The Bullshiting About Comics Thread w/ Justin & Friends

Picked up some new comics, mostly DC stuff this trip (which is really odd, as I'm more of a Marvel guy), picked up Hulk# 35, Superman/Batman #85, & Flashpoint #1 & 2 (I saw they re-released Flashpoint #1 and since they're only 2 issues in, I figured I'd follow this now)

New comic book movie of the month for you all the post on click on the link in my sig should you feel the desire to voice your opinion on Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Thanks for the response to Kraven by the way Justin.

No problem, that was a pretty easy post to make since I fucking hate Kraven, such a annoying villain to read, he's one of those guys that when I pick up an issue and see he's going to be the main villain I can't help but cringe

Read teh ft 2 issues, of Flashpoint yesterday, holy shit is this some good stuff, I'm hooked for the rest of this, and prolly gonna be picking up some more of the one-off's and mini's, very interesting, possibly better than Fear Itself even, which I'm loving btw

I picked up ten books today, and nine of them were X-Men Legacy. The other book I bought was Uncanny X-Force 1... I'm going to have to buy all 11 if I can.

I bought 2 new books, and a trade, then walked out of the comic shop to discover some dick had decided to back into my car smashing in the entire rear driver side & then left without leaving his inforomation, I went form happy to have new comics to extremely pissed in about 2.5 seconds

Oh I bought Reverse Flash #1, Lois Lane & the Resistance #1, & Locke & Key vol. 2 Head Games, this was the first week that I have not bought a single Marvel book at all, feels kinda weird, Lois Lane book was decent, not sure if I'm going to continue and pick up the rest of this Flashpoint spin off mini though, Reverse Flash I liked, gave a lot of background on him and has me interested, I'm thinking I'm gonna stick with this, and pick up the other 2 issue of this mini. The Flashpoint arc as a whole right is far far more interesting than I ever thought it was gonna be, & I'm really loving it. Locke & Key vol.2 I haven't started yet, but I absolutely loved the first vol. and can't wait to jump into the second.

Well that sucks, Justin. At least you got some comics to soften the blow.

Have you seen Green Lantern yet? I saw it yesterday and I thought it was pretty bad... to say the least.

I thought it was cliche, predictable, and that Ryan Reynolds plays an awful hero. He shouldn't play anyone that isn't almost a total self-absorbed douche.

I'm late on the whole seeing X-Men First Class movie, but I saw it last Saturday, and my urge to punch the screen for fucking up the source material aside, I enjoyed the living hell out of it.

Let's see, on the docket tonight:

Deadpool #39
Ultimate Spider-Man #160 (I have to see the "Death of Spider-Man"
Wolverine #11
Fear Itself: Alpha Flight #1

And that's about it for now.

So yeah, not liking the new look for Superman at all

Its better then Batman being black now. I am sorry, I dont want anyone to be batman other then Bruce Wayne. EVER. Black, White, Purple, Pink.

Suicide Squad definitely looks like it could be one of the more interesting new DCU titles to come out with the massive reboot

I'm really looking forward to the new Justice League book the most though, Flash, Suicide Squad, Grifter, Action Comics, & a few of the bat books & GL books are also stuff I'm looking forward to checking out with the reboot. Really curious as to how Morrison is going "modify & update" the origin of Superman, it's either gonna be really good, or an absolute disaster

That's pretty strange. Usually Marvel and DC keep guys from the 70's and 80's at arms-length. No idea why, just seems to have been there method as of late.

They had to get rid of the underoos. That look just doesn't work anymore. Anyways, i think the costume being changed is something DC is going to end up having to do anyway. The lawsuit over the Origin of Superman isn't going away. Perhaps they are changing the suit to reflect the costume for the Man Of Steel Movie? That movie has been pretty tight lipped as far as information being leaked.

Pretty much I think i'm done collecting individual books and just going to stick with Trade Paperback from now on.

I keep hearing about the lawsuit, & I'm sure that has something to do with it, I just think the new look could have been much much better, the metallic boots alone just annoy the shit out of me for some reason.

I'm finding the big events are much easier & more enjoyable to read when you have the whole story collected in front of you, that said there's a part of me that just still enjoys going to the comic shop each week and picking up all my new books for the week. However there are some that I just have to read in tpb form, Locke & Key is a perfect example of that
