Pre-Show Stalwart
Every year even if just for a few months there is a "big" angle or storyline of the year in WWE. Well considering this year may be like no other year, considering it seems like we have the top 2 matches for next years WrestleMania already set, there is going to be a need for a storyline to occupy the Summer especially for those who are already headed to WM.
With that said, I present my idea for the "big" angle of 2011:
The Youth movement vs The Established Stars.
Yes I know its been done before (New Blood vs Millionaires Club in WCW, and The Main Event Mafia vs The TNA Originals) but never in the WWE.
This would not just be a Raw or Smackdown storyline this will be a WWE storyline, which means more cross show interaction which is never a bad thing both for show quality and ratings.
The birth of the Angle:
The start of this could happen around June when there are two 3-hour Raws planned. One of these shows is rumored to be the draft show and those shows always have every superstar at them so it would explain the interaction.
The main event of the draft show could be John Cena vs Edge for the final pick of the draft. As the match progress's Wade Barrett comes out on stage and down the ramp, reminiscent of last June when the Nexus angle started. as Edge and Cena battle there is the usual ref bump, and Barrett hits the apron. Cena and Edge stop battling and stare at Barrett, assuming he reformed Nexus or has the Corre waiting to attack. Barrett is alone and steps down off the apron and backs up half way up the ramp. As Cena and Edge look confused, out comes the "Youth movement" of 2010 (Dolph Ziggler, Jack Swagger, Sheamus, Evan Bourne, Cody Rhodes, Drew McEntyre, Kofi Kingston, Ted DiBiase, The Corre, and a reformed Hart Dynasty) standing behind Barrett. Faces and heels united and charge the ring and inflict such a beating to Cena and Edge, it makes last year look like a church outing. Missing from the initial group would be John Morrison, Daniel Bryan and C.M. Punks reformed "New" Nexus. Raw goes off the air with destruction and chaos, but thankfully no one choked out with a tie.
Friday Night Smackdown opens with Barrett and the army addressing the actions of Monday night. Basically saying that in 2010 these men were suppose to be the future and break out stars but were pushed aside for the old veterans and same old repetitive matches. Barrett goes on to mention that they all felt disrespected when both HHH and 'Taker said they look in the locker room and see no challenges left. Barrett mentions he put 'Taker in a grave and 'Taker didn't think anything of him to want revenge. Sheamus mentions that he took out HHH for almost a year and the first thing HHH did was challenge 'Taker and not even think about Sheamus. One of the more shocking members of the group KOFI KINGSTON says he joined Barrett because just when he was making a name for himself, the WWE "machine" stopped him, and he is pretty sure he knows why (race card angle). Big Show, Kane, Santino, and Kozlov come out and challenge any 4 members to an 8 man tag, which gets accepted for later in the show.
As smackdown progress's a mixed tag match is announced putting Melina and Cody Rhodes vs Trish Stratus and John Morrison. As Trish has Melina well in control, Melina is able to make the tag to Cody, and as Trish moves to tag JoMo, he hops off the apron abandoning Trish to get destroyed by Cody & Melina. After Melina scores the pin JoMo and her hug and make out revealing their off screen relationship. Todd Grishom catches up with JoMo and Melina back stage asking about what just happened, and JoMo cuts a promo about the current and real heat between the 2 of them and Trish about WM 27. (Backstory:Credit to NODQ.com: The backstory behind Morrison's awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina's spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was anything but rude to her. Behind the scenes, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their match at WrestleMania XXVII, and was said to be very difficult to work with)
Now on the the Smackdown Main Event, Big Show/Kane/Kozlov/Santino vs 4 Members of Team Barrett which turn out to be Barett, Sheamus, Kofi, and McEntyre. As the match turns into chaos, a chair is thrown in the ring. Santino hits the cobra on Drew to take the chair from him, and then levels the Big Show with it. Team Barrett hits the ring and the 3 faces are left laying again. As Team Barrett celebrates Santino asks for the mic, and in PERFECT ENGLISH, says he is tired of being a joke. He is a former 2-time I-C Champion and from here on in will show the world what he is really made of. SD ends with all of The MOVEMENT, celebrating in the ring.
That is part 1 I will post part 2 tomorrow, please feel free to comment, give ideas, mock whatever your honest opinion is. Thank you.
