OSAMA BIN LADEN IS DEAD!!!!

What is there to suggest that anything is going to change? Osama is dead, and I am happy for that, but that doesn't mean that I am going to be deluded enough to think that everything changes now. People are excited for good reason, but acting like a dick because someone is wanting to have a discussion about the actual implications is idiotic.

And it's fair. I mean, it's not like Repubs wouldn't have taken credit, right?

Oh I'm sure they will some how.

If you watch Fox New tomorrow I'm sure they'll say Sarah Palin, Ronald Reagan, and Donald Trump shot him from a helicopter.

No, I didn't claim to know WHY you feel entitled to shit on me. I speculated as to why you suddenly felt the need to act like an ass, and I gave the two reasons I could think of. Your "experts" sound like crap to me. Why? Because experts told us a lot of shit about this "war" and a fair amount of it has been crap. And, it's not like you're referencing anything- just experts on the radio. You felt the need to shit on me, because you're overly fucking patriotic right now, and I said something different. I will apologize my ass off if I'm wrong. But until then, I say: Nothing changes. War on Terror continues. Al-Qaeda will live on.

Overly fucking patriotic? I didn't realize that it was overly patriotic to celebrate when you have a big military victory. I didn't realize it was overly patriotic when you are happy that a man who orchestrated an attack against your country that killed thousands of people is killed.

Stop kissing you crazy kids! So you won the war, big deal? There will only be more problems for you in the future! Don't take time to smell the fucking roses, you should be preparing for Korea!

No, fuck you. Whether or not you want to believe Al-Qaeda is going to recover from this, this is still a huge fucking victory. I remember watching the TV after 9/11, seeing little children celebrating in the streets of Baghdad because of what happened here and being so angry that I cried. There were people out there who wanted me dead just because I lived in this country, and now the man who started that stigma and lead those people is dead. So don't you DARE tell me that I'm being overly patriotic right now, because this is a big fucking day. I'm not saying, "God bless America, the sun has risen again," I'm celebrating because we have just achieved a huge victory.

As for my sources, you're right, I haven't named names yet, mostly because I'm too fucking excited to pay attention to their names, but unlike you I have been listening to what they say, and it's universally agreed upon that this is a big game changer.

I'm sorry if that depresses you or kills your buzz, but we're not dealing with a snake. Al-Qaeda operates as a network- both a multinational and stateless army. The death of one man won't crumble them, but I'm glad he's gone.

The death of one man won't crumble them, but it sure as hell delivers a huge blow. You said it yourself, they're underground, multinational, stateless, that means they're in pieces. They were all united under one man, and now they have to scatter to reassemble, make sure that they stay together and stay strong. Chances are that that's not going to happen.

It's often been said that Al Qaeda is not a snake but a hydra.

That being said it's good this man has come to justice.

I'm cool with justice being done and some closure coming for thousands of families...but I'm not going to join the celebrating of Bin Laden's death. I have no love for the guy, but joining makes me feel like I am just contributing to the cycle of death/hate.

Understandable...but it's not "hate" that you're joining in, it's a step towards ending hate that you'd be joining in with.

Sully's rep comment to me said:
Knowing the music you listen to, it seems like you do a lot of what you wished upon me. You got angry, I win. I can picture you as one of those republicans, driving around with a confederate flag on the back of your truck, beating your wife. Oh well.

There is so much ignorance here. Before I blow a gasket, and say some really stupid shit. I'm signing off. I can't deal with people like you, when I should be fucking celebrating.

I'm glad you're celebrating JGlass. Nothing wrong with that. But apparently I'm a jerk for only being marginally happy, and not dancing in the streets. Chances are chances J. You think they favor one way, I think they favor another. And it's really shitty of you to verbally bitch slap me when we're talking chance. The guys on T.V and the radio aren't always right. So I'll take my leave, and try and forget we ever argued. Have a good night.

There are way to many ignorant, hateful comments being spouted off across the Internet for me to believe that we are any closer to ending the ignorant hate that started this years and years ago.

I understand Ricky.

For me—and for so many others I suspect—it's not reveling in someone's death but rather it's an end to a very specific cycle of pain, lose and fear that began nearly 10 years ago. For so many it's just pure catharsis on monumental scale.

This I can totally respect. Some of the other stuff I've seen is just disgusting

Think about this:
For so many—a generation—who were either children or not even born when 9/11 happened all they've known is the so-called War on Terror. It's practically shaped their entire lives. For them, not only was the Monster Under the Bed found to be very real and very dangerous but he was captured and killed never to be able to hurt someone ever again.

This. And it's not just children, there are plenty of adults as well that were afraid to fly for years after 9/11, who felt more at risk than ever. Now the man who lead that terror movement is dead, and we can all breath a little easier.

If you're an American and one of the main worries you have when you wake up in the morning has anything to do with terrorists, you don't need a safer world. You need a shrink.
