How much time does RG3 miss next season?
I would expect the preseason for sure and possibly a game or two. Don't think he will miss a lot of regular season time, if any. 6-8 months does seem optimistic for an ACL injury, but if it's true that would bring him healthy around minicamp or preseason games. Add in the extra month of meaningless games and I'd say he'll likely start Week 1 for them.
Did the Browns make the right move in getting Rob Chudzinski? (I'm going to have to figure out how to spell his name...or call him Chud)
Some franchise tag questions:
Do the Falcons franchise anyone? Do they let Grimes walk after his injury, or do they franchise a 36 year old Tony Gonzalez, who was very effective for them this year?
Do the Patriots franchise Welker and tie up a quarter of their payroll in Brady and Welker?
Do the Browns franchise Dawson, Cribbs, or neither? (My money is on franchising Dawson and letting Cribbs walk - I swear that letting Dawson walk might be the thing to finally break the fans backs in Cleveland)
I really thought Chip Kelly was gonna be gone there and that he'd be a great fit for them since they need something new and something that can bring a spark to the fanbase. Chudzinski really came off the radar for me but doing a little bit of research you can see that he has had a history of success developing an offense. His two years with Carolina they did well. The year at Cleveland as OC was also successful. It's not often you see teams fire one offensive coach and then get another offensive one, but it's not an awful hire.
Gonzalez is on the cusp of retirement, so he won't be getting the tag. Grimes is solid, but having to be paid like a top 5 corner may be too much. I wouldn't use the tag on either of them, if you're asking.
Welker is another one I don't think should happen. While he has been Brady's security blanket over the years, he's not the #1 option for the offense (Gronk when healthy is) and small receivers that can catch across the middle are a dime a dozen these days. Welker is the best of those, sure, but Edelman it seems has been groomed for this day to come.
Cribbs will be gone, and teams really shouldn't waste their tag on kickers. I know Dawson has been there for a while and is probably somewhat of the face of the team (like Hanson was for the Lions for a while when they were really bad) but kickers, like slot receivers, are a dime a dozen and there's plenty of options out there in both free agency and from college.
Here's another one. If the Broncos win the Super Bowl this year, does Peyton Manning go out on top, or is there still gas left in the tank for one more one run?
Mannings got a few years left in him. Ask this in 2 or 3 years and the response will be different.
