Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Thor has the excuse of another world and all that stuff. Though I could honestly do without him all together.

You're right about the Cap thing though, especially with The Mandarin having that Cap shield tattoo that was never explained. Iron Man 3 was always doomed to criticism because everyone just wanted more Avengers. Team up movies has truly ruined us.

Thor, The Dark World - better than the first, but still a bit shit? I think. I zoned out twice. The final battle with everyone teleporting dimensions was more chaotic and annoying than entertaining.

I cant handle the shared universe thing. Why arent they helping one another in these films?

this was especially prevelaint in Iron Man 3. A terrorist doing all these attacks on America, yet CAptain America has no involvement.

Captain America was probably doing his own shit, like taking care of Winter Soldier or whatever he's got going on in his new movie.

There is no evidence to suggest the movies occur concurrently.

And besides....fucking terrorist attacking America, man.

I think the fact that the Avengers aren't assembling to kick ass together is the evidence. Also, given the nature of the Marvel universe, there's probably a major act of super-villainy happening in at least 12 different places at any given time, so perhaps the hero community is stretched pretty thin. It's important to remember that the Avengers didn't take on a national-level threat in their movie; they took on a world-wide level threat. Though I suppose if you're going down that road of logic, you'd think Captain America would have some interest in defending America, but like I said, bigger, more personal fish.

Just something that would have been interesting but isn't needed now that we know the Mandarin twist.

Which reminds me why I can't wait to see more of Ben Kingsley as him, sucks I gotta buy the Thor 2 DVD to see it.

Comics do it all the time, DC acknowledges it a bit where Batman goes "This is my town fuck off" (Paraphrase) quite often.

But with Marvel they all live in NYC.

  1. The Wolf of Wall Street ★★★★
  2. 12 Years a Slave ★★★
  3. American Hustle ★★

Astonishingly funny, astonishingly long. The exception that proves the rule.

Jonah Hill's public *********ion and the "cerebral palsy stage" scenes had me in tears.

I'm glad you liked it. I also enjoyed the scene where they introduce you to Jordan's father, Rob Reiner, and he yells at the phone for ringing during Dragnet or an equally ridiculous show.

I'm holding out hope that it can steal American Hustle's thunder at the Oscars.

Is 12 years a slave really worth sitting through? I'm on the fence.

I think it's more poignant if you're American, but I'd say it's worth sitting through regardless. Chiwetel Ejiofor was incredible, and Fassbender was pretty fantastic as well.

It was The Equalizer.

I loved the part where he realized he fucked up the car after thinking he drove home like a boss. The whole movie is filled with gems to be quite honest.

What Sam said about The Wolf Of Wall Street.

My cleaner was telling me how much she cried during 12 Years A Slave. Maybe it's the language barrier, or I was just mistaken because I wasn't paying attention, but she was on about similarities between her life. I don't think she understands too good.

Sam, I'm getting the sense you don't watch Raw much any more. Tell me about how now tastes better or air smells fresher.
