Yes Ben has a higher passer rating than Peyton Manning, but he is nowhere near Peytons level, so why even make that statement?
easily, Ben has a higher winning Percentage. I can compare his first 4 years to Favres forst four and last 4 and still have a comparison.

I will admit that Ben has contributed to this TEAM because this is a TEAM sport. However I will not except your argument on Parker and Bettis. To say Parker was not instrumental to there success, especially in the Super Bowl, is just stupid.
Never said he wasnt instrumental, he just fumbled, can't catch out the backfield and cant block if his life depended on it.

Yes Bettis was well past his prime, but he still did his job of getting the tuff yardage. He was the perfect compliment to Parker. I just don't see how you can give Ben credit for that playoff run.
Fairly easy there record with and without him on the field. It's that simple, basically they were 13-3 with him and 2-2 without him. Hmmm interesting. Made the biggest tackle in his life because of Jerome's stupid fumble. saved the game, without that they were sitting at home, watching INDY or Denver in the SB. Yeah because Big Ben didn't throw for two Td's and had another score via bootleg. Yeah he did nothing to help his team in the AFC championship. Yeah 21-29 for 275 yds and 3 scores. Yeah he did nothing too help the Steelers too win in the playoffs. LAWLZ.
His play was neat Grossman quality (Grossman is more proof a super D can make the Super Bowl without a good QB).
Well the Bears won despite Rex Grossman because there defense was a lot better than the Steelers and the same could be said for there Special Teams. So you are gonna compare a winner to a loser?

1. Who would you take right now: Ben Roethlisberger or Tony Romo?
Pete Prisco Clark Judge

Pete Prisco That's a tough one. Romo is having the better year, so it would be easy to say him. But I would go with Roethlisberger. I think he's more of a prototype passer. He can move around and does throw well on the run, but he's more of a prototype than Romo. I do like the way Romo scrambles around to make throws, not to run. That's a sign of a smart passer. But give me the big, strong-armed passer over the smaller move-around guy any day. Plus, I think Roethlisberger gets it now. He has a nice feel for the Steelers passing game. He looks like a tackle back there playing quarterback.

Clark Judge I'll take either, but if I can only have one I'll tilt toward Roethlisberger because he has a ring and because he has the stronger arm. Look, you can't go wrong with either, but I like proven guys, and Roethlisberger won a championship game and a Super Bowl. Maybe Romo gets there with time. Heck, he's only in his second year of starting, but I know what I have in Big Ben. And what I have is someone who's accurate, who can win, who has a cannon for a right arm and who, lately, has shown an uncanny knack for escaping the pressure. OK, so he's not as mobile as Romo, but he has made plays on the run -- with last weekend's win over Cleveland the evidence.

So just to further the quarterback situation a little more. CBSsportsline asked Prisco and Judge which QB they would pick at this point, I figured Wes and Brian would like this and the arguing would go on and on again.

Actually, I have to agree with these two. Living in Cincy, I see a lot more of Ben then I do Romo, and I really just like the way Big Ben can knock defenders on his ass and make plays. I know I'm feeding Brian's ego, but at this point, I'm going with Big Ben over Romo.

of course most people voted for Tony Romo over Carson Palmer. Palmer has been a top QB in the league for several seasons now and this is only Tony's first full season in the NFL. Who knows Romo may throw 25 TD passes next year and Palmer could throw 30 or 35? Romo is still a young QB and the league will adjust to him as the seasons pass.

Well this has been a long time. I originally started this thread with a little discussion with a former poster.

Its a new year, and a new draft class.

Going to rank QBS going into this year, one through five.

Number one has to be Tom Brady- i hat him but he's still a beast. Wont have a season like last but he will still be a beastly season. Guessing 34-37 TD's.

Number two- Peyton Manning- He's an offensive coordinator in his own mean. He controls the offense, and sees the field like no other. A pro bowl yr for him is expected like always. Probably have 30-34 td's.

Number three- Ben Roethlisberger- A coin toss between him, Romo and Palmer. I pick Ben because he now has a line that has experience, and he has a receiver with height. I expect 25-30 Td's and another pro bowl caliber year. Might get held back because of a potent running game.

number four- Romo should have a Manning like year and another pro bowl year, because all the good Qb's are in the AFC :p

number five- Palmer- I hate this man but he excels on a horrible team. 35 TD's and 4000+ yds.

Dont like my ratings, you take a crack at it.

Among the QBs listed, I am gonna have to go with Ben Roethlisberger. He is the only one among them who has a Super Bowl ring. NFL QBs aren't paid to just collect stats, they are paid to win. Some may have a better winning percentage during the regular season, but Ben has the single most important win in a season, that of the Super Bowl. I probably would have also included Eli Manning in the poll...
