I've been reading all of these messages on this board, I've been reading all the news reports that they've put out since yesterday afternoon, and I watched the Raw tribute. What really makes me sick to my stomach, is the fact that people, non-wrestling fans and wrestling fans alike aren't remembering Chris for his legacy, for a life that all of the wrestlers remember him for. But they're remembering him for something that hasn't even been confirmed. Yes, it's been confirmed that it's a murder-suicide, that someone killed someone, and the son and then themselves. What we don't know is who did what, how, or even why.

I don't think we'll ever know the real reason why- people can speculate all they want, and make up any rumors they want, but I'll never believe it. We'll know how when the autopsies return, when they finally release the "instruments of death," but until they can prove who has been dead longer, Benoit or his wife, I don't believe any story I read. I will continue to remember Chris as the man that he was on camera, the man that I heard about before any of this bullshit has happened.

Chris Benoit, from stories of peope I know who've met him, and people in the business themselves, was a great man. He was one of the most incredible athletes that I have ever seen perform in person, and one of the most respectable people that I've ever heard about. Until anything has been officially proven, I think we should all remember Chris Benoit as the person we knew before any of this happened. Remember him as his friends and co-workers did.

#1 Dissrespecting somebody who potentially killed somebody does not make you the same as them.

#2 People are allowed to change there views.

#3 Murder might be apart of your life but it certainly isn't a part of my life. Nor will it ever be.

#4 If my best friend ''murdered'' a child I would shop him myself.

# 5 Murder and taking crystal meth are two different things. There's a difference between harming yourself and others.

I, like everyone, was truly shocked to hear of Chris Benoit's passing. The circumstances make me shiver to the core. As for his wrestling career, Chris Benoit will likely go down in history of one of wrestling's greatest athletes. I can't recall one match of his that wasn't entertaining. Many people comment on his lack of mic skills, but the truth is, he didn't need them. These days, wrestler's use their mic time to build up a match or their image and to essentially tell a story. Chris Benoit could do all of the above without speaking a word.

While it may be too soon to jump to conclusions, I also know that law enforcement would not be releasing a statement they felt might not hold up. Sadly, we'll have to accept the fact that something truly wrong happened here. It's made me realize that these men are more than just the image they portray on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday nights. A majority of us never knew Benoit personally, so we can't know what drove him to such actions. I just wish a friend of his, any friend of his, would have sat down and talked to him to help alleviate his issues before they spiraled out of control. Chris always came across as a man of good character, but he must have been harboring some demons or intense internal issues.

There are so many people my thoughts go out to right now. First of all, my sincerest condolences to his surviving family, as well as the family of Nancy. My thoughts also go out to the friends of Chris Benoit, who are likely second guessing themselves and wishing they could've done more to help. This incident was a tragedy in a every sense of the word, and I hope that everyone involved, be it first hand or even as a grieving or disillusioned fan, can learn something from this.

True. But people have many personalities. People are different with certain people. And some people never let on what's actually going on in there head. I was different with my girlfriend than I was with friend. And I have shit in my head that I would never tell anybody. Being a nice guy in public doesn't really mean anything.

All I can say I will wait until the autopsy. I am so shocked I have been a wrestling fan since I was a little girl I never miss Monday Night Raw or Smackdown if I am not home I tivo it. I just hope the rumors are not true. To kill a child is unforgivable your own flesh and bone.

feel free to think that way if he is your friend, or even your family, hell think that way if you maybe met the guy. I never met him, i'm not related to him, and i'm not a friend of his. As far as i'm concerned, the man killed his family. He ranks up there with Scott Petersons and Bobby Cutts of the world. If what we are hearing is false, ill be one of the first to get on here and post and admit i was wrong. As of now, he's a cold blooded killer and can rot in hell. For all of you defending Benoit, i am honestly curious on your opinions of the 2 examples above that killed their families. I'm sure you weren't paying your respects to those 2 sacks of shit

As someone who has suffered from Carbon Monoxide poisoning I can attest it is not something that you know about... it just gets you, I blacked out at the wheel of my car once from it... This is a memorial thread and frankly I am appalled people are speculating or arguing whether he will have a legacy or not...

Chris Benoit the man WAS the wrestler.... they were the same man.... For many, many years... his friends attest he was a wonderful friend and family man... The only thing certain right now is 2 kids have lost their Father, Stepmother and sibling... If Chris is found accountable then there will be a reason and it will be highly unlikely we or they will ever know it...but if Chris Benoit is found accountable, it was not the man (or the wrestler the fans know who commited the act...but someone who was mentally ill...

Those of you saying you no longer have respect for Benoit.. Have some respect for the 2 children who will have to live with what has occured in the last few days for their ENTIRE lives...

And

I'm agreeing with Jake here, Imagine a tribute thread to the columbine killers, the virgin tech killers, Ian Huntley, Harold Shipman. No, unfortuantely Benoit's in the same league as them now a cold blooded murderer and to all the people who say he's up there it's a load of crap. He killed his wife and 7 year old son.

As a wrestler he was great but am sorry his legacy is no more for me, in my eyes he's a murderer.

So you mean to say your are labeling the guy a killer first so ur judge and jury though you are willing to admit if your wrong how bout if you aint got anything decent to say dont say anything at all.

And wait to the results of the autopsy before Judging something we know little about!!!!

All of you deniers need to realize something---if someone else did this, please explain the following:

1. Nancy was killed on Saturday, Daniel on Sunday, and Benoit on Monday. How and why would someone kill the wife, wait a day, kill the son, wait another day, and then kill Benoit?

2. All authorites are treating it as a murder-suicide. If someone else did the murdering, then that would mean they committed suicide afterwards, and their body would've been at the scene. Meaning they would've released info on FOUR bodies found at the home, not three as they've reported.

The latest:

TMZ has learned more about the deaths of WWE wrestling superstar Chris Benoit, his wife and son -- and the information is extremely disturbing.

Several Atlanta-based law enforcement sources have told TMZ Benoit may have strangled his wife on Saturday, then smothered his son in his bed a day later. Investigators refuse to officially comment, pending final confirmation by the coroner on the cause and time of the deaths.

One source told TMZ that Benoit was texting friends during Sunday's WWE "Vengeance" Pay-Per-View program -- possibly watching the show with his son, who may have been alive at the time.

According to sources, Benoit then hanged himself Monday in a weight room inside the family home.

I posted earlier that as late as 11:59 pm is Saturday and as early as 12:01 am is Sunday. I dont get why people think it's strange. It's the night. The child would have been asleep.

My deepist condolinces go out to the benoit family
i won't believe wat anybody says of how chris killed his wife and son untill it is 100% proofin
from the footage last night on raw chris looks like a man who would do anything for his children a man who loved his children more than life itself

1 is pure speculation

2 it is prelimery enquiries he could have came home is wife and son dead and took his own life

did u not hear bout bob woolmer who people speculated was killed the pakistan cricket coach????????though weeks l;ater autopsy proved he was not

Again true. But this is three people. One of which comitted suicide. People wouldn't speculate so much if all 3 had just been found dead. But Benoit was found hanged. It's slightly different from the Woolmer situation.

I'm still in shock over his death. Chris Benoit was one of my favorite wrestlers in the world. He was talented, entertaining and he could put on a classic match to keep the crowd moving. I first fell in love with him when he first came to the WWE 7 years ago.

He will be sorely missed. I don't care what the reports say, he will be missed. Melinko, HHH, Edge, Chavo and others loved and respected him. I thought Eddie Guerrero's death was bad enough, but this one took the cake. I thought the WWE did a wonderful job putting together a tribute to him.

May Chris, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel rest in peace!

i was quoting the woolmer situation in relation to his family whom may have died off carbon monoxide poisoning as suggested as before like i said before no one should be labeled a murder till the autopsy is out and once thats out people will have the full story

fuck him. scumbag. killing your own child? i lost all respect for the man and the WRESTLER

Again, there is a difference between Chris Benoit the man and Chris Benoit the wrestler. I have all the respect in the world for him as a WRESTLER but as a man something happened and he snapped. For whatever horrible reason he apparently (as it looks now) killed his family.

This is sickening. Why would Chris Benoit do this? His career was that of something he loved. He apparently loved family according to Stephanie McMahon. His own flesh and blood son was only 7 years old. What could have possibly gone wrong that he would murder everyone and then kill himself. He was probably making a lot of money being one of the most popular and veteran wrestlers in the bunch. I just don't get it. On the radio they were talking about how steroids could have played a faction as it could hurt you psychologically as well.

Again, I was never a big fan of the guy in the first place. I thought he was talented but I was a bigger fan of the entertainment wrestlers with good gimmicks and mic work than those who could give submission holds or jeff hardys flippin around the ring.

Never-the-less, I never wish death upon anyone. This man was clearly more sick than we could have ever imagined...and clearly didn't love what he was doing as much as we thought. And apparently...didn't care too much about his wife and 7 year old baby boy either.

Chris Benoit was an amazing Wrestler if anything can be said about him.

While I wasn't the biggest fan I always thought he was talented.

They have reported that Chris Benoit strangled his wife with an electrical chord and then sufficated his 7 year old son with a plastic bag. How the hell can someone do something like this?!? This guy was clearly a sick sick man. I could never imagine anyone being able to kill their wife let alone their 7 YEAR SON.

I never liked him as a wrestler and I'm glad I didn't. Sure he was a talented wrestler...but OJ Simpson was a talented football player. That isn't the point. The point is that something bigger than wrestling occured this past weekend. A man we thought we knew murdered his wife and 7 year old son and then cowardly killed himself. Why? Does anybody know why he did this?!?

I'm sure there was no reason at all or it could have been a combination of drugs and steroids.

I understand a motive to kill your wife. I think it is still SICK. But I can UNDERSTAND a motive as she is older and could have cheated on him or something. What is the motive to kill your own 7 year old son?!?

Sickening.

I can't believe the nieve postings on this site...It's typical of most wrestling fans who believe in what is false, like what wrestling gives you. While I was a fan of WWF, WCW, and ECW back in the day, I still knew the difference between fact and fiction. It is too bad what Chris Benoit did, he is a coward, and ruined a certain hall of fame career. I'm glad the Vince McMahon "death" angle will be dropped, and I hope the name Chris Benoit is never mentioned on any wrestling programming again. This is completely different than the Owen Hart and Eddie Guerrero deaths. Just understand that you all loved "The Rabid Wolverine," "The Crippler" and "Toothless Agression." You know nothing of Chris Benoit and the sick individual that he is, nor do I personally, but I think last weekends events will show that to you. So before we reflect on Benoit the wrestler, think of Benoit the person. He killed his wife, kid, himself and a 20 year plus career in one weekend. He'll always be tied to this as they were his last actions in life.

You know, I keep remembering all the people say how he never showed emotion. How he was an Ice man, How he kept it all in. I wonder if that had something to do with him snapping. And of course, speculation leads to the thought that Nancy was a cheater. She cheated with Chris on Shane D. But of course that's nothing but speculation, and we may never know all the facts. We just have to enjoy his contributions and hope God (or whatever) forgives his sins.
