Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

There's a presumably terrible American version, but you might like this:

Oh, and Luther. The television series, not the the member. Look up what it is if you don't know - I'm pretty sure everyone would like the premise.

I've had every episode of Luther sitting on my external drive for months.

One of these days, man. One of these days.

I hate chiming in, but I'm reading your god damned thread every day anyway.

One 'smashing' piece of British television that was overlooked as far as I can tell was BBC's Good Cop. It's only four episodes long thus far, though I have no clue what its situation is, and its about a 'good cop' exploring the morally grey area of killing off an entire gang of thugs for beating up his friend.

There are also B-plots which appeal to the human nature of the viewing audience.

All in all, it's 'Bang-Tidy' and only about four hours long.

(Though the theme tune isn't as good as the extended version of The Bill's, with its cool keyboard and abusively short key change.)

I came up with another one in bed last night, but getting up to get my phone seemed a lot of effort. I've since forgotten what it was. Stay tuned.

Fun fact - when I was at school, bear in mind this was in like 2004/5 and the production values were about 10 years out of date, I put The Day Today on in the common room, and several people thought it was the actual news.

It's inexcusable that The Rock would miss episodes of Raw on the run up to Mania to promote such trash as G.I. Joe.

Trance almost got 5 stars...then the film carried on for 10 more minutes. I also don't think it's a spoiler to say that Rosario Dawson goes full-frontal, if that sways people into seeing the film in any way. It would have me.

Rather ingeniously, Spring Breakers has James Franco reprising Gary Oldman's character from True Romance. Unsurprisingly, it's the best bit of the entire film.

"Look at my shit! Look at my shit! This is the American dream, y'all!"

Also, there's a lot of tits and dubstep. Loses a star for a wet fart ending.

Trance is very clever-clever, but I found it hard to care-care. At least it doesn't fall apart upon inspection like most 'gimmick' films these days. You were right about those last ten minutes though.

My screening came with a special thank you from Danny Boyle at the start. Get me!

Any of the principles get their boobs out in Spring Breakers, Sam?

Oh yeah, it's WrestleMania this weekend. That means only a few weeks to Extreme Rules. Yay!

Oh, I nearly forgot - Jeff Jarrett's in Spring Breakers! And it has My Little Pony in it. All the no-hopers on here would love it.

My brother has gone to see Derren Brown in Stoke, is getting pissed there and is describing it on Facebook as a "proper inbred one horse town."
