I don't hate on country music. I just don't enjoy much of what I've heard in the genre.

I do like bluegrass though.

The match was no classic if you go back and rewatch it, but at the time it was chock full of emotion. I didn't notice any overselling, and the match had tons of drama and no narm (funny bits meant to be serious) at the time.

Tis true. The match was great when it happened, but after watching it again on the best of PPV DVD it wasn't nearly as good. Definitely not as good as their first match. But it was still a decent match.

But the thing is, PPVs are only supposed to be watched once, right? Everything gets boring if you watch/read/play it over and over. A book is never as good the second time you read it.

Disagree. Some books and movies are actually better a second time around but they tend to be of a slightly more intellectual level than your average wrestling match. It is true watching PPV matches out of context can fall flat. Then again it is not like the build for it was that long ago and if it cannot even stand up through one re-viewing a few months later then there likely were some flaws you simply missed the first time. Not everyone missed those in that match at the time anyway.

Somehow missed you had a thing for Goldust as well. We are up to two things in common.

You got me there. There are some books and movies you can watch again and again to look at the little details.

I think when you watch a match (read a book, see a movie) the first time around, you watch it for something different than when you watch it the second time around. The first time you're in it for the story. The second time you're in it for the match (details, individual performances, writing style).

Expectations can have an interesting effect as well. Ever seen a movie that the trailers horribly mislead you about? It is almost impossible to judge it fairly at the time. Similar things can happen in wrestling depending on if you were expecting an especially good or an especially bad match. For me, the second hbk-taker probably was hurt by expecting an especially great match effect. The build was almost too much. Too much anticipation almost always leaves you disappointed when reality comes around. What was amazing about their first matchup was it exceeded the already lofty expectations.

Again, you're right on point. To me, though, it was a great match because of the expectations. I wasn't trying to see a great wrestling match, I was expecting a great storytelling match.

I'm right there with you on those feelings Doc. I wasn't expecting as great of a match as WM 25, quite frankly I don't think it could have ever been better than WM 25 b/c of how people had held that match to such high regards that even if WM 26 was better people still would probably say that it wasn't. I actually felt that HBK had a better shot this year than last year to end the streak b/c his career was on the line and I didn't think his last match would be against the Undertaker but I was wrong and the rest is recent history.

Yep. Can't change it now. I loved that PPV, except the crowd was terrible.

I can't wait for Summerslam. I hope the big angle tomorrow has something to do with a shock return of a wrestler to join the team. In my heart I want it to be Daniel Bryan, but my mind knows that's never going to happen.

I may try and watch a little bit of HardCORE Justice today, for the lulz.

I like toast.

No, but it doen't matter. The WWE can hire him back if they want, I think. The 90 day clause only applies to other televised companies. At least I believe so...hope so... :(

I can't wait until he comes back. He's my favorite. (I think you already guessed that).

I'm going to work on the next episode of SCW today. Hopefully get pretty far.

speaking of SCW, you know how somebody (I believe Eli Cottonwood) was/is going to use The Celtic War Sword as a finisher? Have everybody he delivers it to sell it like they were hit by a tank, except Daniel Bryan who just goes "fuck you, I'm not selling that shit" before kicking his ass seven ways to Sunday.

I knew they could take him back any time, I was curious because he'll be open to other companies soon enough. He seems to take subtle TNA jabs more often than he bags on WWE at his shows (the crowd is a different story). I can't wait to see him on TV again.

I need to make some time tonight to enjoy some SCW.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he has no real ill feelings to the WWE and vice versa, and it seems they'll want to work together again. The 90 days aren't up until around Survivor Series I believe, which would make for a great reason to return, but I'd rather he be on Team Cena :(

And please read SCW and tell me what you think when you're done :)

I suspect we're going to get a couple of ZOMG shockers to be on the team. the ZOMG shockers being the most obvious guys. I.e. Bourne and the Dynasty. One wonders how Nexus are going to kill Bret Hart this time.

I think Bret is gonna be in the match. I also think maybe for some ungodly reason we see Bret turn and join Nexus.

And as much as I enjoy Daniel Bryan Danielson, he did get fired. I don't know why people are acting like he got is 100% certain to come back. I want him to, but until I see him on WWE TV, I can't expect it.

I'm hoping we get at least one legit shocker. Like, I don't know, Triple H or The Undertaker.

But probably not.

DO NOT WANT!

It's speculated because apparently the top brass didn't want to fire him, and Danielson knows damn well how much better his life would be in WWE compared to on the indies. It's win-win for the involved parties to bring him back sharpish.

It certainly is a win-win. Plus he has real life momentum from this, and is talented enough to take advantage of said momentum. TNA would have a field day if they had him. "The man too violent for WWE". Imagine that. The quicker WWE brings him back, the better.

Yep, he could either come back as a surprise dude who wins one team the match at Survivor Series, or later on to give the Nexus a target for a month or two so Barrett can get some singles action with Bryan.

I hope when he does resurface that WWE have told him to stop wearing maroon.

DO NOT WANT![/wuote]
I don't disagree. I just can't see any reason for Bret to be on the team. I know he got beat up by them, but he doesn't belong in the match.

I want him back, but as I said, it's not like he's under contract or anything. Until he's back in a WWE ring, it's all speculation.

Edge and Jericho are probably going to rejoin, and Bret will only act as manager, giving his spot in the match to DANIEL BRYAN! Evan Bourne.

Nah, Nexus are going to fucking kill Hart again. He'd be a shit manager anyway. Traditionally the ability to cut a promo is required. ANd that's something Bret can not and will not do.

I meant he'll be there as a symbol without wrestling. Everyone else will talk while he stands there and looks impressive because he's a hall of famer.

Or Nexus will kill him and Cena will replace him with DANIEL BRYAN :'( Evan Bourne.
