NFL Draft 2010

Cards leapfrog here. Good pick. Big fan of Washington. I thought he was a first rounder. Should fit in well with Zona. Not sure if he'll play the OLB or the ILB in their 3-4. Panthers here, could we finally see Clausen or will it be McCoy or will it be someone else, maybe a WR like Golden Tate. Panthers could go anywhere here.

As a former Offensive Lineman, I would disagree. Takes skill to keep a guy off the QB while having him hammer down on you from the second the ball is snapped. Far more one on one than any other position.

:disappointed::banghead:

DIFFERENT skills, yes. No skills, no.

Yes, but a QB has to know EVERY position's responsibilities on every play, has to adjust blocking schemes at the line of scrimmage, and to study and know defenses and recognize the defense the opponent is in. And that's all before the snap. It doesn't include the necessary footwork for the dropback, the handhoff, making throws with a moving target, throwing on the run...and oh yeah, try to avoid the defenders in his face.

The Quarterback is, without a doubt, THE most important position on the field. It's not by accident.

I guess the Cardinals were worried someone else would take him? Why trade up?

Cause I doubt he would have made it. Guy could have been a first rounder and he is a beast of LB. Plus he fills a need and if they didn't think he'd fall you gotta trade up (much like SD trading up for Matthews).

Most important for sure. However, he doesn't require far more skills. More skills yes, but not far more.

There he goes!!!!! Clausen falls into a great situation. I expect him to sit a year behind Moore and then if Moore succeeds they ship him, if he falters Clausen steps in and takes over. He has a great RB tandem to roll with, now they need to get him some WR not named Steve Smith.

I just don't understand when people say stuff about how O-Line requires no skill. That is a load of bullshit. There is a shitload of skill involved.

Oh, and a lot of that stuff you mentioned wasn't skill, that's more about observing and memory.

Wait, didn't we just see Matt Moore post a 4-1 record in 5 starts with a 98.5 passer rating, and put up 8 TDs and 2 INTs?

Poor guy can't catch a break.

I'm glad the Niners won't have him, gives Alex Smith the nod and I love me some Alex Smith and I still think he will succeed. I'm thinking a change of pace back here for SF.
