The new healthcare bill that was just passed has a provision that says insurance companies can not deny people insurance because of pre-existing conditions. It also says insurance companies cannot drop people when they get sick.

Those two things alone would save who knows how many lives.

The new healthcare bill if passed by the senate and signed in to law doesn't take effect until 2013. If this was needed so urgently why does it take 3 years to take effect?

You don't get free healthcare until 2013, but you can start paying for it now. Taxes are going to go up immediately.

It is affordable. I pay $80 a month and if that bill passes the Senate, which thankfully it won't, my rate will go up because dumbass democrats think taxing the insurance companies is how to raise the revenue for this bullshit plan.

There are so many things the govt could do to insure the 30million people who don't have insurance. Tort reform--not in the bill, allow insurance companies to sell in all 50 states--NOT in the bill and how about not making men pay for insurance coverage for pregnancy, I don't know about you but I don't think I can get pregnant.

We simply can't afford national healthcare, and if Obama is this determined to be a one term President, whatever, but this government needs to stop printing money to pay for entitlements for people who choose not to work.

Okay so he's slightly below the landslide popularity he had last year. If put to election right now, anyone who thinks Obama wouldn't win is just being foolish. And I don't think Bobby Jindal is going to give Obama much of a run for his money come 2012.
