*Spoilers* Somebody explain what's going on with Sin Cara

A Mexican's mask is his identity and a major tradition there. Basically, WWE is taking a total shit on that and saying "fuck it, we'll just slap the mask on someone else because we are WWE and are bigger than Mexico and their history". It surely doesn't help that WWE was so hellbent on signing Mistico and now they just seem to give up him. The Mexican demographic may likely get pissed, Mexican wrestlers may find WWE's actions disrespectful and WWE may lose favoring there. I know most american wrestling fans won't give a damn, but Jesus, how about a sense of respect for tradition WWE?

Mexicans came to my country and stole all my jobs, how about they respect ME.

Kay?

EDIT: I'm clearly kidding, people. Someone's gonna think otherwise, might as well clarify.

Not to disagree with you but didn't AAA do something very similar to La Parka (the original one) when he came back to Mexico? They put another wrestler in his outfit and called him La Parka and forced the original to change his name to LA Park because of the legal action AAA took to bar the original from being billed as La Parka in Mexico. I realize that AAA owned the rights to the La Parka character but the WWE owns the rights to the Sin Cara character so they can do the same thing in this situation unfortunately. In this situation Mistico does not own the rights to the character, thus why he became Sin Cara rather than give up his rights to the Mistico name and character, unless of course CMLL owns the rights to the character and name themselves.

They do and you're right. However, they never hid the fact it was someone totally different and pointed it out. These legal issues also were looked down on for some time until LA Park patched things and rejoined.

CMLL owns the Mistico rights, I believe. That doesn't hide the fact we saw in WWE TV how Mistico took that mask off to show the Sin Cara one. To anyone not in the IWC, it's still Mistico under that mask. And that's the issue.

That's a very good point, the La Parka situation was the only one I could think of that would be comparable to the Sin Cara situation. I do agree though that in traditional lucha libre this type of switch would be seen as highly disrespectful. Hopefully if Mistico does leave he can go back to Mexico and return with his original mask and character at least.

If WWE goes through with this, they can just kiss my ass. Fucking disgusting.
Wow, someone takes wrestling way too seriously.

It's the WWE's mask, not Mexico or it's history's.

It surely doesn't help that WWE was so hellbent on signing Mistico and now they just seem to give up him.
Think about this line for a second, and then realize how stupid it is to look at this situation on its face value. Just take a moment to consider what's going on here.

Perhaps...PERHAPS...might you think there's more to this story than the WWE simply likes the other guy better?

I blame my mother.

So it's OK if they take Rey's mask and put it on someone else, right? Besides Suicide and the Park/Parka deal, I don't recall stupidity like this going down anywhere.

WWE hires/pushes a guy, it doesn't work out how they planned, they try all sorts of shenanigans to make something out it. Same old, same old. I know.

I guess. I'm still not happy. Not that I ever am though.

Me too.

Sure, why not? Of course, Rey has had his WWE mask for a decade. The Sin Cara mask has been around for 2-4 months.

This is a pretty minor deal, and stupid things happen in wrestling all the time.

By not working how how they planned, what you really mean is the guy they pushed violates their Wellness policy. Then comes back, and is mysteriously sent home...connecting dots yet?

Who cares? If Mistico gets fired, he'll work in Mexico again by the end of next month. If he doesn't, he's getting paid to not work. Sin Cara remains on TV, either way.

Why care?

Average WWE fans are not going to be able to tell the difference between Mistico's working style and Huncio's fighting style considering that WWE probably has their own criteria of how the Sin Cara character should be portrayed.

The Sin Cara character makes the WWE money, so they'll keep milking the character even if they have to get a white guy to play him.

Man, FUCK Hunico. Mistico is awesome, I really hope they aren't stupid enough to send him back to Mexico. Hunico just moves wrong, looks wrong, and sucks.

Sin Cara without Mistico is barely Sin Cara at all.

Mistico is a much worse mover man. He prances across the ring like a diva. Everthing he does in between the flips is like watching Kelly Kelly.

I prefer Mistico as Sin Cara. Not because I think of him as the original and therefore he should be the only one to play him. No, I just like to see a small, fast guy do crazy flips every so often. Nothing wrong with that.

Maybe they should make a whole team of Sin Caras, call them the Sin Carangers. Have a red one, a blue one, a green one, a yellow one, and a pink one. Each one could have a personality, like the red one could be a submission specialist and the yellow one could be Yoshi Tatsu and the pink one could be Kelly Kelly. Then they all turn heel, until the real Sin Cara returns in his awesome white MITB gear, and defeats them all week-by-week, assimilating their colors into his ring attire until he's a rainbow Sin Cara.

Sounds like bad 90's TV to me. Let's do it!

This all sounds very CHIKARA.

Sin Cara bores me to tears. However, they wouldn't keep the character around for no reason. Maybe he's selling t-shirts, sucking Vince's pee-pee, who the fuck knows.

As long as this guy can pull off a few hurricanranas, who gives a shit.

Quite odd indeed. Why bring him all the fuck the way up to Canada just to tell him to piss off?

On another note, it doesnt really matter, Hunico did a very good job, nearly better in my opinion. Furthermore if he, y'know, speaks english. Does he speak english? WWE could use this as a bit of a title to be obtained, something they could tempt the best Lucha performers with, the possibility of coming in to be Sin Cara.

That... actually sounds like a good idea.
