So I just had an interesting debate on symbols and idol worship at church. It kind of makes me want to make a CL thread, if I can think about what I want to say.

Question, what's wrong with representing a diety in the form of an idol (as long as it's a christian one (i.e. Jesus) and then putting it in somewhere where you pray? Not all that different from the pretty pictures that typically adourne catholic churches. Also couldn't some relics be considered idols?

Well the debate was more where the line between symbols and idol worship is.

My mentor today was the shit. Apparently on Tuesdays and Thursdays we are shadowing someone for a few hours. My mentor was an openly gay female who wrked with the Seminary magazine.
