I thought that Jericho got the last laugh in the end because I was a bit disappointed that Jericho at first was made to look all scared about hitting Punk. Too many times, the heels are looked as cowardly and I think Jericho can be that type of smart heel who plans out his attacks and all that. But I think it was a good show overall as well, and the build towards Wrestlemania is coming together.
Please take a look at my recap if you have a few minutes

so....HBK next week? I said this a few weeks ago, that this year they should do HHH vs HBK vs Undertaker at mania, its what we want to see. Did I think they would do it? No, but it seems that this triple threat might be happening.

Thougt it was a decent raw, can see what the WWE is building towards, punk vs jericho at mania and HHH Taker HBK at mania, all in all a decent show last night

I thought the show was pretty solid in general. The Divas were a usual waste of time and I thought WWE did go a little overboard with all the various vid presentations, such as show the John Cena video again.

I thought the Triple H promo was good, he came off sounding almost like a fan in some ways to me. I like how they set up the reason for the match, which is basically Triple H coming right out and saying that he'll just flat out destroy Taker if they fight again. Taker, being extremely prideful, responded with a damn cool video package. The Streak is what Taker has left and him being insulted that he had to be carried out is a nice way of generating heat for their feud.

I thought the Jericho promo was solid, not his best work but still pretty good. Having Punk sort of "copy" another of Jericho's tactics by not saying anything, as Jericho himself did for weeks, is a nice means of getting into his head.

Wrestling action wasn't great overall. Bryan vs. Show was pretty good while it lasted and what we saw of it. Bryan continues to garner great heat from the crowds. The Diva match was nothing, Sheamus vs. Otunga was just another excuse to put Sheamus on the show, the Orton & Khali vs. Barrett & Rhodes didn't accomplish much of anything but I enjoyed the six pack challenge. Some fun, fast paced action overall. Only downside was R-Truth taking that very nasty bump.

I also thought they did a good job of hyping the EC ppv in general.

Last night's show wasn't nearly as hot as last week's, which I didn't expect it to be, but they did move everything along nicely, had some overall good promo segments and a good match. Not a blockbuster Raw, but an ok one. Probably about a C+.

RAW was solid, but not nearly as good as last week's.

I LOVED the opening promo. Now, I understand why they're having this rematch. Undertaker wants to go out like a Boss, and not for his last match in the WWE end with him being carried out on a stretcher. Good piece of explaining. And a bit of the heel HHH came out, when he said he was going to beat up Taker badly if they got in the ring again. And then, Undertaker came back with an Awesome video package. That was a nice piece of work. And HBK is coming back next week. Let' see what he has to say about all this.

This Daniel Bryan/Big Show is really played out, they need to have a twist here or something. I'm hoping they turn AJ Heel to add another dimension to Bryan's character here. This whole Big Show coming "too close" to hitting AJ business is spiraling out of control. And once again Bryan's character continues to improve. I want to give Vince kudos. People were skeptical about Bryan being THE Man since he won MITB and now, he's being built up well.

The Sheamus squash was a great way to get him on TV and have the fans keep cheering for him. I wonder if he has a little mini program with Otunga or somebody heading into the Chamber. Or they wanna keep him fresh for 'Mania.

The Jericho/Punk Promo was brilliant. Jericho came out and made some valid points except for Kofi and Ziggler. The Hardyz were doing all the high flying before Jericho showed up and Triple H came out with Stephanie long before Jericho did LOL. But he was spot on with Punk and Miz. And the Punk came out and pretty much proved Jericho's point about him being a copycat. Punk did it on purpose to OWN Jericho, in turn he proved Jericho right. Can't wait until these guys start cutting promos on each other leading up to 'Mania.

The following tag match was meh. Nothing special. They're trying awful hard to make us care about Khali. I thought Khali was just in the Chamber because Christian was hurt and so he could have that faceoff with Big Show. That Khali chop to Rhodes was pretty funny and the RKO? Sheesh.

The Cena was video was REALLY good. Never seen it before. If you still say you don't like Cena after that, then there's something wrong with you. I never hated Cena in any way, but after that video, I have a new found respect for him.

Johnny Ace is back and it looks like he's staying according to WWE.com and he made a pretty kickass match at EC. Ambulance Match with Cena and Kane. Haven't seen one of those in a LONG time.

The 6 Pack Challenge was pretty solid, nothing too special. Feel sorry for The Miz though. First he gets wrongly blamed as being the sole reason why the buys for Survivor Series were low, then he flat out misses Truth causing him land hard on the floor. Guy just can't a break.

Anyway, Jericho got the last spot, which makes things very interesting for EC. Now that JL has his job back, I wonder if he will still screw Punk out of the title at EC and have Jericho win it. I also like Jericho sitting Indian Style like Punk does with the title over his shoulder.

I give the RAW a C- Not enough ring action, but it was saved by two spectacular segments. Didn't see the need to comment on the Divas match and there was no Funkasaurus :wtf:

I almost forgot about Kane looking like he was going to rape Eve LOL. But I liked how he said he was afraid of what he was going to do. Things are going to get interesting leading up to EC.

I would have to say I'm the total opposite when it came to HHH's promo and now the storyline behind these two...

First off, all week everyone on the boards has been saying that Trips doesn't want to face Taker because of his new role as COO and that after tearing Johny Ace a new one, he had an obligation to turn the match down...

Now we find out that HHH's ego is even worse than it's always been. It was a horrible promo UNLESS it is a precursor to heel turn.

Triple H saying he didn't want to face Taker and be the man to win the streak because he pities him??? He believes he'll destroy Taker because he is sooo amazing and sooo dominant and he doesn't want to be the man who breaks the streak... after what last year's story was about???

All I could do was absoultely hate HHH. He came off horrible, his promo was as usual waaay too long to get to the point and once again, he says he is better than everyone else. Kayfabe wise as a fan, I think if the this is his reason then he comes off as a coward. If they went with the whole COO thing, then I would get it, but HHH's ego getting into creative and playing with this story in this particular way flat out sucked to me.

Lucky for WWE, the Undertaker video pacakage saved it, atleast making sense from taker's point of view why this match needs to happen again.

But HHH's side makes absolutely no sense, and just sounds liek a Triple H ego driven broken record. I didn';t want to see this match last year, I didn't want to see it again this year, and now after HHH's promo I truly don't want to see.

Triple H sucks! If that is the reaction he wanted to get from the fans then he is a genius, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't as he was doing the suck up stuff with the videoes.

The greatest thing about Raw last night was Jericho stealing the win off Punk, and throwing him into the announce table. It showed that he can do it better than the self proclaimed best, really furthering the feud, which will no doubt be a scorcher...

The second best thing (and I truly hope Truth is OK and not seriously hurt), was that Miz has been found out as a pretender. He is crap and now everyone's eyes are open to it. I hope he doesn't win a match ever again and disappears.

I don't really have the time for an in depth review of this week's Raw.

I thought it was a fun show for the most part. There were a few bits and pieces of filler but I thought the overall hype for the Elimination Chamber ppv was very solid. I wasn't super crazy about the opening segment, but it was a pretty solid little mini spectacle and a departure from the standard opening promo formula. R-Truth was comical, Ziggler got some good heat from the fans, Jericho delivered well and I thought Kofi gave some solid comments. His surprise attack on Jericho was fun, a departure from Kofi and he showed some good intensity.

Wrestling action overall was solid as well, nothing spectacular, but Jericho vs. Kofi, Orton vs. Show & Punk vs. Miz were all pretty decent matches.

The Triple H/HBK segment was great, possibly the overall highlight of the night. They certainly added some elements of real life goings on to it, or at least stuff that sounded like it could be. Trips coming right out and saying that the WWE would be all his gave his stance some credibility I thought. HBK sort of goading him on was a fun change with some nice tension. The second Taker video was a nice way to cap things off, his "obsession" with Triple H was demonstrated with him taking a straight razor to his hair so no more wigs for Taker. Great stuff overall.

I also enjoyed the Kane/Cena/Eve/Ryder scenario. The passionate kiss with Eve and Cena was unexpected, but it was a nice little twist to the heart of Ryder, especially with tomorrow being Valentine's Day. It added another layer to the potential Cena heel turn and made Ryder seem even more sympathetic as it flat out sucks to be betrayed by a friend. When Cena came out, the fan participation was great and really put over the angle. It's always great to have a hot crowd, but tonight's San Diego crowd delivered another unexpected touch. The "We all hate you" chant fit right in with things, driving home that Cena's fans are "turning" on him. Ryder did a good job of selling his injury and when it looked as if he was about to strike Ryder, and he may have actually shoved him a little, it just all fell into place. The only thing that would've made Cena look like more of a douche would have been if he'd actually punched the "crippled" Zack Ryder. Ryder getting launched off the stage in the wheelchair by Kane looked cool and you could hear some fans saying "are you happy now Cena?" or "how's it feel to screw your friend over John?".

An overall entertaining show. I give it a B+.

- I wasn't a big fan of the opening segment. R-Truth did have some funny lines though. But it was kind of a unique thing to do. So it might of helped viewers to stay tuned in.

- I didn't like that all 6 members of the Raw Elimination chamber were facing each other. What they did was make 3 of the participants look weak, losing in short matches going into EC ppv.

-HBK/Triple/Undertaker- I was little suprise that HBK didn't get a massive pop. He got a nice reaction but I thought it would of been much louder. But this was a great segment.

- Orton vs Big Show- Why was this match on Raw? I really dont like these supershows anymore. Based off how smackdown ended last week. This should of been the main event on this weeks Smackdown. The match was fine even though they messed up the ending. The top rope DDT Orton did was awesome.

-Cena/Ryder/Kane- Cena/Eve kiss and Cena kind of betraying Ryder was unexpected. Kane throwing Ryder off the stage at the end was great. It is getting a little comical though. Everytime you see Ryder you expect him to leave in a stretcher. :lmao:

Overall- It was an okay episode of Raw. The HBK/HHH promo really stood out and was very well done.

There were 4 decent matches booked for Raw but I felt all were underwhelming and can't recall much about any of them bar the RKO botch and the fact Miz tapped out about 4 minutes into his match with Punk.

This was a show built around 3 promos, a classic beginning, middle and and end set up. The weird thing was that the longest and by far the best of these segments was hyping a match that won't take place for 7 weeks, as opposed to the show being more focused on hyping this Sunday's PPV.

The opening segment was a little awkward and I'd have liked Punk to have said more given the huge reaction he got, but I thought Ziggler and Jericho came off well in their respective roles. Kofi did fine, Miz was a broken record and Truth is amusing but I think his act is better suited to the mid-card.

HBK and Triple H was a masterclass in promo work, giving the whole angle some real weight and intrigue, I could have done without Triple H basically putting over the notion that him, Shawn and Taker are above everyone in the back, but his "This will all be mine!" line really hit the mark, maybe some foreshadowing of a heel turn?

His reasoning changing from pity to wanting to protect a business asset was interesting, although since Taker appears once a year it's a bit of a hollow reason. The Taker stalker video 2.0 meets the barbershop was again a bit goofy but I've just accepted this match is going to happen so whatever.

The Kane/Cena/Ryder/Eve stuff is wrestlecrap legend of the future stuff, hilarious! John-boy may not be embracing the hate but he was certainly embracing Eve's tongue, the lucky bastard.

All in all an OK show that I felt lacked enough focus on getting the Raw EC match over as important.

To be fair, only The Miz ended up looking weak in my opinion. His was the only real 'clean victory', Jericho won through a thumb to the eye and R-Truth because of Ziggler's cockiness. And The Miz only lost to the reigning WWE Champion, not clean to the likes of R-Truth or Kofi Kingston, that would have made him look really weak going into the chamber.

As for my thoughts on tonight, I really enjoyed tonight's RAW. The HBK/HHH segment was just excellent. I expect to see Shaun quite a bit leading up to Wrestlemania.. maybe, just maybe he'll play a role in the match between Trips and Taker at WM?

I was REALLY hoping (and at one point starting to actually believe) that Cena would hit Ryder with the AA. Cena would have then immediately tried to help Zack after hitting him with the AA and realized what he'd done. Zack would have been carried out on a stretcher and Cena would have left the arena by his side with a sick look on his face realizing that he had just 'embraced the hate'. That would have been a great ending to tonight's RAW imo and would have had me that much more excited for the Ambulance Match between him and Kane at EC aswell as hinting at a full-fledged Cena heel turn (which will unfortunately probably not happen anytime soon).

But overall I can't complain with the way RAW ended, it was still a good ending and did show a side of Cena we don't often see. It was a solid RAW tonight, looking forward to the Chamber.

Also, am I the only one that thought Otunga was hinting at a possible merging between RAW and Smackdown when he said to Laurinitis that he had an idea on how to make him the permanent GM for both shows?

Ok so i am going to take a quick, first time stab at doing a RAW review (plz, dont be too harsh on me).

EC "Debate"- Overall, I thought it was a good opening segment, not great, but good. I liked that they gave some mic time to Kofi and also thought that Truth was funny as hell. I really like where they are going with his character. Not sure why they had Johnny Ace come out cause it brought nothing to the segment. On a scale of 1-5 I give it 3 and 1/2.

Y2J v Kofi- Great match by 2 hard workers. Great back and forth action. Kinda of predictable on who was going to win as I only see either Y2J or Punk winning at EC but none the less a good showing by both. I also feel they did a good job booking the match in that Kofi still looks kind of strong but he wont win at EC. 4 out of 5

Big Show v Randy Orton- Like the last match, this one was predictable with Bryan at ringside. The only question was who was he going to hit with the belt. On a side note, I am not a fan of always having SD stars on RAW. IMO, they have their own show and should develop storylines there. Having them always on RAW takes time away from advancing RAW storylines in a better way then they do now. Also, Cole flip flopping from being a DB fan to hater was kind of annoying. 2 1/2 out of 5

HHH/HBK segment- I hope the younger guys were watching this and taking notes cause this guys is how it is done. The whole thing had a very real feeling to it. From HBK calling HHH a sell out and a coward to HHH commenting on his position in the WWE and that HBK was trying to steal HHH's thunder, it was great. These 2 made it seem like their friendship had ended right then and there. No one could have thought that HHH was going to accept the challenge, that wont happen for another couple of weeks. Also, the UT video at the end was the icing on the cake. So the ? is now will he have a short hair cut like when he was the American Badass or totally bald? 5 out of 5

Truth v Ziggler- Good match, I would have thought they would put Ziggler over but having Truth win was a nice surprise. 3 out of 5

Diva's match-Not much to say cause I was doing other things as this match was taking place. N/A

Miz v Punk- Great match but again predictable finish. I like how Punk wins his matches but still makes his opponents look strong...unlike someone we know;). As much as I like Punk, I dotn think he will leave EC with the title. WWE has a history of havign a heel champ vs face challenger at WM. This time Punk will be the chaser and Y2J as the chasee. 4 out of 5

Kane/Cena segment- A cat and mouse game through out the show as the last couple of weeks. Although, i didnt expect Eve swapping spit with Cena. But it does add a new wrinkle into the feud. Now, Cena has no friends in the WWE. The way he pulled back and almost punched Ryder makes it seems as though he is almost there. I cant see kane winning at EC. Lets face it, when was the last time Cena was on the losing end of a feud? It also seems as though the WWE is trying to keep Cena out of the ring as mush as possible to keep him fresh for WM, good move on their part. 3 out of 5

Overall not a bad show, it sold the EC ppv well. If I didnt have so much $$ tied into a Hawaii vacation I would buy the ppv. Total show: 3 1/2 out of 5

Couple pf quick notes:
*Does anyone really believe the WWE has 50 million FB followers? Me neither.
*Brodus Clay was once again not on RAW....which is a good thing.
*Does anyone care that Johnny Ace is still around? Me neither.

I have to disagree. HHH said they were the last of an era, not that they were above everyone else......even though they are.

I have to disagree. HHH said they were the last of an era, not that they were above everyone else......even though they are.

He also said in that same sentence that they were smash-mouth and left it all in the ring, as if guys like Cena, Punk, Orton, Jericho etc...don't.

It's simple. Last night's edition of WWE RAW was one of the better ones in my opinion, over the past few years. It had all sorts of good stuff..

-Good promo featuring the EC contestants
-Very good match with Jericho/Kofi
-EPIC! promo with HBK/HHH
-Divas got a reaction
-Eve got a reaction (Bet she loved kissing Cena)
-The Ziggler/Truth match was good in my opinion
-I loved the Punk/Miz match
-Great ending

So, did you think it was a better episode of RAW?
btw.. where the hell is Brodus Clay & his Funkettes? :|

I think it was really good and it REALLY got things going with Cena. Didn't expect him and Eve to kiss though but still a really good RAW. It was nice to see Jericho back in action with the Walls of Jericho. Kofi was really good on the mic I thought. Bottom line is they continued all of their storylines and set everything up for EC which is a PPV I'm really looking foward to.

RAW has been solid through and through lately. Everyone involved seems to have amped their game up tremendously! Though I do have to say Kofi needs a change of character if he is going to be launched into the main event for him to be taken seriously. I've said it before, he needs that edge he had against Orton in '09.

RAW has always been great when they're on the Road to WrestleMania. It's a time when WWE tries to pull in the casual viewers, or the ones that left, into the program in hopes they will buy WM.

Now if we can get some decent tag division stuff and something better form the women's division...RAW will be back to being as good as it was back in the late 90's early 2000 time.

The problem I see right now is that WWE has too many guys to work with. They need to separate and figure out what to do with them. Tag division was getting going until Bourne got suspended, now there is nothing. Brodus Clay hasn't been seen in awhile either. I think WWE needs to maybe put the tag titles and divas on Smackdown, and move the Intercontinental and US title to RAW...or SOMETHING. Too many guys are being left out for guys that aren't getting over (yeah Im looking at you Jinder Mahal).

I guess that's not saying much because Raw has been quite trash in the last several months. And what was so epic about the promo, except that Triple H really believes what he said that he will own the company. B.S. that wont happen.

Overall I thought it was a pretty solid Raw. The highlights for me was the HHH/HBK Promo and the Punk/Miz match...the only sore spot for me was I just can't seem to get into the Kane, Cena, Ryder, Eve thing...I mean it feels like Vince Russo 1999....it is TOO Soap Opera'ish for my taste...but other than that I enjoyed Raw.

I always watch Raw on my DVR so I can fast forward through boring segments but I barely touched the remote during that entire episode.

The promo between HHH and HBK was completely unexpected in the direction it took. They're building this match differently and it's making me interested as I wasn't too enthused previously. I don't think anyone saw the Eve/Cena kiss coming. It had plenty of surprises and great storytelling.

I think they're going to hold off on Brodus for a little while because they had McIntyre attack him but cut the segment. It was probably to start a feud but they decided they don't have the time right now. Once the main events are solidified (i.e. Punk vs. Jericho, Taker vs. HHH, and Bryan vs. Sheamus (maybe Orton and Barrett for a Fatal Four-Way are officially on the card) they'll kick that feud up for a mid-card Mania match possibly. They may wait until after Mania to give that feud the green light too.

It's hard to say and that's what's going to keep people watching during the Road to Wrestlemania. While we know where things are headed, there's a lot up in the air and the booking of matches and promos has some uniqueness to it.

Yeah, I don't get why do this to Ryder what to make a special I'm healed run? I thought forgive me God, when he fell off the stage I laughed my ass off.WWE is making this Cena/Kane more important than the WWE Championship which is wrong. As for Eve, she has no career now, I don't know if she make up for that, boo that Woman. The matches on the card were pretty good, not great, thought Miz and Punk could of went longer, felt rushed for the ending with Kane and Cena, and Ryder. The show was stolen with the Shawn Michaels/Triple H segment. Both men really drew me in, wanting to see Taker vs Triple H three, I just have a feeling that HBK becomes the Ref in the match and turns on Triple H, due to jealousy that cannot get as close to beating Taker. From here on out, Shawn needs to be on Raw to help that story grow..

The Cena/Kane/Ryder/Eve segments were cheezier than Wisconsin and soapier than Pine Valley, yet I'm still finding them a heckuva lot of fun. Smart to play the whole friendzone bit so close to Valentine's Day -- you can tell it hit a nerve. Hope Eve ends up playing Lita to Kane's Edge, that would be a great twist, though Lita could act rings around Eve. And it needs JR there to call her "Jezebel".

I'm not sure what to think of the "American Baldass", but the HHH/Taker storyline has been built very well so far, and given how uninterested I am to see another match between these two, that's saying something. I don't quite get why HBK is proud of his friend for ending careers, but that's a minior quibble. HHH is doing the best promo work of his career at the moment.

A lack of good matches tonight, but beyond that, the EC build-up was good. I'm even looking forward to Beth/Tamina. The "debate" worked for me, largely thanks to Kori's conviction and R-Truth's cracked dialogue, and the twist with Kofi nailing Jericho at the end.

I loved R Truth during the debate and his speech on makeing spider stew

thats 2 weeks in a row without Brodus Clay on Raw

and 3 weeks in a row without Jack Swagger on Raw shows how much WWE cares about there champions.

I thought the Punk Miz match could have gone longer John Cena and Zack Ryder's soap oprea skit didn't need to close Raw

Not enough wrestling Too much talking what else is new on Raw

RAW last night was fantastic. I love the whole Kane-Cena-Ryder scenario they have going on. I may be alone in this thought, but I truely believe that it is the perfect feud for Cena to have with WrestleMania looming. The whole ''Embracing the Hate'' shtick may seem a little pretentious, but it was angles like this that got me into wrestling in the first place. I'm all about psychology in wrestling and this feud really does bring it in that sense. I really hope the match at Elimination Chamber is better than the one they had at the Royal Rumble just to make the feud a tad more rememberable.

I also liked how they made the Elimination Chamber match have a bit of a story behind it instead of just four random opponents facing each other. Kofi Kingston's mic work, albeit short, stuck out. I really hope this is the beginning of a push for him because he's worked his ass off for too long. If Swagger deserves a shot, I'll be damned if Kofi doesn't.

Finally, HBK and HHH's mic work was absolutely masterful, as two of the veterans showed the young guns how to do it. I'm already liking the HHH-Undertaker feud better than last year, simple because, this time it is a feud. I'm really intrigued by what Undertaker's promos mean...

Overall, this edition of RAW was particularly stellar. The matches were a little meh but that is expected as we continue down the Road to Wrestlemania. All in all, RAW earns an 8/10 from me

The whole Raw was very solid, from Punks facial expressions and actions during the EC promo (makes peace sign, vote for me!), to the HHH/HBK promo.

However, I honestly feel the crowd should be given extra credit, they honestly made the show 100x better. It's not often you get crowds as hot as that and some of the chants were epic, give them a medal for chanting "you f*cked up" after the RKO botch and "we all hate you" at Cena. Best crowd in years.

I cringed at first at the thought of a "debate" but it went over pretty well. Loving the edge that Kofi showed which we haven't really seen since his feud with Orton. And why isn't R-Truth a champion already? Dude's golden! Put him in the UC/IC league since Swagger nor Rhodes have any real threat.

Obviously the HHH/HBK segment stole the show. So awesome and I'm actually more excited for this years Streak-fight than last years. If they're getting HBK involved it could lead to him being the ref... but I want him to wrestle so bad. A triple threat match at WM... one can wish no? :P

Pretty lackluster matches aside from the Punk/Miz one.

Then we have the Cena/Kane/Eve/Ryder clusterfuck. Well it might not be a clusterfuck but I like that word. I haven't really be interested in this feud other than being one of those who hopes Cena would snap and become interesting. It was very cheesy but it worked. Not in that I'm interested in Cenas match with Kane this sunday but what will happen after WM, if they'er gonna take it further or it's gonna be one of those things they just let go.

Very nice Raw.

Glad Ryder isn't going out like a sucker and B**** slapped Cena in a backbrace. I lol'd the whole time.

Great Raw imo. The initial fail of Miz trying to pipebomb CM Punk with Punk's reply of "Great Job" was so funny I had to rewind my illegal stream several times to watch it again. Poor Jerry was so nice to everyone but Miz he's really in the shit house. WTF was the buzzing about? Not awesome. Awkward. It's like they play so much to smarks now it's almost comical.

Ending was unexpected and unexpected always gets thumbs up from me. Saving my judgements for Mania until after EC.
