Night Of Champions: Triple H vs. John Cena

It's really tough to make a decision with so many options in the air. SmackDown! will have a handful of stars ready for a shot at the gold, with some crazy possibilities just with NOC alone. I think CM Punk is going to try and take his shot on Sunday, but for the World Title. Triple H is too hot and they need some good ratings on the new network, so a long title run would be smart.

Heres what I think will happen

ECW title- Mark Henry wins to keep it on Tuesday nights

WWE title- HHH wins to spice things up for a fued with Edge, and to boost ratings for the network change. Jeff Hardy can also pop his head in and out of the feud

WHC- Batista wins, look at the title history, every 4th title reign is his, its his time. He can also feud with Cena for the 1st time

This will give RAW the WHC, IC, women's title and World tag titles. SD! will have the WWE title, diva's title, and ECW will have the ECW title. I think the US and WWE tag title will basically be shared between SD! and ECW

In responce to Petey, I think CM punk will take a shot at the IC title for now, and cash in MITB sometime around Royal Rumble, maybe a week or 2 before

Despite how I'd rather have other things, I think we only have two options here:

1. Cena wins the title and brings it to Raw, as the ratings on Raw seem to go up when he's champion. Hopefully, they book him right this time around and don't have him dominate for a year straight.

2. Triple H retains somehow, but Punk cashes in and wins the title, turning heel in the process and getting the WWE title back on Raw.


For the life of me, I can't see them having Batista win the WHC from Edge and ending the entire Vickie storyline, especially when they've announced the whole "July 11 Wedding" thing. I know, I know, they can just "call the wedding off", but how anticlimactic will it be if the entire La Familia story just ends on a random note of idiot Batista winning a title?

why would it b stupid for the ecw title to go back to ecw? its obv going to either big show or mark henry to take back to ecw and seeing as kane wasnt actualy drafted to ecw in the 1st place thers nothing stopping big show from winning and becoming a member of the ecw roster.

either edge or triple h will lose the title or become vacant somehow so the whc or wwe title can go to raw.

finlay and horswoggle wont win btw. id expect hawkins and ryder to win the titles soon if edge retains.

Undertaker will not be involved in this match he will be goign to raw and will have nothing to do with smackdown ... The belts are going to switch brands again... triple h on smackdown with wwe title and bataista will win against edge and take the world title to raw. ... or... the do something were they both get stripped of the belts.. either way undertaker to raw vs cena.. GOD i hate CENA lol.. and trips vs edge.. which will be GREAT!

I hope HHH wins. I wanna see the WWE title come back to Smackdown, but seeing as the WWE's keeping the spinner belt design, Cena's prolly gonna take it back, seeing as the design fits Cena a lot more, since he's the one who came up with the design.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but.... I hope Cena wins. I want the WWE Title to stay on Raw, and the World Heavyweight Title to stay on SmackDown. As much as I dislike Cena as Champion, I do think it's better than Batista. I think it'll be a decent match, and I hope that if Cena does win, he doesn't win by submission again.

well, with triple H moving to smackdown, I think it's gonna be a good sign to see Cena winning the WWE title on sunday night, and then maybe have Triple H feud against edge to see the title, the night of champions match should be good and set up a lot of stuff for the following months. Also I expect edge to retain against batista now, and then either triple H or a possible returning Undertaker wining the WHC title at summerslam. the WWE was orignally going to save HHH-Cena for summerslam, but moved it up. either way, I'm really looking forwards to this match on sunday.

I don't know for sure how this battle of the titans will go. My guess is that HHH will come out on top, because why would Cena win both battles of the titans. I don't see it going any other way, but anyway.

Ok, they seemingly are building HHH in the underdog in this, the reference numerous times to "who won 2 years ago". Although besides that it has been a toe to toe fued with.

Now people are saying that HHH moved to SD! so he will lose, but that is stupid really. The titles are everywhere and they won't really be put back into place for 2 ppv's at the least. The draft confuddled everything, which was good.

Now I am sure that they will do something to sort the titles out, but if they are building SD! as the A show, then having both major titles on there temporarily will be good for it. That is why HHH will retain.

1. A double title switch, Batista takes the WHC to Raw, HHH retains, and brings back the classic WWE championship.

2. I don't see trips losing to cena cleanly, but if there is some type of interference i see all hell breaking lose, and CM punk taking the wwe championship back to raw, with edge retaining the WHC.

I honestly think cena will win, Some where during the bout ref will be knocked out. Trips looks like he is in control, out of no where edge comes out and spears trips. Reason being "he is the only world champion on smackdown"... some shit like that. Gives raw a world title again and this can lead to edge vs trips at GAB for WHC.

Hmmm i spent most my time talking about the WHC in the WWE champ thread. Well I hope cena wins.

Well fucking A. One of the world titles will be changing hands. And after seeing Trips and Batista standing tall on SD!, it further cements in my mind that Trips will be taking the loss here. They need to give the ball to Cena and let him run with it on RAW. And I dont think they have the faith in Batista to let him be that brands champ. SO therefore I see Cena becoming the flagship. Cena goes over Trips, as usual.

I'll be very surprised if Cena doesn't go over HHH tonight and bring HIS spinner championship belt back to Raw with him. They've given us a nine month break from Cena as champion, but Cena is good for business and Raw's ratings seem to go up when he's champion. I don't think he'll go over clean though. I can see La Familia somehow costing Trips this match which allows him to not look weak and sets up his feud with Edge.

Yeah I can see Edge costing Trips the title after he's gone over Batista tonight. Leading to an Edge vs Triple H feud over the Summer. By which time either Hardy/Kennedy/MVP/Shelton will have established themselves as the next in line for a shot. And one of them takes the title off Edge/Triple H in the long run.

Long story short. Cena wins. =)

Well I think that Triple H wont lose at NOC to Cena because itl be very stupid if the title return to Raw just les than a week after it left hel loset to Hardy by interference from Edge or La familia that will resolve into a WHC match at the great a. bash where Taker makes hes return by chokslaming Edge and costing him the title which will leave to thear mach at Summerslam

Also if they return the WWE title to Raw and the ECW title to ECW the change that the draft did and was suposed to restore raitings will be lost and the fans will be bored because if the return then the draft will lose half off its meaning I think that the titles will stay on those brands for a wayle only til the raitings are up again then Punk will cashe in the breafcase and return the WWE title to Raw but only wenThe ECW title goes to ECW

It sort of depends on what title is defended first... Cena vs HHH first? I see HHH dropping the title.. THEN causing Batista to lose his match so there is a title for HHH to go after... A feud between HHH and Edge is a forgone thing... This also works into the hinted (spoiler ?) Batista heel turn as well.. They started a Batista vs Cena feud a few years ago during a Royal Rumblle when they were the last two standing. (Batista won to get at HHH)

Normally, I love it when an overwhelming majority is proven wrong, even when i'm one of the majority! this shows that WWE can be unpredicatble at times, such as the draft, and the 2008 Royal Rumble. Even when signs point to a certain result, one variable changes and you have a new result. While i am afraid that cena we'll take the title due to what could be an insanely popular Edge vs HHH for the WHC, I do want to see HHH walk out as champ, and Batista as WHC. have Triple H and and Edge feud over the "A" title, because Edge is worthy of the "A" title. Then again, maybe we could have a completely different result from the two major predictions of NOC. (1. Batista taking the WHC to Raw. 2. Cena taking the WWE Title to Raw.)

I'm going to predict that the Edge/Batista match will come before this one, and Edge coming off a victory will screw HHH out of the title. Put the belt on Cena, and at the same time starting an Edge/HHH feud that can last for the summer. This would be a great move for the WWE as it wouldn't make HHH look weak, but it would get the title off him.

As for the match itself it probably will be decent. Similar to their earlier matches, with Cena coming out on top.

I agree 100%. I like Triple H but I want Cena to win because I'm not ready for Edge to lose his championship yet and I much rather see Cena as the champ on RAW rather than Batista. Besides I think Edge-HHH would be better if HHH was chasing the title, rather than Edge.

I expect Edge to retain and then costing HHH the title, spearing him out of nowhere, allowing Cena to win the championship. I wouldn't be surprised if HHH retains but after the match Edge spears him once or twice. Then CM Punk cashes his MITB contract and beats HHH, which would start a HHH-Edge fued and a possible Cena-Punk fued.

I'm actually looking forward to this match. John Cena and Triple H are obviously the two most over guys in the WWE, so the crowd reaction should be quite interesting, much like their match at WrestleMania 22.

The WWE has a great opportunity to really start shaking things up, so they may have somthing unpredictable happen here....hell, by the end of the night, all THREE World Titles may be on SmackDown! (not for long, but still).

Anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if either Cena or Triple H won here, but....I think I'm going for Cena in this one. 60% for Cena, 40% for Triple H.

I think Cena should only hold the Title for a little bit though. Maybe until Unforgiven.

And my response is likely going to involve, people not knowing the concept of putting someone over. It's impossible for Triple H to put John Cena over, because John Cena is above Triple H, he's already over him. The only way someone could be put over is if John Cena lies down for Triple H, that's it.

John Cena should win, because the thought of Batista carrying the Raw Brand, and Triple H in front of the Smackdown brand is very scary at this point.

I have to say that this match lived up to the hype and had an ending that I dont think people saw coming. I think once people saw edge retain they instantly thought cena would win. That wasnt the case. This was an awesome match and both guys deserve a ton of credit.

I'm surprised and intrigued by the outcome. I thought the belt was all but Cena's. It should have been. For what his push has been worth over the past 6 months or so, he should have stayed injured.

My theory on the title is that both world titles go to Smackdown. Vicike then makes HHH give up the WWE title. That way The Game doesn't lose, and Raw is made to look inferior by being given the title back. Instead of a worthy wrestler winning like they should do.
