[Official] Chris Benoit Memorial Thread

Benoit i cannit believe ur gone the wwe and the wrestling world will neva be the same without you. You will neva be forgotten ur with eddie now R.I.P :( :( :(

C'mon guys...just stop...we could and should have celebrated his career had he died by someone else's hand or even his own without the murder of his wife and child...the police have, at this point, indicated that benoit is responsible for the deaths...we don't want to believe this, but it's the reality of the thing...setting up a thread that is "strictly" for tributes is ridiculous...it's the equivelant of holding our hands over our ears and singing loud when we don't want to hear something...he murdered his family...think of this: benoit came out and was hero to children all over the country on a daily basis...what kind of hero kills a child's mother and leaves the child alive for a day, in their room, in sheer terror before they're killed?...if you think for a moment that it's not what happend - think again...if we are all folks who appreciate the "stories" that the WWE gives us weekly, then we have to appreciate reality, as well...picture his child, huddled next to his bed, hiding from the inevitable...what kind of tribute do you want to make now...benoit was the best of the best - but he did a horrible thing...i can imagine him watching the pay-per-view afterward to drive his own emotional instability home even more...this is not a "let's brush it under the rug" imaginary thing that induces tribute...it's a horrific, horrific thing that casts a pall on benoit (not his career, but the man) and gives a black eye to wrestling...and tho' i think he's one of the best, his cowardice here makes me sick...it's a sad, sad, night

we will ever know the whole truth but if we like it or not his legend will be tarnished by wrestling and non wrestling fans

yeah there isnt a point to post anymore i get a mark because i was making a reference about not telling ur little kids about how thier hero killed until they are old enough to find out on thier own..but yet you have alot of people who are just crapping on this guy and arent banned and they continue to keep writing..i see who are the favorites now

guys you shouldn't speculate just appreciate that he was great man and one of the only wrestlers left who goes out there and gives u a damn gud match with anyone and it doesn't matter if he won or lost he respected his opponents. so all u guys who say wwe sucks now well take a second just to sum up how hard and stressful it is not many people could handle it. so just appreciate not accuse. RIP Crippler
Its not speculation any longer. He killed a child and a woman. Who cares how he executed wrestling holds. Everyone who took part in honoring a murderer tonight at RAW should be ashamed of themselves. They knew what happened already before the show, but the investigators wont let them talk.

Chris Benoit was my all time favorite wrestler. His matches were true classics and he will be missed. I'll never forget the matches he had with Angle, Jericho, Eddie, dean malenko, jushin thunder liger, no matter who he wrestled, he always brought out the best in them!
R.I.P Chris, you will be missed very much.

"people who are just crapping on this guy"????....reallly?...poor chris - he murdered his family...what world are we living in?...do we just want to recall his gret moments and ignore the fact that he let us, most of the wrestling world and his family down...are we that delusional?

I am not gonna speculate from anything I have read or seen I will just stick to here and WWE.com for further information and just hope that double murder suicide was just a bad first guess but it was wrong. Even if he DID do it I still will respect him for his days in wrestling. I mean non of us know him personally and cant tell or say anything on his behalf on wether he did it or not and if he did what pushed him to do so.

I can't believe this, it's one thing if he died that's terrible, he was a great wrestler and will be missed, but his wife and child are dead too, and he did it? Why, it doesn't add up. Things like this just show people are capable of anything no matter what their background is. Heres a wealthy, well respected man, and from watching the tributes on Raw had many close friends in which he looked out for and loved. I pray he didn't do it because it's beyond unthinkable. I'm sick to my stomach and i can not imagine how people that are closer to him must feel. Unreal

R.I.P Chris Benoit the wrestler

does anyone think or know of pain killers having a psychological effect to drive someone to doing this? Im not trying to defend him or make that an excuse, just wondering if maybe this was a motivating factor. That or steroids maybe?

I think its just people believing there is good even in the worst of people and thats how they want to remember them by, not by the horrible evil deeds they commit but from whatever good they had done in their lives prior to it. I think there is a lot of denial though even from myself, we accept whats happened, but still prefer to remember the chris benoit as the guy who entertained us on tv not as the assumed murderer we all thinking he is now.

An autopsy and such still needs to be done. At this point, it is only speculation. All the facts needs to be dealt with first.

Regardless of what happened, he, his wife, and child are missed.

It is certainly one of those situations where you want to remember him for who he was in the wrestling world and what he did for the business. But just can't get past what he did to his family.

Well said...Its amazing how many people in here are leaving posts about armbars and suplexes. This was a horrible, brutal man. A child killer. I dont care how many five star matches he had or how grateful he was to Wrestling fans. He was a self absorbed, out of touch maniac.

rwilliams73 - i don't think that folks who taped segments in the afternoon should be ashamed of themselves - the truth did not come out until late in the evening - around 10 or so eastern...that's when the sheriff had a press conference...we can assume they talked to the WWE a few minutes prior...at that poinjt it would have been a train wreck if the WWE cancelled the tribute and said "hey we have no respect for this guy"...WWE is going to be paying its dues for a long time for this anywat - whether folks think it's road stress, steroids, whatever - bottom line is that they made the first call to the police, out of concern (the only thing that is going to help them save face now)...this is not, no matter how it stacks up, the WWE's fault

I don't think anything has been 100% as of yet but yea, it's sadly looking as if Chris Benoit took the life of his wife and child before his own. I respect Benoit for his years of wrestling and working his way up the ladder the hard way, his moment with Eddie at WrestleMania XX is still one of my all-time favourites and it's a shame he didn't continue to have such success, he deserved it. However, if it does turn out that Benoit is, as some have put it, "a murderer" that respect will disappear in an instant and be replaced not by anger, but by disappointment in one of my heroes.

im sick of hearing that benoit is a 'murderer', maybe he is but lets remember the good times, benoit was one of all time favorite wrestlers and other benoit fans may not want to hear it but, i think he did murder his son and wife. But im sick of people shooting down benoit because of that. He was a damn good wrestler and deserves some respect for his dedication to wrestling.

Right on! Don't let a pesky little detail like child murder get in the way of hero worship. If you people want to ignore the fact that he killed his family. How about the fact that he was a total coward and killed himself too?

Because I am probably older than most of you (40) I rememer his earlier career. His fued with Kevin Sullivan was AMAZING. I also remember his wife Nancy as the infamous Woman. I was in shock when I heard the news on the radio. I was commenting just last week...watching his last televised match...how Chris was one of my favorites of all time.

I don't know what happened. The life of a pro wrestler is not an easy one..for the wrestler or his family. If you take a look at all the wrestling personalities that have died in recent years you can clearly see that. Was she cheating? did she want a divorce? Did Chris just lose it for no reason? I have no idea...I only know that I will miss watching him perform. I don't know what went wrong Chris...but I will miss you.

WHO DO you PEOPLE THINK YOU ARE?! Who are we to say anything about somebody's personal life? We don't even know if he really did it! It doesn't matter if he is listed as a murderer. We don't know what happened. Not every single police report is 100% correct. We don't know Chris Benoit the man. All we know is Chris Benoit, 4-horsemen, entertainer, wrestler, athlete, legend, and hero. Let us remember OUR Chris Benoit.

Chris Benoit was, nay is, one of my favorite wrestlers ever. He was a class act back stage and put his body on the line every day. One of my favorite matches of his were Wrestlemania XX, Royal Rumble '03, and the cage macth on RAW against Kurt Angle. We will never, ever, know what happened inside the home of the Benoit family over the last four days. We will only know that Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy Benoit, and son Daniel Benoit will greatly be missed. R.I.P Chris. R.I.P
