Just read the results, and my initial reaction is "I guess I gotta watch Raw now".
Kevin Nash, huh?
That's a legit surprise, and I suppose this is a convoluted, BUT effective way to transition the Punk/Cena angle from a possible hotshot to something long-term.
The WWE were in somewhat of a dilemma (by their own standards of course), because you don't want Punk to lose cleanly and forsake all of his momentum.
But the the WWE has an annoying aversion to having Cena lose cleanly--despite how little it would hurt him in the grand scheme of things.
Having it happen twice on ppv was unlikely to say the least.
Having HHH involved indicted such an obvious screwjob, twisting his count with Cena's foot on the rope leaves the option of it not being a mistake, but it allows Punk to pin Cena with it seeming like a significant loss.
I don't know how I feel about ADR being champion right now, but I'll give him this.
In a company filled with boring, cookie cutter dudes who flounder in the midcard, at least Del Rio looks like someone who could be a star, can cut a promo, and isn't terrible in the ring.
Basically, he's no less credible as a champion right now than Sheamus or The Miz were when they won for the first time.
My issue is with him being champ right now; mainly because I can sense him easily getting lost in the shuffle and just being a placeholder chickenshit heel who fades back into the midcard after he loses the title.
I don't know if he's over enough to stand out in a feud like this, but I guess time will tell. Heard he didn't get much of a reaction when he won, so they've got to work on getting people to card about him more in this feud or he's going to be kicked out of it quick.
At least they've got a decent cliffhanger with Nash's involvement and Punk didn't "get BERRIED!" with a clean loss to Cena.
