PWF Answers Wrestling Questions

You've mistaken this with the Chi-Town Rumble match. WrestleWar is where Flair wins the belt back and gets slaughtered by Terry Funk in the post-match.

This match was not as long as their previous matches but hold for hold it was better. While I liked their Clash of the Champions match more this was a perfect follow-up match with some of the psychology from that one carrying over. The shocking moment happens after the match as Terry Funk cheapshots the newly crowned champ Ric Flair and piledrives him on a table.

That match is also one of my favorites, but I'll answer to your question. The thing I enjoy most in the match nowadays it's just Ricky Steamboat finally getting a World Championship - the in-ring psychology was also top notch, you can't even feel time passing by and even years later you feel the excitement.

But what about for you? What do you think it was so great about this match? (yes, I'm totally ignoring the fact that this thread is from PWF)

Don't answer for PWF. It's clear to everyone here that PWF hasn't a clue what he's talking about. Coco was trying to get that.

Dave Meltzer is shitting himself. What age are you?

:lmao:

The way ROH fans glorify chain wrestling is beyond stupid. These people would boo Jesus Christ if he couldn't chain wrestle. Even God managed to work a match without doing it.

What is the problem about liking Dolph Ziggler anyway?

What is there to like about Dolph Ziggler?

I will attest to this. And the best part is, say for someone like Mike Bennett who gets "You Can't Wrestle" chants yet usually puts on a great match.

"PWF almost answers wrestling questions".

You know what? I'm not gonna slag him here, because I asked him something, and he was upfront that he didn't know much. I'll admit... I know jackshit about most old shit, I didn't care about the NWA or Crockett, so you know what? Kudos.

I like his looks and the way he makes people believe he's really a guy that it's worth watching. I like his in-ring psychology as well, he seems to be getting over with his movements and all the little things like messing his hair and stuff like that. I can also see why internet fans tend to hate him, he isn't a guy that came from the indies as much of IWC favorites, he isn't a guy that sells every move perfectly as he oversells half his things and he can be a little clumsy in a match but I enjoy his amateur wrestling background and the way he uses that to his arsenal, he isn't doing anything near as bad as someone like Antonio Cesaro that it's in a midst of a push right now. At least he shows a personality and he shows that he can play with the big guns in a sports entertainment environment.

But take CM Punk that seems to be one of your favorites, for me he is also very clumsy and in the last six months he has been very uni dimensional with the same subject over and over about respect. In the end they are both very solid performers that can have a great match with almost anybody and they're also both very good with the microphone whether we like them or not. (CM Punk's better with the shtick)

I thought you're talking about the Chi Town Rumble Match since it's like the most popular match they had, I'm sorry I just assume that when people talk about Steamboat x Flair. Nobody cares about the one you put, i'm glad you enjoyed it but it didn't had the same feeling even if it was the way to start Funk vs. Flair feud.

Sine we are at it, what you thought about Flair x Steamboat first rivalry in the NWA? It's pretty highlighted in Steamboat's DVD when Flair was NWA US Champion.

Dolph Ziggler has a good look, I agree. He oversells too much, I agree.

But the part I have highlighted is a lie. Name me a good match Dolph Ziggler has had with someone who isn't notorious for having good matches like a John Cena, Randy Orton, Sheamus or Daniel Bryan. It's a pattern I noticed in Ziggler a long time ago, he began acquiring popularity from working with the guys who have established themselves as good workers but can't work a good match with people who aren't.

I'll give you a good example, when Dolph Ziggler feuded with Alex Riley the matches they had were garbage. But when John Cena faced Alex Riley, they had good matches. Or when Ziggler faced Jack Swagger, it was an okay match, but I can recall Swagger having a good matches with Daniel Bryan and Sheamus - didn't Bryan not face Swagger on a draft episode of Raw once or something, and they had a great match.

Dolph Ziggler needs to be carried to have a good match, that's why they always pair him up with the top talent because he can't carry anybody.

Dolph Ziggler vs. The Miz at WWE Main Event was one of the best matches the show ever had. But I believe that The Miz is now one hell of a performer and that Ziggler was also carried by him. And Alex Riley had poor performances, he wasn't ready at the time to even have a match. But that's your opinion on the matter and I respect it.

What the hell is wrong with Antonio Cesaro?

His lack of personality and his forced acting, oh and I find him overpushed given the fact that he won his USA Championship in his 8th match at best without even one single entertaining feud or promo... In the ring he's very solid and I wouldn't expect any less.

Seriously? Cesaro is one of the better things about the midcard right now and his promos are great; see TLC & Tribute to the Troops. He's an old school heel that simply gets over by the fact that he's against american values in every way yet he's the US champ. He could also do something with his one US title reign that Ziggler couldn't do with either his IC or US reign or the times where he was no. 1 contender to the world titles and that's make people care.

I've seen Triple H credit the WrestleWar match as being one of his biggest inspirations for getting into the business. Flair and Steamboat both prefer the second or third matches from what I recall. You might not have gotten as much out of the WrestleWar match. But everything I've seen indicates that the other two matches, specifically the WrestleWar match, are more popular.

Never seen any of it. Don't care. Probably wouldn't buy a Steamboat DVD.

That's a lie, that's a real big lie! Internet fans care about him because of his indy background and that's it. His promo work is horrible, he's always pausing, his accent is very thick and he was overpushed from out of nowhere. I for once couldn't care less about Cesaro, everything he was on was just fillers after fillers, in his 6 month reign he hasn't done ONE single thing interesting, a thing that at least Ziggler did, and if you want to ignore his feuds with Mysterio or Kofi Kingston fine, but even this year he had a thing that people were talking about, and it was his rivalry against Zack Ryder.

Antonio can't even get cheap heat half the times.

You're overplaying your hand. I prefer Cesaro as well, but neither man has really set the world on fire as a heel.

Frankly, I think both men would be better served as faces. Let Cesaro bring back his "Hey!" shtick and let Ziggler wrestle the flashy face style his poor heel work seems to indicate he wants to use.
