New Health Care Bill Passed and Other Political Chatter

The government has little to do with it. And poor health habits here and the fact we have more people than Canada and UK combined and then some.

Which also means they have more people to help pay for it.

England make it work? The NHS loses ***Million per year, That has to be made up through taxes.

We don't have people afraid to go to the doctor when they're crying in pain because they wouldn't be able to afford it.

Then use the money for the wars to pay for them. What's worse: losing money or losing lives?

I wish I didn't have to pay for sex op's, Gastric bands, And needless cosmetic op's. I'd sure as hell make sure our troops have the equipment to kick some middle easten arse effectively.

I paid £50 quid for a poppy this year...

Yeah that should be a big part of a national system here: what will the government pay for. I don't want to hear about some fat woman that can't stop eating fast food wanting a ten thousand dollar operation to lose weight. That is your own fault. "Obesity is a disease." that's the stupidiest thing I've ever heard.

What needless cosmetic ops do we pay for really? If I wanted a boob job I wouldn't get it free, I'd have to go private and pay for it myself.

The sex change ops, while you may not understand, greatly increase a persons quality of life. I have no problem with helping someone in this way.

I understand completely with the gastric band, but for the most part it's either that or pay the thousands more when their health problems get so bad they can't live alone, or need constant medical care. And some people DO have a medical condition which causes them to eat a lot without realising they're full.

Cosmetic: no way, period. These are just that: cosmetic. You can live without them.

Sex ops: hard to say. I'd say private here also, because you can live without them.

Obesity: if there's a legit medical condition, fine. However, just eating too much and not eating healthy food isn't legit ever.

Again, I understand this, I hate people like that. But if we don't give them that op, they'll need further treatment for the rest of their life. It would cost us more in the long run. Unless you're suggesting we should just leave them to die because it's technically there fault, the gastric band op could be the best course of action.

So in other words, let them fuck themselves up and then let us pay for their mistakes? I hate to say this, but yeah, let them get themselves out of it.

But I could 'live without' some medications I take, such as to stop migraines. I COULD live without them, but I'm happier I don't have to. Should healthcare be as black and white as life or death?

I don't like this idea because then where do we stop? What about anorexia or bullemia? They could really just eat, it's their fault they're not, so should we not help treat them?

As in physical vs. mental? Yeah I'd say so. Someone dying from cancer is going to take precedent over someone being uncomfortable with themself.

Treatment is one thing. An operation is another. If they're given something like being told how to live a healthy life, then I'd be fine with that. I'm seeing a big difference between eating too much and eating too little.

Seeing how difficult this can be? Imagine getting 3000000 people to agree on this. It's never going to pass, but because of it more rich people stay rich while poor people die, so it all balances out.

I meant unnessercary time wasting in general. There are always exceptions to everything.

Do you want to know the biggest cause of obesity? GREED, Most of these fat fuckers stuff themselfs until they can't eat another thing, That makes there stomach expand so they need more food to get the same feeling. They think if they aren't completely full, They haven't had enough snap. If they wanted a better standard of living they should stop going filling there fucking faces, And go for a run. Hell I did! At the age of 17 I was nearly fucking 20 stones due to fucking laziness, And greed. I didn't take the easy way out, I worked my arse off got on a diet and excercised hell of a lot more. Now i'm fucking ripped.

The NHS would run alot smoother if it weren't it preform expensive proceeders that weren't needed. If someone wanted a sex op, Why couldn't they pay for it themself? I know a girl that abused the system to get a fucking boob job. SHE WAS 16! She pretended to be depressed, She had the nerve to tell people as much.

Well yeah it's true that ideally people who have knowingly caused their condition shouldn't be helped as easily as others but it's not that simple. With something like obesity, you can leave people alone to sort it out themselves and justify it by saying you're saving public money but in the long run, it rarely works out as cheaper because of all the other health problems that come along with being overweight. 10k for a gastric band op or however much it'd cost for 20 years of insulin, hospital stays etc.
