighting game, but for the more obscure ones we'd just have general stages (A cathedral, a clock tower, etc.) plus ones from other universes, like for characters we couldn't fit in the tournament.

And this all would be selected randomly of course.

Donkey Kong vs. Superman seems like a bad match up for Donkey Kong. I'd give any other human character the benefit of the doubt for obtaining krpytonite, but not Donkey Kong.

I think one of the stages will have to be in a WWE TLC match. Spider-Man puts Batman through the Spanish announce table only to be hit over the head with the Batchair moments later.

That would make for a good stage for Super Hogan. Since Super Hogan is comic book superman can-do-anything Hogan (But is still human, important point there) then he wouldn't have any trouble with ladders and tables and chairs like the real one supposedly would.

Legdrop on Light through a table, bah gawd they've killed him
