NFL Week 17 LD

I don't think I've been that critical of him. I just think he is at best the fourth best QB in the NFC. Maybe fifth or sixth when you start to throw in Newton, Ryan and Vick.

And before anyone starts to argue, he has been better than Vick this year. I haven't seen enough of Newton or Ryan.

You haven't seen enough of Ryan? he's been in the league for 4 yrs. & has taken his team to the playoffs 3 of those 4 yrs. He's pretty fucking good, despite his inability to win a playoff game so far (which I can see him doing this year).

Are the Lions fans listening to Collinsworth (a guy who knows a lot about more about football than any of us) and seeing the stats on the screen that talk about Manning's accomplishments this year alone? The guy is really good and has been really good this year.

I don't think anyone is saying Manning has been bad this year, just that Stafford has had a slightly better year, & is more deserving of a spot on the Pro Bowl roster.

No one said he was bad this year. Just not as good as Stafford. There's no shame in being the 4th best qb in the NFC this season. Especially when number one and two are Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. Almost every analyst I've heard has said that Stafford deserved to be in the pro bowl over Eli.

I just hate how everyone praises Eli Manning so much.

Why? He and Cruz are the reason we're going to make the play-offs barring divine intervention.

Nicks has been 50/50. He's either having a great, solid game receiving or he's treating the ball like it's a hot potato. Manningham has been quiet. We lack a receiving TE despite Ballard trying his hardest, he's a poor man's Jermichael Finley in that he can have average games but he'll still drop it a ton.

The running game hasn't been great. Tynes is an unreliable kicker. The saving graces of our injured, beat-up D have been Jason Pierre-Paul and Antrelle Rolle but we're heavily ineffective against the run (my big fear for next week against Atlanta).

Eli's decision making, accuracy, power and generally ability to find someone open when he needs to is what has us in the play-offs.

It really doesn't matter, as I imagine either Brees or Rodgers will likely be in the SB & as a result won't want to risk injuring themselves in the meaningless glorified exhibition game that is the pro bowl. Stafford will likely be added to the roster as an alternate.
