Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Well, he grew up in Charlton, so he knows a one horse town when he sees one. Six games in twenty-one. Fuck off, Leeds. Fuller was fantastic, irritatingly.

Also, both films yesterday were preceded by a WrestleMania advert. What a fucking eventful day, eh?

For a moment I thought (Finally!) WrestleMania was coming to the Odeon.

Stoke are going down unless DiCanio fucks up at Sunderland. So it might be Stoke vs. Charlot next year. That sounds like a skipper.

Why is it so hard to watch WrestleMania somewhere that isn't my living room? Not that I'd go out to see it - work in the morning.

"Charlot"? You cunt!

There's something really sad about paying for something on Box Office that's on in the middle of the night, that you'll watch alone and sober. That's why I'm getting pissed and streaming.

Took me a while to warm to Sping Breakers. Then James Franco started talking about all hist shit and he sung Britney Spears and he had me in the palm of his hand.

Was WrestleMania a good show? I was ridiculously druink so I enjoyed every second of it. I suspect it might've been very average though.

That was a rather pleasant surprise. I mean, it went a bit Johnny English at the end there but no harm done.

Brilliantly, The Place Beyond the Pines sneaks three movies into one. Less brilliantly, each movie is progressively less interesting than the last, with a less charismatic protagonist. They're ★★★★, ★★, and ★ respectively. Unfortunately, it's technically all one movie.

Ryan Gosling has to be the blandest leading man I've seen in a long time. Probably since those strange few years when Orlando Bloom got roles.

I'll see The Place Beyond The Pines...well, when I fucking feel like it. Ideally I'd be watching that right now instead of The Man With The Iron Fists. Jebus, what a surprisingly dull film!

Gosling usually gets a lot of praise, because he can be a "serious" actor with versatility. Although, I've never seen (and probably never will) Crazy, Stupid, Love. But I never understood the outcry of Gosling being snubbed for The Ides Of March. That wasn't an Oscar worthy performance.

Orlando Bloom is terrible, but I didn't mind him in the Lord Of The Rings films or the Pirates films (certain sequels would've been awful with or without him), because he wasn't the center of attention. And I've never seen Kingdom Of Heaven, hope I'm not missing anything.

I, and I believe Sam as well, are still to watch Kingdom Of Heaven. It just looks so long!

I find Gosling to be a serious actor and nothing more. He doesn't show much range at all as far as I can see. Softly spoken and miserable makes him about a versatile as Jason Statham. I'm sure I'm alone on this though.

Kingdom of Heaven is indeed pretty long, and without the payoff of Gladiator. Perhaps the most frustrating thing about it is that Edward Norton is in it, but you never see him. Dam you leprosy, dam you to Satan's bosom.

Sam, have you used WWE's new DVD site yet? It's almost exactly the same as Silvervision down even down to the speed of delivery. I got my stuff in less than 24 hours...

Love you too, Sheiky.

Mine and Sheik's name in lights. A wonderful sight.
