Megatron Answers Sports Questions

Who is going to be a better hitter in the Angels Lineup? Josh Hamilton or King Albert?

Who will win a Super Bowl first? Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, or RG3?

Who is the first overall pick in the draft and where does he go?

Albert. He's always been a more complete hitter, and after April last year he was the same ol Albert.

I'll go with Ryan. Flacco just isn't good enough to lead the Ravens to 3 or 4 wins and a Super Bowl. Panthers still have some rebuilding to do. Despite having 9 wins already, the Colts are low on the Talent pool and likely are a first round exit. The Redskins have a strong D and would be my second choice, but RG3 will have some health concerns always around him with his somewhat reckless style of play.

Kansas City will get the #1, and it'll likely be Geno Smith of WVU, despite him being graded as more of a mid round QB. I could see KC trading down in hopes of getting more picks and still being able to get Smith. However, QB's value always go up in the draft and I see more of the same. So yeah, Smith #1.

I don't think he's deserving of it either, but it's a QB driven league and he's the best prospect out there. Considering he's been rated in the 20s from what I've seen, I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump inside of the top 10 at worst. There's a lot of QB needy teams that will be picking in the top 10-15. KC, Arizona, Buffalo, Oakland, Jets, and Jacksonville all could be (and probably should be) looking for a QB.

Arizona's currently 11th. I would be quite stumped if they let a first rounder drop past that after seeing how experiments in the later rounds worked with Skelton and Lindley. They need someone to get Fitzgerald the ball, and you can't rely on Kevin Kolb to stay healthy for a full season. That's as far as I think Geno would drop. Just too many QB needy teams for him not to rise just based on scarcity. Whether that's smart or not is up to you, but it's not like we haven't seen guys like Christian Ponder, Ryan Tannehill, and even Tim Tebow shoot up into the first round after initially being thought as 2nd or 3rd rounders (or even lower in Tebow's case).

Will Blaine Gabbert be on the open market?

Does Chip Kelly go to the NFL, and if he does where does he go?

What NBA Player(s) are on the trading block before the all star game?

I don't think so. Most of his contract has already been paid and he still has a couple of years left on his contract. There would be no reason for the Jags to let him go since they can give him a chance to win the starting job and not have to pay him much in doing so. I still think Gabbert can be good, but it might take longer than the Jaguars have to give him.

Doubt it. Bearded somewhat covered the question, but in terms of performance, there's not much of a reason for a team to take a chance on him when he hasn't shown a lot so far. Plus maybe another year with Mularkey (if he stays healthy) will help him grow, because it's about time he starts living up to that draft status.

Yes. I'd say it's about 80% likely he goes to Cleveland. New regime that needs to put a spark into the fanbase. They have a few nice pieces although I still think a QB will be needed as Brandon Weeden isn't really the answer to me.

Rudy Gay is probably the biggest name out there. Pau Gasol is the most likely to move, likely for Bargniani and Calderon in Toronto because D'Antoni loves those stretch 4's and playing Pau is kinda like fitting a square peg in a round hole.

If Johnny Manziel has another Heisman-like season next year, do you think he'll petition the NFL to allow him to enter the NFL Draft? If so, will he be successful(successful in getting the NFL to allow him to enter the draft, not will he be successful in the NFL)?

He'll be a RS Sophomore next year, so technically he could enter the draft. You only need 3 years of college before entering and, had he not redshirted, he would've been a junior next year.

Did the Browns make the right move in getting Rob Chudzinski? (I'm going to have to figure out how to spell his name...or call him Chud)

Some franchise tag questions:

Do the Falcons franchise anyone? Do they let Grimes walk after his injury, or do they franchise a 36 year old Tony Gonzalez, who was very effective for them this year?

Do the Patriots franchise Welker and tie up a quarter of their payroll in Brady and Welker?

Do the Browns franchise Dawson, Cribbs, or neither? (My money is on franchising Dawson and letting Cribbs walk - I swear that letting Dawson walk might be the thing to finally break the fans backs in Cleveland)

Thanks, I didn't realize he had red-shirted.

Here's another one. If the Broncos win the Super Bowl this year, does Peyton Manning go out on top, or is there still gas left in the tank for one more one run?

How much time does RG3 miss next season?

I would expect the preseason for sure and possibly a game or two. Don't think he will miss a lot of regular season time, if any. 6-8 months does seem optimistic for an ACL injury, but if it's true that would bring him healthy around minicamp or preseason games. Add in the extra month of meaningless games and I'd say he'll likely start Week 1 for them.

I really thought Chip Kelly was gonna be gone there and that he'd be a great fit for them since they need something new and something that can bring a spark to the fanbase. Chudzinski really came off the radar for me but doing a little bit of research you can see that he has had a history of success developing an offense. His two years with Carolina they did well. The year at Cleveland as OC was also successful. It's not often you see teams fire one offensive coach and then get another offensive one, but it's not an awful hire.

Gonzalez is on the cusp of retirement, so he won't be getting the tag. Grimes is solid, but having to be paid like a top 5 corner may be too much. I wouldn't use the tag on either of them, if you're asking.

Welker is another one I don't think should happen. While he has been Brady's security blanket over the years, he's not the #1 option for the offense (Gronk when healthy is) and small receivers that can catch across the middle are a dime a dozen these days. Welker is the best of those, sure, but Edelman it seems has been groomed for this day to come.

Cribbs will be gone, and teams really shouldn't waste their tag on kickers. I know Dawson has been there for a while and is probably somewhat of the face of the team (like Hanson was for the Lions for a while when they were really bad) but kickers, like slot receivers, are a dime a dozen and there's plenty of options out there in both free agency and from college.

Mannings got a few years left in him. Ask this in 2 or 3 years and the response will be different.

From the logical standpoint I agree with you about Dawson. At the same time, when I went to the Browns/Bengals game this year, you should have heard the ovation for Dawson when he was introduced with special teams. In logical GM mode, I want to move on, but I can't help but feel they should hang onto the one guy who's been a part of the team since the return and who everyone in the whole city loves.

Where do Kyle Loshe and Brian Wilson end up?

Who closes games for the Dodgers next year considering all the options they have?

Vegas just released their first odds for next season Super Bowl favorites.

2014 Super Bowl Odds: Patriots: 7 to 1, 49ers: 8 to 1, Broncos: 8 to 1, Packers: 10 to 1, Texans: 14 to 1, Ravens: 14 to 1

Watcha think homie?

Boy I'd have to wait until free agency and draft gets out before I'd completely decide. I'd say Seahawks/Pats, but that'll probably change between now and Week 1.

Could, but I would think the regime would want to try to get a young QB that they could have for many years. Smith isn't any better than Palmer and isn't what's gonna take them to the playoffs. Personally someone like Arizona or Philly would be a good fit to me.

Beyonce did look pretty fine. An upgrade over the BEP and whatever other shit we've seen recently. Couldn't really hear her (people were talking over it) but it served it's purpose.

Yeah I'm thinking a 1 year deal is coming for him then he comes back out next year. Only problem is for that team getting him they have to give up a draft pick.
