Triple-H was an awesome heel. He is still the best heel "World Heavyweight Champion" of WWE's version of WHC. Every eras had many ridiculous storylines. Still RAW was getting ratings in 4s and 5s in 2002-2003 compared to now.
In his defense 2002 was one of the best years for the wrestling business as whole if we see what that year created of course.
Not really; WWE actually lost money, based off the losses from The World. They earned a profit of 16 million (?!) while suffering losses of 35 million from losses from The World
And 2002 had Katie Vick. Please tell me there is something worse

In 2002 the goood outweighs the bads :
Arrival of the New World Order (Hulk Hogan,Kevin Nash, Scott Hall)
Innovation of the Brand Extension
Eric Bischoff as Raw General Manager (Greatest RAW GM in WWE history)
Debuts of Multiple Future World Champions (Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista)
Innovation of WWE Tag Team Championships
Christ. I hate the bullet point quoting. But fine.
Oh, you mean the nWo that literally lasted one month? Yeah, great stuff.
You mean the watering down of both tour shows, to the point that years later, it wore the roster thin?
Also, those brand exclusive pay per views? Some of the worst buy rates in history
The first four on your list and Survivor Series 2004 were interbrand.
Fair enough, exclude them still better buyrates than today.
Your also not giving the full context, in that these numbers were big drop offs from previous years
Now that it's a pathetic excuse, it doesn't matter if the sells dropped as long as it did sell a lot. It was a good year when everything is said and done, it was a year that brought change so it should be remembered as that.
How is it an excuse? It's fact.
Look, I'll even give you the buyrates
Royal Rumble 2001: 625,000
No Way Out 2001: 590,000
Wrestlemania 17: 1,040,000

Judgment Day 2001: 405,000
King of the Ring 2001: 445,000 (Jericho and Benoit headlining with Austin)
Invasion: 775,000

Unforgiven 2001: 350,000

Vengeance 2001: 315,000
Royal Rumble 2002: 670,000
No Way Out 2002: 575,000 (nWo debut)
Wrestlemania 18: 840,000
Backlash 2002: 400,000
Judgment Day 2002: 373,000
King of the Ring 2002: 320,000 (probably why they decided to get rid of KOTR?)
Vengeance 2002: 375,000

Unforgiven 2002: 300,000
No Mercy 2002: 300,000

Wrestlemania 19: 560,000 (Big disappointment)
Backlash 2003: 345,000 (Goldberg vs. Rock)
Judgment Day 2003: 315,000
Bad Blood 2003: 385,000 (big buyrate shock at the time...Foley helped draw?)
Vengeance 2003: 365,000 (big success at the time)
Summerslam 2003: 465,000
Unforgiven 2003: 360,000 (Goldberg vs. HHH, success at the time)
No Mercy 2003: 275,000
Survivor Series 2003: 450,000 (big success for the time)
Armageddon 2003: 240,000
And you don't see how the drop off is noticeable?
Why do you hate the Golden Era?WWE had greater business in that era than any other one except Attitude Era.Stars were great. They were truly larger than life.Kids and teens idolized Hulk Hogan.Randy Savage(face),Ultimate Warrior to name a few.Does any kid in this era would want to be like the Miz?Or CM Punk(face)? That's why i like John Cena.He may or may not be an ass in real life but in character is the idol to all.
