NFL Week 17 LD

@George Steele's Barber You seriously can say Megatron is one of the best ever? Over, say, Jerry Rice,Randy Moss and Cris Carter etc.

No, I'm saying he is the best playing right now. A hell of a lot better than anyone that Manning has to throw to. He is a game changer. He is a guy that you need to account for with two guys on every play because of his leaping ability and strength.

But I am also saying that he could end up being the best ever especially in today's NFL with less contact from the DBs allowed and rules that better protect the QBs and WRs. That remains to be seen.

Here is the comment that triggered this whole discussion:

Here is how I should have started my whole argument:

Glad to know I am not the only one to disagree with Big Sexy. Thanks for the support Justin.

The pro bowl being a popularity contest isn't a legitimate argument for Eli making the pro bowl over Stafford. If any player, coach, or fan were to use that as their reasoning for voting Eli, I would not consider that legitimate.

Pro Bowl is a popularity contest. Your guy lost despite his better statistics. You can speculate on the "bad boy" image all you want and I will speculate that there are more fans, coaches and players who hate Eli because of that stupid look on his face.

Until Stafford accomplishes more, there is no way you can easily argue that he has surpassed Manning.

That explains it. You are one of those people who would vote in the "name" rather than the guy having a better season. Who the best players are doesn't matter to you, only past accomplishments that have contributed absolutely nothing to how the player did THIS year.

You can't even argue against this, your own words make it impossible. By making that statement about Stafford needing to accomplish more tells me everything I need. You are a superficial fan only. You only care about the so called superstars that you can see in commercials. You aren't a real fooball fan, you are a pretender. Your total lack of respect for Victor Cruz also demonstrates this. Guy has been the Giants biggest playmaker all year, been absolute money, and you downplayed him like he was a scrub to make your pathetic defense of Eli. The Pro Bowl isn't about what you did last year or the year before, it's about this year. And this year, Stafford has more wins, way more TDs, less INTs, and will probably finish with more yards as well. That is what he "accomplished". What has Eli "accomplished" this year that Stafford hasn't done better? Possibly win the mighty NFC East with an awesome 9-7 record? That will show all his naysayers!

I'm scared for us against Denver. Pittsburgh has been struggling offensively all season against mediocre competition.

Have you seen Denver play the last two weeks? Their offense has put up a combined 17 points against Buffalo and Kansas City. Pitts defense will likely hold them under or around ten and the Steeler offense will put up more then that.

You think Pit will allow Denver 10 pts.? I think they'll be lucky to get that many, Pittsburgh's defense alone will likely score more pts. than the Denver offense, which has looked pitiful that past few weeks, & has zero momentum going into the playoffs.

Since when did the pro bowl become a career achievement award? It's a game for the best players in a particular season. This season Stafford was better then Eli.

Since when did the Pro Bowl become a game for the best players in a particular season? That's your assumption. It's an All "Star" game.

The All Pro teams are supposed to be for the guys who had the best season.

Eli has like what 4-5 4th quarter comebacks this season and has had the best season of his career. Stats only say so much and bar a couple bad games against the Redskins, Eli has to do a lot against tough opposition and to an extent he's done that.

If that were the case then the fans would be given 100% of the voting. Not to mention the fact that most of the biggest stars don't play in the game anyways because they don't give a shit.

I obviously spoke too soon, though the defense hasn't exactly put the offense in the best positioning. Rob Ryan may have been the most overrated hire of the offseason.

This is the most frustrating kind of game. We're one big play away from being right back in there and we keep tripping over ourselves.

And there is no way a guy from Michigan can be biased in favor of the Lions and their players. How many Giants games have you watched this year?

I have a DVR, I don't watch commercials. For your information I am a Bills fan, I hate the Pats, Dolphins, Giants (SB XXV) and Cowboys (SBs XXVII and XXVIII) more than any other teams in the league. I think Eli is personally a giant turd.

You aren't a real fooball fan, you are a pretender.

See my comment of being a Bills fan. I live in Chicago but I have stuck with my Bills even though they have now taken over for the Lions as having the longest playoff drought in the league. I could easily jump on the Bears bandwagon but I don't.

Your total lack of respect for Victor Cruz also demonstrates this. Guy has been the Giants biggest playmaker all year, been absolute money, and you downplayed him like he was a scrub to make your pathetic defense of Eli.

How have I disrespected Cruz? I had Cruz on my Fantasy team this year but Manning has gotten him the ball and put it accurately ahead of these guys to lead them to extra yardage. Manning is really good and has been for most of his career. Stafford had a good year and put up good numbers but Manning is the guy that determines whether or not the Giants offense succeeds, not Cruz. I don't think Stafford means nearly as much to the Lions success.

The Pro Bowl isn't about what you did last year or the year before, it's about this year.

Says you. I say it is a popularity contest voted 1/3 for the fans, coaches and players each.

Stats are not the only metric of individual ability or success.

As I said before Manning is a better QB. Nothing you guys have presented makes me think otherwise.
