Wrestlemania 25 didn't live up to the hype in most fans opinions. I liked it, but even I have things I would have changed about it. In this thread you get the chance to recreate this event with the matches having any result you wish, in any order you wish. You can also add a new match to the card but it must be one that was possible at the time. I'll go first.

DARK MATCH - Battle Royal
Everyone who participated at the real event's dark match as lumberjacks would be in my dark match in a battle royal. There are not many guys to pick from who would benefit from winning this though.

WINNER: Jack Swagger after last eliminating Evan Bourne.

1. WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP UNIFICATION MATCH - Miz & Morrison VS Carlito & Primo
This match goes on first. It should have aired at the actual event. No lumberjacks though since they were all in the dark match.

WINNERS & New WWE Tag Team Champions: Miz & Morrison.

2. Jericho VS Legends
I would have this take place earlier to get it out of the way. The match itself remains the same. Flair and Rourke still get involved afterwards. Jericho gets up and cuts a promo disrespecting legends further, out comes Stone Cold for a cameo and hits the Stunner on Jericho after the match.

WINNER: Jericho after last eliminating Steamboat.

3. Money In the Bank Ladder Match
Nothing changes here.

WINNER: CM Punk.

4. INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP - Rey Mysterio VS JBL
The only thing that changes here is it lasts longer than 30 seconds. JBL still quits after a couple of minutes.

WINNER and NEW Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio.

5. UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP - MVP VS Mr Kennedy
This is the match I am adding to the card, I wanted the US title on the show and these guys could have put on a match for it.

WINNER and STILL United States Champion MVP.

6. Matt Hardy VS Jeff Hardy
Nothing changes here.

WINNER: Matt Hardy.

7. Undertaker VS Shawn Michaels
Absolutely nothing changes here. This was one of the best matches of all time. Many wanted it to close the show, but I fixed the tired crowd issue by throwing in the divas match after this so they can rest from the excitement. The world titles should be last.

WINNER: Undertaker.

8. Divas Battle Royal
They all get their entrances because Kid Rock's concert got limited to only one song. Beth Phoenix figures out that Santina is Santino, eliminating him only to get distracted and leaves her vulnerable for eliminatiom by Michelle McCool who wins the match.

WINNER: Michelle McCool after last eliminating Beth Phoenix.

By this point the crowd has had a chance to relax. The Hall of Fame inductees come out for their introduction, followed by Stone Cold's beer drinking and four wheeler driving.

9. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - John Cena VS Edge VS Big Show
Nothing changes.

WINNER and NEW World Heavyweight Champion John Cena.

10. WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - Triple H VS Randy Orton
This changes quite a bit. I liked the actual match as it went, but I would change it up a bit because a feud as epic as this one deserved an epic match. Trips is allowed to use the sledgehammer. Legacy run in during the match to attack Trips. Vince and Shane come out to even the odds but are taken out by a double RKO instantly. Trips goes for a sledgehammer shot to Orton in the head but misses, taking out Ted. Pedigree to Cody. Orton sneaks in another RKO while Trips was busy dealing with Cody.

WINNER and NEW WWE Champion Randy Orton.

The show closes as Orton poses with the belt.

So how would YOU rebook this show? Please use the actual card's matches. You may change match orders and results, and add one match of your choosing. Please also do not forget to explain why you made some of your changes.

Have fun rebooking this show! I can't wait to see your cards.

Redoing 25 is quite an easy task. You pretty much fixed it completely. The only thing I disagree on is the US title match purely because Kennedy was on the injured list at the time so the match couldn't of taken place. For me I would of left MVP in the MiTB and instead had..

ECW Title
Jack Swagger (c) vs Finlay vs Christian

Continues on with Finlay vs Swagger at NWO + Christian return around that time. Either Swagger retains or Christian wins what ever. This way it would of been a nice six man MiTB and the ECW title would of made the show. It makes it seem like the company gave a damn about ECW. Other then that there really is nothing else that would really need to be changed from your changes to the event.

1. WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP UNIFICATION MATCH - Miz & Morrison (c) VS Carlito & Primo (c)
This would've been a good opener and yeah, no lumberjacks either. I would've had M&M win since they were the better team.

WINNERS & New WWE Tag Team Champions: Miz & Morrison.

2. MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH - CM Punk vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Kofi Kingston vs. MVP vs. R-Truth vs. Kane vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Show
The only changes to this is Big Show replacing Christian and I replaced him with Christian cause Christian would've been better off facing Swagger for the ECW Title and I didn't feel Show belonged in the main event. And I replaced Finlay with R-Truth cause I like that Triple Threat ECW Title match idea from the guy above plus I don't know why Truth was on the WM poster but he wasn't on the card. But I feel he could've done some good for this match if he were in it.

WINNER: CM Punk

3. ECW CHAMPIONSHIP - Christian vs. Finlay vs. Jack Swagger (c)
Like I said, I like this idea.

WINNER & Still ECW Champion: Jack Swagger

4. JBL vs. Legends
Since JBL wasn't booked to do much at WM, he may aswell have gotten the Legends gig since the legends didn't do much either. JBL makes short work of Snuka & Piper who were both wrecks BTW then Steamboat comes in, suprises us all with his armdrags, crossbodies etc. and he pulls out the win. Then after the match JBL grabs the mic declaring that "he's hit rock bottom in the WWE now that's he lost to washed up legends" and he quits.

WINNER: Ricky Steamboat (Legends)

5. EXTREME RULES MATCH - Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy
Nothing changes

WINNER: Matt Hardy

6. IC CHAMPIONSHIP: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Rey Mysterio
Their classic feud which happens later in the year just gets brought down a few months early. These two are talented as hell, so no need to waste on em washed up losers like JBL and the Legends (with the exception of Ricky Steamboat). I'd just have Jericho get distracted by Mickey Rourke somehow which costs him the match then after the match Rourke knocks his lights out.

WINNER & New IC Champion: Rey Mysterio

7. Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels
Nothing changes here.

WINNER: Undertaker

8. Divas Battle Royal
Like Dias said, a well deserved piss break match after all the excitement from Taker vs. HBK.

WINNER: Don't care

9. WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP - John Cena (c) vs. Randy Orton
I swapped the 2 World Title matches around here, so we can have a new match in Edge vs. Triple H. As for Orton & Cena, those two were built up as the two guys to lead the WWE into the next generation, so it's only fitting they face off one on one at WM and they could've easily booked it at 25 if they wanted. I'd have Orton win the title, so that can he go onto feud with Batista over the belt.

WINNER & New World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton

10. WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - Edge vs. Triple H (c)
Any Wrestlemania was the right time for these two to finally go at it and just like Orton vs. Cena, it could've easily been booked here. And Edge could've played Orton's role in the McMahon's/HHH vs. Orton feud just as good as Orton did.

WINNER & Still WWE Champion: Triple H

Only thing I would have changed is to switch the last two matches and put the divas in between. HHH winning was the right move given everything that led up to it. HHH/Orton going after HBK/Taker hurt the match more than the match itself.

This. The Taker/Shawn match should have went on last, end of story. I know some people always feel that the title match should always end the show but this is one of those rare cases where the match is bigger than the title. If you switch them up, the Orton Hunter match doesn't even look all that bad since it's not the main event of the show.

Other than that, I would just eliminate the ridiculous Divas Battle Royal and Kid Rock's little mini concert(or at least cut it down to just one song.) That gives a little more time for the Tag Title match to actually be on the show and the JBL-Mysterio match to last at least a full minute or 2.

I'm not saying this would have made it a great card or anything, but the matches certainly had potential and with a little better pacing and management it certainly could have been respectable.

World Heavyweight Championship

Edge (c) vs John Cena vs Randy Orton (2009 Royal Rumble Winner)

How this match-up would be set up would be that Edge would still come into this match as the World Heavyweight Champion just like how he did in real life, and Orton instead of HHH he chooses Edge as his WrestleMania decision. Why Orton chooses Edge is because Orton knows he can beat Edge and that he was the better superstar in Rated RKO, and that Vickie will not help him at Mania and nothing will stop him from achieving his "legacy". But Cena interrupts by somehow interjecting himself into this match, just like how he did in real life, and it ends up a Triple-Threat Match but with Orton replacing Big Show.

Orton wins the title here

WWE Championship (Title vs. Streak) (17-0 or 16-1)

Triple H (c) vs. The Undertaker

How this match up would be set up is that since Orton chose Edge, that leaves HHH without an opponent and HHH is addressing this until he is interrupted by Big Show who says he wants HHH at Mania, but then the lights go out and the gong is heard, the lights come back on, and Taker is in the ring. He says that he wants the WWE Title as well, and that if he has to go through Big Show to do it, he will. A #1 Contender's Match is made, and Taker wins that. Then after the match HHH comes into the ring, and HHH & Taker stare down until Taker Chokeslams HHH and leaves him laying in the ring. Then HHH the next week plays mind games with Taker saying he won't be intimidated by Taker, and that even though he lost at Mania to Taker before, this time will be different because he is such a different man now and that he will beat The Undertaker and end his Streak. The build-up would be so awesome here.

Undertaker wins this in a lengthy bout

Chris Jericho vs. "Returning Legend" (The Rock)

How this match would be set up would be that Jericho is running down the legends and how he has beaten everybody that there is to beat, and that he dares any legend to come out here and challenge him to a match at Mania. IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN plays and The Rock comes out as he makes his return to WWE after a 5 year absence and he says that he heard what Jericho said, and that he will face Jericho at Mania. Jericho then attacks The Rock until Rock turns it around and lays out Jericho with a Rock Bottom, and the match-up is set for the 25th Anniversary of Mania

Rock wins this

Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy (Last Man Standing)

The only difference in their match instead of it being Extreme Rules, it will be a Last Man Standing Match, and I wouldn't change the outcome of the match at all

Matt wins this match

Shawn Michaels vs Rey Mysterio

How this match up would be set up would be that it would be a feud basically based on respect, and this is like a dream match up everyone would want to see, but never got to see, and if it had happened at Mania 25, it would have been epic

Rey wins this match

MITB

Christian vs Punk vs Kofi Kingston vs MVP vs Shelton Benjamin vs Kane vs Big Show vs Mark Henry

The only thing that I would change about Money In The Bank is that Big Show would replace Finlay in this match-up, and as for who wins the briefcase, instead of Punk winning it, Christian should have won it and if he did, Christian would have cashed in and became champion in 2009 in which he should have

WWE Unified Tag Team Championship

Miz & Morrison (World Tag Team Champions) (c) vs Carlito & Primo (WWE Tag Team Champions) (c)

This match-up should have opened up the PPV, and instead of Carlito & Primo winning, it should have been Miz & Morrison winning this match

ECW Championship

Jack Swagger (c) vs Finlay

This match should have happened at Mania 25, and if it had, then Swagger should have won because then it would elevate him even more

Miss WrestleMania

This match-up should have been set up for Beth Phoenix to win, but they should have included divas from the past in this battle royal too

This. The Taker/Shawn match should have went on last, end of story. I know some people always feel that the title match should always end the show but this is one of those rare cases where the match is bigger than the title. If you switch them up, the Orton Hunter match doesn't even look all that bad since it's not the main event of the show.

I understand what youre trying to say here, but the problem is this: The build to this match didnt equate to it being worthy of a main event slot. Regardless of how bad Hunter and Orton was, it theoretically should have closed the show. At WM 26, I would agree completely. HBK's career was more important then any title. But their first match was just about the streak, and we've seen that story for years. However bad HHH/Orton turned out to be, we're playing Monday morning QB here. The WWE Title match was built to be the main event. It just so happened to turn out to be very bad.

That gives a little more time for the Tag Title match to actually be on the show.

This. It was a crime the Unified Tag Titles didnt make the show and a freaking concert and Divas battle Royal won by a cross-dresser did. This would have made for a great opener, as it proved to be the next night on Raw. I look at this as the beginning of the degeneration of the tag team division. I don't question who won, the right call was made. There was nothing more for Miz and Morrison to do as a tag team, and Miz' push would have unneccessarily been delayed if they had won.
The JBL-Mysterio match to last at least a full minute or 2.

This was booked perfectly, in my opinion. Heel JBL comes riding into his home state of Texas to defend the prestigious IC Title, full of arrogance. He was going out, so what better way then to send the heel out was to have him absolutely defeated while getting no offense in whatsoever? A back and forth match between the two would have taken some of the heat away from JBL quitting.

As for the rest of the card, Id have added Big Show to the MITB ladder match. He truly had no business in the World Title match. Punk was the right choice as winner, as it was the catalyst for the best executed heel turn in some time in ANY company. With Swagger being off the show, I would have added the very good match between he and Christian at Baacklash to the card, with Christian getting the win and his big moment of shine on a bigger stage.

As for Cena and Edge, nearing the end of their three year feud, there was one thing they had never done- Had a one-on-one match at Wrestlemania. Being that they switched the title right back to Edge the following month, I painstakingly say they should have had Edge come out on top with some form of chicaniry. HHH-Orton was too personal to be just a single's match, as a LMS or no-DQ match would have been much more appropriate. HHH winning was the right call here, but it would have been better for this to be a truly brutal match.

This wasn't a great card, and none of my proposed changes would have made it so. But there was definitive room for improvement, and I think these simple ideas would have accomplished exactly that.
