The Kansas City Chiefs required Matt Cassell and Mike Vrabel from the Patriots today for just a 2nd Round pick.

This acquisition, in my opinion, could be the beginning of a good passing game for KC. They’ve got some very good wide receivers.

As far as their defense goes, this move only adds veteran leadership as well as some much needed help on the defensive side of the ball. Glenn Dorsey can’t do it all on his own.

All in all, some good moves by the Chiefs.

There was a three way trade being discussed yesterday between the Pats,Broncos, and either Vikes,Lions,or Bucs. Where Cutler would go to one of the extra three teams.(depending on who offered the most) Cassel would go to Denver and New England would get a 1st round draft pick. NE took the 2nd rounder from KC instead. This proves two things to me.

1.) Belichick is so bitter at McDaniels for leaving he'd take less from KC just to keep Cassel away from Denver.

2.) The Vikings aren't completely set on their QB situation if they were looking at Cutler. Which gives me hope.

Now why McDaniels would want to trade away Cutler who made a pro bowl last year for a QB who has had one year to his name is beyond me. Cassel is unproven while Cutler has done wonders for the broncos. I guess Josh wanted his guy. Also why would the Vikes trade their 4th round pick away for Rosenfels if they weren't sure he was gonna be anything more than a backup. He is a slight upgrade to Jackson. Emphasis on slight. We could have gotten Garcia and kept our draft pick. If we had traded a 1st and a third for Cutler. I would have been pissed because we would only have a second,a sixth and a seventh left over. We need a young center and some depth at defensive tackle. We could have kept our pick and traded for Cutler. Although Belichick wanted to be a douche and block McDaniels anyway. But come on we are a QB away from a Superbowl and Rosenfels is not the answer.

He's not bitter, he's playing the role of Fatherly Tough Love. He's done it with all the other coaches who have left the Belichick tree. And Eric Mangini wanted to be a dick back, as he took a team in the same division, which is why he got treated the worst.

Scott Pioli wasn't a coach, he was a staff member. Belichick decided to kill two birds, with one stone. He slapped McDaniels in the face by helping his new rival, Pioli, and sent Vrabel and Cassel to K.C.

The fact is, Belichick isn't going to agree with any of his assistants leaving his staff, because he believes until they're capable of replacing him, they aren't capable of being a winning Head Coach. That's my thoughts on that, anyways.

The other reason, and likely the bigger reason, is because by sending Cassel and Vrabel to K.C., in exchange for a draft pick.. they saved over 18 million that can not go toward other players. Not a bad move, for one trade.
2.) The Vikings aren't completely set on their QB situation if they were looking at Cutler. Which gives me hope.
Any team who looks at Cutler needs help. Cutler is a problem case, more than a solution.
Now why McDaniels would want to trade away Cutler who made a pro bowl last year for a QB who has had one year to his name is beyond me.
McDainels knew what Cassel could do, and likely knew Cutler's attitude issue. He wanted Cutler out, for a different future Franchise player.

Just because Cutler made the Pro Bowl, doesn't mean he deserved it. Wasn't there a lot of disagreement last year over him going, but Rivers not? Or something to that effect? The fans vote for the Pro Bowl.. it's a popularity contest, more than by actual talent.
Cassel is unproven while Cutler has done wonders for the broncos. I guess Josh wanted his guy.
What has Cutler ever done? He hasn't lead them to a winning season since being there. 8-8, at best. Cassel, upon filling in for Tom fricken Brady, lead them to an 11-5 season.
Also why would the Vikes trade their 4th round pick away for Rosenfels if they weren't sure he was gonna be anything more than a backup.
I think you should've stopped with "Why would the Vikings trade away for Rosenfels". He's a glorified back-up, and always will be. Even with a 4th round pick, they got robbed.
He is a slight upgrade to Jackson. Emphasis on slight.
Urm.. no. Jackson is just as good, stat wise, as Rosenfels is, NOW. And Rosenfels is older, which means Jackson is only likely going to learn and attempt becoming better. I doubt Rosenfels can do that.
We could have gotten Garcia and kept our draft pick. If we had traded a 1st and a third for Cutler. Minnesota needs WRs. While you need a QB to pass to those WRs, you still need a better assortment of them to pass to. Berrian is good, and Rice is coming along.. but outside of that, I think they considered bringing in the town drunk to see if he had good hands.

And Minnesota already had enough issues with Culpepper as their QB.. I doubt they need the attitude filled Cutler coming in and taking over. Besides, Cutler wants to pass, pass and pass some more. Minnesota has quite possibly the best one-two punch at RB of any N.F.L. team. Why the shit would they even consider passing?
Although Belichick wanted to be a douche and block McDaniels anyway. But come on we are a QB away from a Superbowl and Rosenfels is not the answer.
I thought that too. About Minnesota being a QB away from a Superbowl.. but in truth, something else will always come along and screw up. I mean, New England was 18-0 before dropping to a Wildcard team in the Superbowl.

You can't fault a man for wanting to move on though, and that is exactly what McDaniels (or is it Daniels?) did. It is every coaches dream to become a head coach in this league. Belicheat needs to quit being such an arrogant asshole, become a better example and quit being such a sore loser.

I fail to see how Cutler is a problem, he did so much last year for a team who pretty much sucked. His receiving core outside of Marshall is filled with a bunch of nobody's. His o line is mediocre at best and his defense was up there with the Lions.

Any team who gets Cutler will improve, not only offensively but as a whole, and Denver will be stupid if they trade him... He is a young kid, let him get his arrogance out of his head now.. Because you can win with him at the helm.

Anyways, The Vikings acquired Sage because he is an upgrade, and he showed potential during last years run with the Texans. He was growing into the starters role quite nicely.

:lmao: I hope when you said he was an upgrade, it wasn't because of "this" run he had with the Texans.

LOL Look at the score and the time left, Brian. Two of the worst things possible, to completely blow a game.. LAWLZenfels did on this drive. A.) He dropped back to pass to begin with, when they should've just ran. It was the Colts, for sakes. B.) Instead of sliding, and continuing the clock to run down.. he LEAPS! :wtf:

So he turns the ball over, with under 4 minutes remaining, and down by two scores. And somehow, the Colts rebound and win.

Anyway, I can't believe Denver signed Dawkins, yes he is one of the best at what he does, but Denver has a lot of holes to fill, like working on both lines, and trying to get younger in the process, now they took on a decent contract when they need a lot of work. Hopefully the acquire some running backs, and work on the lines during the upcoming draft. If not, they'll be in for a long season again.

I don't think Dawkins was a bad pick, and he was signed for 5 years (granted he won't stay that long, being 35 and all) for only 17 million. That's cheap, to me. And he's still a great player. Just because he's old, doesn't mean he's completely useless. And he's a locker room inspiration, is my guess.

I was pissed that Saturday went back to the Colts, but I can't fault his agent for baiting the Colts into signing him for some money.

Saturday likely wouldn't know what to do without Peyton Manning.

Houshmanzadeh is a top notch receiver and his deal in Philly is falling through the roof. Anyway, I don't care where he ends up, as long as it is out of the North.

I bet he ends up in Minnesota or Seattle. :lmao: Both teams need WRs, and both would be willing to offer him a chunk of money to go there.

I have to laugh at all the players who want out of Cleveland. Winslow wanted out, his wish was granted, Rogers wants out, more than likely he'll go elsewhere, Edwards wants out. I hope he goes elsewhere, but Cleveland isn't that dumb. Or are they?

I'm still pissed that Winslow went to Tampa Bay for only a draft pick or some shit. Rogers wants out, but I don't know if they'll let him. And I doubt highly they'll let Edwards go, especially without anything great in return.

Haynesworth deal was pretty risky for a man who was mediocre at best his first couple of years. It should work out as long as he doesn't step on another player. D Hall signed with the skins, good for him, to bad he is overrated, and they over paid for a "decent" CB. No wonder why they haven't done anything in like forever.

Washington spends huge amounts of money every year, and every year they end up in last place. Connection? YES! It's because you can't build a Superbowl team (most of the time) on brand new players, who have to come in and learn to play together and learn a new system.

I think the Chiefs and Patriots made a good move trading Matt Cassel and Mike Vrabel for a 2nd round pick but I'm not sure it's a great move. Tyler Thigpen was coming into his own as the Chiefs quarterback and played really well with an awful defense. The Patriots better hope Brady will be 100% or else they will start off the season like the Colts did. The Chiefs are slowly rebuilding and look to be a solid team in two to three years and the true test will be if Cassel is just a product of the system or a legit talent.

Bye Bye Brodie Croyle.

I'm surprised the Browns let Winslow go so easily. Assuming Quinn will be the starting quarterback he needs a safety net to throw to and that woule be Winslow. Edwards was a major disappointment last year and I hope he can be a reliable target. Winslow is not going into a better situation with Tampa Bay as they are cleaning house right now and need a quarterback (I think they should draft one.)

I can see Houshmanzadeh signing with the Eagles but I believe he will wait to see if McNabb is still committed to Philadelphia. They should also sign a power runningback to compliment Brian Westbrook as he's been injury-prone for the past couple of years.

I don't think Haynesworth signing with the Redskins is a great idea. They wer top 5 in defense already and their real struggles were on offense. They need a good wide receiver to help Campbell and probably an offensive linemen or two. Haynesworth had a great season probably because it was his contract year and who knows since he got his big contract will he play as hard as he did last year.

O goody, you gave me one game. He showed home last year, he was a solid passer and can only get better because of the time he had in Houston.

Blame the offensive coordinator for that. I can guarantee you Sage didnt call that play. It blew up in front of him and he tried making a play. Can't fault him for that. I can blame the defense to an extent by giving up several touchdowns in a matter of minutes. rofl

So he turns the ball over, with under 4 minutes remaining, and down by two scores. And somehow, the Colts rebound and win.
Do the easy thing. Tell the defense to stop them... two quick scores in like 2 minutes. rofl..

It isnt on him though, they need a lot of work, and that secondary is the least of there problems.

he'd probably win another SB w/o Manning if he came to Da Burgh

I bet he ends up in Minnesota or Seattle. :lmao: Both teams need WRs, and both would be willing to offer him a chunk of money to go there.
He'll go to Minny if he wants a shot at winning

Bye Bye Brodie Croyle.

Yeah but that gives them trade bait, they could trade Thigpen, or keep him around. Personally I say keep him around because I believe Cassell benefited from a system, more so than Tom Brady. Keep Thigpen just in case Cassell becomes a one year wonder.

Just got in here not sure where everyone stands..

Rosenfels sucks, bad move for Minnesota.

Cutler has immense potential, so the Vikes or Bucs should be willing to do everything get that done.

I have to think KC has led lap one of the off-season, getting a young, mobile QB into a good offensive mind's hand where he has targets to throw to. This also gives Gonzo a reason to back off his trade request.

As an Eagles fan, I'm pissed Dawk left, but quite frankly I hope he doesn't win. I side with the Eagles in whatever case. I'm an Eagles fan first. Wish him well, but I don't want to see him win a Super Bowl without us. He groomed Quinten Mikell into a Jr. Dawk, who outplayed him last season, so here's to hoping he takes that leadership role back there for him.

And I don't want Housh, just a Mushin Muhammed clone from 2005 F.A.

I'm still pissed that Winslow went to Tampa Bay for only a draft pick or some shit. Rogers wants out, but I don't know if they'll let him. And I doubt highly they'll let Edwards go, especially without anything great in return.

Your pissed you only got a draft pick for Winslow? Dude, we traded Matt Cassel, a good QB, potenial to be great, and 1 of our most important defensive players, Mike Vrabel, together for a 2ND ROUND PICK. Thats a reason to be pissed lol. Hopefully something big is coming, this is not good.

O goody, you gave me one game. He showed home last year, he was a solid passer and can only get better because of the time he had in Houston.

David Carr had a lot of promise too, but you see where that took him. :lmao: LAWLZenfels had a fluke season, at best. Hell, you claim Cassel had a one-hit wonder.. and he succeeded for the most part. Yet you back some laughable back-up in Rosenfels in claiming he's starter material. How the fuck?

Sure he's starter material.. in Detroit. But so is anyone randomly picked from the crowd, in that case.

Rosenfels won't benefit from anything, and I fail to see how this is meant to "push" Jackson. Unless by "pushing" they are roughly saying "Look, we think your shit is as weak as this back-up from Houston. Either put together some wins, or hit the bricks."

Blame the offensive coordinator for that. I can guarantee you Sage didnt call that play. It blew up in front of him and he tried making a play. Can't fault him for that. I can blame the defense to an extent by giving up several touchdowns in a matter of minutes. rofl

Peyton Manning has tore apart even the best of Defenses, to string together comeback victories. I get that "Defense wins Championships", but Offense keeps you in the game.. and the only thing LAWLZenfels was doing, was taking them OUT of the game.

Why'd he try and air-mail it in? No endzone was in sight, and at most he wouldn't have made a difference with the leap. Sliding would've protected his body, the ball, and kept the clock going. Stupid decision, by the guy YOU want leading someone else's franchise.

Yeah but that gives them trade bait, they could trade Thigpen, or keep him around. Personally I say keep him around because I believe Cassell benefited from a system, more so than Tom Brady. Keep Thigpen just in case Cassell becomes a one year wonder.

:lmao: How is it that you have no faith in Matt Cassel being good, yet you put worthless faith in LAWLZenfels and Pigpen? Is it entirely possible that they could've equally had lucky fluke seasons too?

Oh, wait.. in order to have a lucky fluke season.. YOU HAVE TO WIN SOMETHING! Cassel (11-5), Thigpen (1-10), & Rosenfels (In his three seasons with the Texans, Rosenfels went 6-4 as a starter *taken from wiki*)

If anything, Cassel has the best chance of being something great. He under-studied Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, and is now being given the keys to an offense all his own.

Rosenfels has no chance of starting, unless they fall back on him in Minnesota, and Thigpen is trade bait for, at most, a 2nd-3rd round pick.. in which he'll end up in some shithole that'll still under use him.

Just for the record, I'm a Carolina Panther's fan. I'm pissed because Tampa Bay got another weapon.. not because Cleveland lost one. :lmao:

And New England saved over 18 million by trading an aging vet, and an unknown QB. They have Tom Brady, anyways. And barring his injury ending his career.. Brady will be back.. and outside of being able to run, which he never did in the first place, Brady will still be the same outstanding QB he always has been.

Why hold two QB's, when one is as great as Brady? That's like saying you want your roster to hold Steve Smith, Randy Moss & T.O., yet you can only throw to one of them at a time.. and all of them will bitch. It's just not worth it, to have so much talent.. wasted on a bench. Especially when you can get rid of 'said' talent, and get better available options to fix weaker positions.

New England is crafty, smart and always in the Championship hunt. Belichick can literally take over the entire Detroit franchise and they'll be the first team in history to go 0-16, then 16-0.

How the fuck is Matt Cassel automatically a one year wonder? Did you even watch the games? He looked great. He fucking took NE to 10 wins after it's franchise QB went down and everybody wrote them off, with tons of pressure he kept them right in the hunt. It only took him THREE games to let Belichek let him loose, then he went out and put up huge numbers and won games. That shit doesn't happen very often. Hell, I forgot to suck off how good of a playmaker he is with his decision making, and how good of an accurate arm he's got. He's obviously a leader too, to be able to step in and keep that team up.

Do you realize who he's worked with as well? Brady, one of the best QB's ever, Belichek, one of the best coaches in the history of the game. Hell. go back to his college days with Pete Carroll and Matt Leinart (say what you will. but he was a godly college QB). That's a shitload of knowledge he's taken in.

You give me that bullshit on MSN about a "system". Do you not realize the system Haley runs? IT'S NOT REALLY THAT. MUCH. DIFFERENT. and is more of a spread attack. Think before you jump to mindless conclusions. He's stepping into a nice situation (offensively), and has alot of potential. I wouldn't just write him off.

And let's not even forget about the fact that Matt Cassel put up numbers, not even Tom Brady has touched. He didn't fluke fall into that, he actually had to go out and DO IT.

If Cassel is a fluke, then so is Pittsburgh's Superbowl reigns.

In my personal opinion, I think Tyler Thigpen had a great year. I don't know if he could duplicate it, but until Cassel took what I feel is now his team.. I was looking forward to K.C. letting Thigpen loose w/ the reigns. I can't see how Thigpen stays, much less Huard or Croyle. Both of those shit-bags will be dropped or traded, if possible.

Thigpen will be a great back-up. And Cassel should be a future franchise QB. Kansas City fell into a great off-season deal, and all for a 2nd round draft pick. Which means they STILL have a #1 overall sitting in their laps. (to my knowledge) They can continue to add to their Defense, or add another number to their offense.

Crabtree is looking pretty good in an offense that just got a future gun-slinger in Cassel, and Bowe/Crabtree is a dangerous combination to look forward to.

I'm pretty sure Pioli and him both will want to add another playmaker now or in the future. Probably want to at least try to create something similar to Boldin and Fitz. Obviously, it'd take some time before either one got on that level, but Crabtree is an instant step in and produce WR. He'll be good to start with, with the the potential to be great throughout his career and Bowe has looked pretty solid so far, just awaiting that breakout year. Now he's finally got a QB and the right system.

They need help at LB with their new 3-4 D though, so they might go with the oh so overrated Aaron Curry.

it is simple, Cassell played in an offense that is designed to pass, it isn't hard sitting in shotgun 75% of the time and dumping the ball of to your backs or hitting your receivers on quick pass plays. Everytime Cassell went up against a D that was coming for you he looked like shit.

Thigpen played real well in an offense that for the most part is complete shit. His offensive line is complete shit, his defense wasn't that good either and he came into a zone towards the end of the year. If anything Thigpen should be the better starter because of what he had to play with.

Now onto the Texans defense, first you give up an 80 yard scoring drive, then a quick 20 yard scoring drive. The Coaches in Houston put Rosenfels in a bad situation, he sent him to pass knowing several things can come of this. He can either get you a first, or he can screw up. If anything the idiotic coordinators are at fault because you simply do not drop back to pass when you have a "Decent" lead with little time remaining.

Did you even bother reading the last part of my post? Do you seriously even know what you're talking about? Before jumping to conclusions, know your shit. Todd Haley runs a similar type of spread offense NE did (less shotgun, but he said he'd adjust to the talent they have. KC's line is shit.) The isn't airing it out alot isn't going to go anywhere, he'll be doing the same thing in Kansas City. Why else do you think KC went after Cassel so hard and knew he was their guy? He fits well. I'd thought you would know this considering you played Arizona in the Super Bowl but I guess not.

As for your other BS, he had only ONE, ONE game where his play wasn't reasonable. And it was against your all world defense, which is why it's quiet obvious you're just spouting off nonsense based off that one game. Not many QB's played well against Pit's D Brian.

Hail To The Redskins!!! No, not really. I love my team to death, but I think Snyder overpaid for both Haynesworth and Hall. But, with Hall, we'll finally be able to get rid of Shawn Springs. Here's to hoping we hang on to Jason Taylor, as I thought he did quite well last season even with his injuries.

KC's line is coming along. They drafted Branden Albert last year and are in prime position to take another guy at 3 if they felt it was necessary.

But the rest I agree on. He's mobile, and has good accuracy. He fits his playmakers. Look at Bowe, not neccessarily a burner, so hitting him across the middle plays to both Bowe's and Cassel's strengths.

Just for the record, I'm a Carolina Panther's fan. I'm pissed because Tampa Bay got another weapon.. not because Cleveland lost one.

Oh, ok. I was hoping for that Cassell for Peppers rumor. Would have been a long shot, and the shit would of hit the fan, but for at least 1 year, Pats could have had 1 of the best defensive lines ever. Oh well.

Wes, the difference is Cassell stays in the gun while Haley used the gun and he also ran plays under center. Playing in the gun gives you the chance to see the defensive scheme and there blitz if they are blitzing. Besides, Haley won't be calling the plays on the offensive side, he will be hiring a coordinator to do that. Unless he pulls a Weiss and takes over the offense.

Anyways, next question, what should Cincinnati do with Fitzpatrick? I say keep em because of Palmers health issues.

Again, did you even read my post? I just said Haley’s offense is less shotgun, but that he would adjust to the talent KC has. He made this very clear in his opening press conference. This probably means he’ll add more Gun to his O since Cassel is usually at his best there, and the O Line is pretty shit.

He’s also pulling a Weis last I heard on some Chiefs site, he’ll be calling the plays. He’s a play calling genius anyway, so I can’t see why he or anyone would want it any other way. It’s probably best for that team…

BTW, Fitzpatrick is already gone from Cincy, to Buffalo.

Are you really that naive, or did you learn it through time spent training to be dense?

Just because he ran passes out of shotgun, doesn't mean he didn't have to use motor-skills and watch out for pressure, nor did it mean that he could just easily toss to any random individual. He actually had to scan the field, find the open target, then put the ball on them. (ie. Quality QB) Sure, you'd think any random QB could do that. But no, not really.

Cassel deserves a fucking medal. He filled the biggest pair of shoes a back-up could've filled. A.) He replaced Tom Brady, B.) He took over control of a football team that was coming off a fricken 18-1 record. EIGHTEEN, Brian, do you realize the amount of fucking pressure that puts in your mind?! C.) He lead them up against a Dolphins team that got better over the span of a couple months, a Jets team that added a Hall of Fame QB, and a Bills team that tried harder this previous season than they've ever tried since Jim fucking Kelly.

Sure, they came up just short.. but you do realize it was a complete bullshit system, that kept an 11-5 team OUT of the Playoffs, while an 8-8 team fell in, right? Cassel lead them to 11 wins. More than LAWLZenfels, or Pigpen, combined in their entire careers.

Thigpen played real well in an offense that for the most part is complete shit. His offensive line is complete shit, his defense wasn't that good either and he came into a zone towards the end of the year. If anything Thigpen should be the better starter because of what he had to play with.

He won ONE GAME, Brian. ONE GAME. How do you "come into a zone" when you don't even fucking win anything? Is that like the Ken Shamrock school for zoning? :lmao: Did he fucking snap, and get in the zone by losing them those games? lol

And why should Thigpen be pushed ahead of Cassel, just because he had crappier players? If he was truly that great, he'd of made them better players, wouldn't he?

Now onto the Texans defense, first you give up an 80 yard scoring drive, then a quick 20 yard scoring drive. The Coaches in Houston put Rosenfels in a bad situation, he sent him to pass knowing several things can come of this. He can either get you a first, or he can screw up. If anything the idiotic coordinators are at fault because you simply do not drop back to pass when you have a "Decent" lead with little time remaining.

ROFL What the fuck?!

Okay, where to begin with this.. first..

I'm pretty sure the Coaches didn't tell LAWLZenfels through his ear piece to go helicopter himself into 4 fucking defenders, and risk losing the ball. I could just imagine that conversation now.

(Coach)- "Alright Sage, here's the deal. We're winning. That doesn't happen often, so I'm really new to what we should do. If you don't see anyone open, whatever you do.. DON'T SLIDE! Instead, run toward the largest group of Defenders you can find, and try leaping over them. It's so stupid, they'll never see it coming."

(Rosenfels)- "But Coach, I'm pretty sure I can just drop back, scan for Andre, and take off then slide to keep the clock going."

(Coach)- "Who's fucking coaching this team, pussy?! You fucking Helicopter your ass into Defenders, or you're riding the fucking bench, you got me?!"

:lmao: Seriously.. Oh, it's the Coaches fault he acted like a moron and leaped through the air, instead of went to the ground.

DeAngelo Hall is a risky business situation. He signed long term with the team, and has a bad history with his attitude. Hell, I know of one game he flat-out cost Atlanta the game against Carolina, all because he racked up 2-3 penalties for something like 60+ yds, all because Steve Smith was jaw-jackin' with him and he couldn't take it, so he shoved and swung at Smith.

Hall is a decent corner, and here's to hoping his attitude has changed. But I don't know.

Also, Taylor was cut because the two sides couldn't agree on re-doing his contract.

Oh, ok. I was hoping for that Cassell for Peppers rumor. Would have been a long shot, and the shit would of hit the fan, but for at least 1 year, Pats could have had 1 of the best defensive lines ever. Oh well.

New England wouldn't of ever considered Peppers. They don't like signing high-money players, they like bringing in young guys whom they can mold into stars for the lowest possible price.

And Carolina is too stupid to think Delhomme needs replaced. We tried with David Carr, and failed miserably. (albeit, anyone believing that was going to work had to be off their rocker to begin with) I'm personally hoping that next year we land Tim Tebow, or Sam Bradford.

The way things look, this year, we'll repeat with mainly our entire team from last year. Peppers included.

I read an article that said Carolina can't negotiate with other teams for Peppers, because he hasn't signed the Franchise waiver yet. Which means other teams who're interested have to talk to Pepper's agent, then work out a deal with Carolina before anything can become complete.

Furthermore, Pep will only go to 4 teams he said. 2 or 3 Are N.F.C., and Carolina won't allow that to happen. And even if they would, they want two, 1st round picks for him.. and only Detroit and Philly have that. (unless they get a 1st this year, and a 1st next year)

My guess is we'll get stupid and give him away for something like a 1st this year, and a 2nd + a 3rd or 4th next year. I mean, we gave away Kris Jenkins for like a 2nd, 4th & 6th.. what a dumb fucking move that was.

The free agent signings made so far are having a pretty hefty impact on the draft.

I saw the Giants projected by a lot of people to take a Defensive Lineman in the draft, and now they have no need to, after signing Rocky Bernard and Chris Canty to long, expensive contracts.

KC was also talked about concerning Sanchez. Now that they have Cassel, they can go back to drafting a Linebacker or Lineman.

Detroit is almost assured to take Stafford now, as they let Orlovsky get signed elsewhere, and traded Kitna to Dallas.

you know damn well Sage had no control over his offensive play calling. You can't blame him for his coaching staffs blunder. You simply run the ball or call a short pass play, they did neither. They put him in a position that will fail. Yes, jumping was stupid, but he shouldn't have been in that situation to do that.

When you play in the gun it benefits you. You're able to see what the D is going to do before it actually happens. It helps you read the blitz. Something Cassell could hardly do. When teams would blitz he would look lost at times because he had no idea what to do.

Tyler Thigpen put KC in a position to win several games last year, only for Edwards to do something stupid, or have there defense cost them. They lost 8 games last season by 7 points or less. You can't fault him for coming up short when they have a bad defense, and still a mediocre line. Once Thigpen had a grasp of the offense he looked all fine and dandy.

I can't imagine letting Dan Orvolsky go was their way of saying they'd draft a QB. I've thought all along that's what they'd end up doing, but i doubt that had any impact on their upcoming decision.
