NorCal answers Wrestling (and all other) questions!

Damn man, such a struggle of a question. At one time I was EXTREMELY into music, known to my friends as someone who always knew some cool off the radar band or music that was really unique stylistically.....now I barely listen to music at all, ever.

I cant put them in order, nor can I hold myself to simply ten...

Johnny Cash
The Highwaymen
Townes Van Zandt
My Dying Bride
Dead Confederate
Generation Of Vipers
Type O Negative
Danzig
The Misfits
Silversun Pickups
Everlast
Nirvana
Eluveitie
Spectral
Northern Sword
Folkearth
Drak Tranquility
Behemoth
Tool
A Perfect Circle

Songs

Meh, only four of them are "MAJOR" acts anyways. The others are the top of their field in much less mainstream genres.

I pride myself on having an eclectic taste in music but a lot of it would still be considered mainstream.

Annnnnnnnnnd

The Time Has come!!

Special guest Mercedes Carrera, episode posted now!!

Mercedes sounds like an interesting gal. Would love to have a chat with her.

Just so long as porn wasn't mentioned... my intoverted nature would render me incapable of speech. Chatting to a beautiful woman is tricky enough for me without the extra shyness and embarrassment such conversation would cause.

Message received. Checking WWP out. Not gonna lie, you and KB on this first episode are reminding me of the In Your Head radio guys.

And now I know that In Your Head is still around.

Learning a lot this morning.

I would very heartily suggest not starting off on the first eoisodes. It was pretty rough then.

Go to the post-elimination chamber show, or the barbosa episodes, or the first time Shocky was on and go from there.

Our last roughly ten episodes have been things running like a well built machine, with an awesome variance in guests as well. I'd say at about episode 13 is (the first Barbosa episode) is when I've got my head put of my ass and things start going well.

If your not into history, I'd start at episode 17, when Progress Wrestling star Roy Johnson joined us

The content would probably be a little fresher, as well. Listening to people talk about WWE stupidity that you pushed to the back of your mind is the aural equivalent of having another person pick a scab for you.

Having met a handful of pornstars in environments where porn is not the obvious topic of conversation, I can say they mostly avoid it themselves. It's their job, and a part of almost everything else they do, so I assume it's nice to step away and be treated like a "normal person".

Okay. Wow. I can't believe I have just heard about these podcasts. Could only imagine how good they are. Gonna start listening to them now.

Pack a snack for the history episodes...They're long, but probably the best ones. Looking forward to firing up the new one tonight.

I could only find Podcast 13 that is related to history. I'll probably just go through them all anyways so I will find the rest.

13 and 14 go together as a two-parter. There's another one in the 20s. I don't recall exactly which. I'm positive it's after the return though.

2 things about Eric Mangini:

--Why can't he keep a head coaching job in the NFL? Is he too much like Chip Kelly in terms of his demand for total control?

--Why was Bill Belichick so mad at Mangini when Eric was offered a head coaching job elsewhere? Because he was leaving before Belichick was ready for him to go? How would Belichick have felt had Bill Parcells refused to let him go to Cleveland when he was offered the job there?

-- Ive heard a lot that he is a super high level disciplinarian/nut buster. When you are at the NFL level, if you do things that way, you HAVE to win, and win A LOT for players to buy in to that. He hasn't, so many locker rooms have turned on him or outright quit on him.

--Mangini accepted the Jets job unofficially during a Pats playoff run, and supposedly was recruiting players on the PATS to join his team in the offseason. Mangini was also the snitch in regards to spygate, and the whole thing going down. Given that Belichek was his mentor, I can see how he would be pretty sour with him after that stuff went down

So there was no room for a End of Year report into what went on in Ancient History this year?

There wasnt, the episode was an hour and forty minutes as it was, and you and I get chatty :lmao:

I did heartily shout you out with gracious thanks in the episode though.

ALso if you would like to do an episodes on the advancements made in the field this year, I aint scurred

Only yanking your chain, Norcs. The shout-outs were much appreciated. Building me up way beyond my station.

As for advancements in anything to do with my field beyond newly published books would veer very close to archaeology which is not something I would have any kind of expertise in.

That said, 2015 was a very up and down year for ancient historical sites. Plenty of new and exciting things have been found or reopened - the ongoing mystery of the Amphipolis and Nefertiri tombs, reopening of houses in Pompeii and Augustus' house in Rome, coin hoards in Wales and Northern Ireland etc. - but all tempered and overshadowed by the destruction wrought by IS on some of the most ancient sites in Iraq and Syria.

It could be an interesting but total bummer of a podcast.

Lulz.

In the thread in the BR were we discuss TV, probably 90% of my posts are dedicated to getting other people to watch it, because I love it so much.

If you are a big fan, then im super happy to have someone to discuss the show with finally :lmao:
