I've seen Triple H credit the WrestleWar match as being one of his biggest inspirations for getting into the business. Flair and Steamboat both prefer the second or third matches from what I recall. You might not have gotten as much out of the WrestleWar match. But everything I've seen indicates that the other two matches, specifically the WrestleWar match, are more popular.
Steamboat clearly stated that his match where he won the NWA Championship is his favorite of all, go figure. Everything I've seen indicates that the Chi Town match was more popular because it had a bigger impact in both of Flair's and Steamboat's career. Just google Steamboat vs. Ric Flair and you'll see what people talk about - but if you enjoyed more the other two it's fine, everything they had was fantastic.

Never seen any of it. Don't care. Probably wouldn't buy a Steamboat DVD.
I didn't buy either, but I wouldn't mind since Steamboat is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time, it's something I've to think about. I still get goosebumps when I'm in a mood for some Roberts vs. Steamboat :worship:

That's a lie, that's a real big lie! Internet fans care about him because of his indy background and that's it. His promo work is horrible, he's always pausing, his accent is very thick and he was overpushed from out of nowhere. I for once couldn't care less about Cesaro, everything he was on was just fillers after fillers, in his 6 month reign he hasn't done ONE single thing interesting, a thing that at least Ziggler did, and if you want to ignore his feuds with Mysterio or Kofi Kingston fine, but even this year he had a thing that people were talking about, and it was his rivalry against Zack Ryder.

Antonio can't even get cheap heat half the times.

So explain why he got a pop as he positioned Truth for the Neutralizer at TLC? Or were the 15,000 in the Barclays Center "Internet fans." Or how about the fans that booed him after when he cut a promo? Or the ones the following night in Philly who booed him when he took to the microphone?

And it took Dolph Ziggler like two years to even get a reaction - and he needed Vickie Guerrero to do it.

It was an hardcore crowd, they were cheering for every heel. It was reported by most dirtsheet websites, so it was an "internet crowd". At Raw he didn't get that booed, I mean I believe that almost every heel had a bigger reaction than him, even 3MB!

I'll pull out my DVDs soon to double check. If I'm wrong then I'm wrong. But I don't think I am.

boo!
Consider me offended. Cesaro is one of the few guys that I genuinely anticipate every show. He pulls out a new trick in nearly every match and is really a treat to watch. And no, I didn't even follow him as Claudio.

I didn't say anything bad about his in.ring work, just the way he portrays himself. I can't buy him as a bad guy, and I think that he needs a lot of work in promos but I couldn't buy Daniel Bryan's mic work as well and he's one of my favorites now, I have to give him time but for now he isn't working for me.

You're overplaying your hand. I prefer Cesaro as well, but neither man has really set the world on fire as a heel.

Frankly, I think both men would be better served as faces. Let Cesaro bring back his "Hey!" shtick and let Ziggler wrestle the flashy face style his poor heel work seems to indicate he wants to use.

Are you not anticipating Cesaro eventually losing his title? Commentary is constantly playing up the fact that he's a fighting champion and that all US challengers have been beaten by him countless times. I'd love to see him lost the title to Jack Swagger at Wrestlemania, it'd create a feel good 'murrica moment anyways.

:lmao:

The way ROH fans glorify chain wrestling is beyond stupid. These people would boo Jesus Christ if he couldn't chain wrestle. Even God managed to work a match without doing it.

You fail to see that Christ would still get over by the beating he would take in hardcore matches. Can't you just imagine Nigel flipping out and Kevin Kelly apologizing to the fans for the brutality as Steen pulled out a "Cat'o'nine tails"???

He actually defended the title against only two americans in Zack Ryder and R-Truth so I don't really care about it. I'm anticipating he loses the title because I want to care for the championship instead of having the same predictable thing, and I mean I would pretty much accept anyone to carry the title. If I wasn't one of the guys that watches every single second WWE puts, I'd probably skip him talking because I don't believe that he's giving any sort of entertainment. His matches should speak for him, get him a manager of some sort. Pair him with Vickie Guerrero and I'll be his number one fan.

I like Cesaro, but he's really struggled to get over for some reason, and to deny that is to deny reality. The dude has cut some very good promos and put on some very good displays of ring work, but the audiences still aren't into him. He's had a few buildings make some noise for him, but I'd say 4/5 of the places he's worked give him nothing.

The Cesaro-Ziggler comparison is an interesting one.

One if clearly so much better than the other in virtually every aspect and yet it is the lesser that is getting the better reactions (although still pretty meagre given the spot he has been elevated too).

I don't believe for one second that Cesaro is much better than Dolph Ziggler. We can say a thing or another about their wrestling performances, but in an entertainment aspect Dolph Ziggler just kills Cesaro, and that is all that matters. I mean nobody over analyses wrestling matches, it's more like you watch the match a first time and that's it. At least 99% of the people are like that, and Ziggler in-ring work when looked from a regular viewer perspective is very flashy.

The fact that most people don't care about Cesaro and care about Zigger, it's a proof that Ziggler can connect with the crowd much better. So when it comes to talent, the one who has the better reactions has to be considered the most talented.

I'm talking about the WWE Style, because I have no doubt that Cesaro can work in Japan and be a very successful gaijyn. However Ziggler wouldn't stand a chance since he's obviously a WWE product. Only internet fans give more importance to the wrestling aspect in the two big american promotions, the rest don't care. And Ziggler promo work is way above Cesaro's, and way above is an understatement.

Strongly disagree on Ziggler's stick work - it is garbage. Well, it was garbage. Now it is just slightly above garbage.

And for all the time that has been invested in him, Ziggler should be much more competent in terms of promo work and in-ring psychology, which is still heavily sub-par despite working with the best over the last 2 years.

As for entertainment, give me Cesaro any day over Ziggler but then that is just me. But the question needs to be asked about how much of Ziggler's meagre reactions are to do with him rather than the fact that he is working with Cena, Vickie or even AJ?

I'm not convinced Ziggler can get heel heat on his own. The one time I remember him alone on RAW he got no reaction. Now he can only get cheered, might as well turn him face.

In his defense, do you really hate Dolph Ziggler or any other heel in the WWE? What did Ziggler made for me to hate him? He's cocky and he's feuding with an hero, so I guess I'm supposed to dislike him. Same thing for Cesaro, why should I hate him? Because he hates America? Yeah, he must be the first one to do it and I don't really care for that, it's not like he's really pissing me of.

I really hate CM Punk. He keeps saying he's the best in the world but he's yet to beat the real best in the world, John Cena, or even Ryback, and that type of insolence pisses me off.

Though to be fair, I really do hate Ziggler because he's such a terrible wrestler.

So do heels have to suck in order to get heat in the future?

It's not really fair to compare Ziggler and Cesaro seeing as Ziggler has had the luxury of working with the top tier talent in John Cena, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Sheamus and Daniel Bryan while Cesaro has to make do with R-Truth, Kofi Kingston and Justin Gabriel.
