Both are telling a story. In fact, I'd say Coheed's song is more involved than Swift's. If you're going to base a video on being better just because of a story being present, then it automatically bumps up against every other song that has told a song ever.

Basically, what I'm saying, is come up with something that makes that video of Swift's better than Beyonce's and worthy of the VMA award for Best Music Video other than "it tells a story."

Oh, and I'm not defending Beyonce's music video. Haven't even seen the shit. Just busting chops.

Then provided my counter offering for a music video that tells a story and is better than Swift's video as I see it. Numerous things are involved in that decision, including the fact that Coheed's song isn't just a rehashing of the old "oh ma gawd, I want this boy but he has a girlfriend who doesn't treat him well!"
