Aye, the hallway fight. The hallway fight.
If you want a good hallway fight watch The Raid or Old Boy. Sure they have way more Asians in them, but that way you don't have to put up with Foggy Nelson's ghastly acting.
Are we pretending I haven't seen The Raid or Old Boy now?
JMT, how far have you gotten in BS?
New season next Saturday baby!!!
Typing that out got me thinking about my favourite TV soundtracks. As far original music goes, Lost and The Leftovers have both known what beats to hit at the exact right moment. And for my money, the music Lost created to evoke certain individuals really added a lot to, for example, Ben or Desmond episodes/moments that I was already eagerly anticipating. That show was great when it came to those personal melodies.I just found out that Spotify has a goodly sum of the music composed for Batman: The Animated Series. Recorded with a full orchestra for every every episode, the show's score achieves a grandeur evocative of old Hollywood spectacles decades prior to B:TAS' original broadcast. Of course Warner Bros. was also producing Animaniacs during the same period in the 90s, so it seems calling on old Hollywood was l'ordre du jour.
Listening to the score for the Demon's Quest two-parter, I'm certain they're riffing on Lawrence of Arabia. And it's fantastic.
Watched the first episode of Love. I'm all in. JMT, where do you stand on Judd Apatow things which aren't Freaks and Geeks?
Of Kings and Prophets starts tonight, which I am sure will once again leave me lamenting how good a biblical epic could be if handled by non-religious folks. So much wild source material, so many shit-bucket attempts at making big budget sunday school films/shows.
