Money In The Bank 2014 General Discussion & Aftermath

The Usos vs Wyatt Family: great opener, all four men delivered. I was surprised by seeing the Usos retaining, but I think is a good thing. They are growing a lot, and they should continue doing that.

Paige vs Naomi: I don't know why you guys disliked. I think it was actually pretty good? WWE has been lazy with the way they book Paige, without any storyline or letting her speak, but there was at least some back storyline in this match. I liked the aggressive spots and the running top rope crossbody by Naomi was really cool. I want a match 2 for these girls, with more build up.

Adam Rose vs D Sandow
What the hell was it? Worst match of the night for me. Really hate what they are doing to Sandow. And to think he was winning the ladder match last year at the same PPV...

Money In The Bank - Briefcase match
Best match of the night IMO. ALL the participants looked like stars. For one moment I was rooting for Kofi to get it, for most illogical it can be. Really liked all the crazy spots, and Seth took a lot of them. I thought they would go with Ziggler on this, since Seth or Dean would be too obvious, but I don't complain about the result at all. Great great match.

Dusts v. Rybaxel
I think it was an ok match. I liked everything Cody did, and how he embraced this new character, adding tons of details to his moveset. But the match didn't get me excited at all, it was just.. ok

Big E. V. Rusev:
I usually don't like big men matches, but I liked this one. They are both very fast for their size, and the spots were good. The spear looked even better this time. Lana and Rusev are growing on me.

Layla v. Summer Rae
The only match with a shocking outcome. I was 100% sure that Summer would win. It was not a technical masterpiece, but I think it was good for what it was. No botches or strange things happening. I do think both girls could wrestle better than this.

Championship Ladder Match.
I am not invested in any of the guys, but I really liked the match. Great spots again, with all guys delivering. I like how Del Rio was the only guy to actually get real heel heat when attacking. I'm not a fan of this "cool heel" style. Cena winning was kinda obvious, but I think it was the best choice right now.

Overall, very good pay-per-view.
My final match ranking would be:
1. Money In The Bank - Briefcase match
2. Money In The Bank - Championship match
3. Tag Team Championship Match
4. Divas Championship Match
5. Big E vs Rusev
6. Dusts vs Rybaxel
7. Summer Rae vs Layla
8. Adam Rose vs Sandow

Let's see what happens in the next one!

I thought Big E and Rusev was good and Rusev is really going somewhere. Not sure what more either guy could have done in that match.

Usos winning was the right call as Jim Ross pointed out it would be kind of strange for the Wyatt Family if the two lesser members of the group had gold and Bray didn't

Usos vs Wyatts was great it told the story it needed to and had the result it needed also. Action was very good the Usos are a great watch and a team you can definitely build the division back around. If Wyatts win as I said before then it looks weird for the two lesser guys to have a belt and the top guy not to be carrying gold. Also, no other teams right now are built to feud for the titles so have the Wyatts win at maybe Battleground and the rubber match at Summerslam gives you time to develop new teams. 4/5

Paige vs Naomi was what it was I am not a fan of the divas division so I won't comment much on it.

Rose vs Sandow: Didn't like it matches added like this feel very made for TV. Kind of makes you feel as if you're not watching a PPV and more like a Sunday Night Raw. If you want this on the show fine but make it feel more important leading up don't just use it as a throw in. 1/5

MITB briefcase match: Fantastic match with the result that was needed. Everyone looked good and had their moments. An ending that accomplishes the needed goal and furthers along the program of Ambrose and Rollins in the process. Ziggler looked good Kofi had his moment just very well done all the way around 4/5

Stardust vs Rybaxel: Good for what it was and really showcasing Cody can make chicken soup out of chicken shit. The build for the Goldust vs Cody match is going to be great when it happens. A match more about furthering along a storyline then a real big impact on the card. 2.5/5

Big E vs Rusev: Great match for big men and really helped enhance Rusev who I think is really starting to turn into something. Had some good spots and interesting throughout one of the highlights of the night for me. 3.5/5

Layla vs Summer: Just did nothing for me 0.5/5 Not a ppv level match.

Championship Ladder Match: A bit slow starting out, I kind of think they could have balanced the talent a bit better between the two matches. Ziggler would have fit here better than Del Rio, also maybe RVD instead of Shameus. We knew none of those four were going to win, so I think putting a few guys who excel in these types of matches in the championship match and the MITB match makes for a better quality.

The last five minutes were really well done. Reigns had another great moment. Wyatt even had a few spots in there. Orton hit one of the sickest RKO's Ive ever seen him hit. Looked even better than the similar one he hit last year. The predictable but boring right result was achieved. Given where we are at storyline wise that is how it had to be. 3/5

Overall considering the names missing and how much of the talent were in the two ladder matches I thought it was a pretty good card. Some of the midcard was weak and a little boring but given how many competitors each ladder match had that was basically a given going in.

3.7/5

Very solid show. Every match I felt was entertaining. Even the Fandango/Ladies match. Fandango amuses me with his mannerisms though and I kept hoping the ladies would make out and leave Fandango together. O well.

Things that stood out:

Ambrose getting possibly the pop of the night.
Rusev/Langston being brutal
Cody Rhodes is a magician, can get any gimmick over.

MITB could of been a great show if Bryan wouldn't of gotten injured and didn't have to vacate the title, I would of re-done the whole card near enough because I wished that Bryan would of been active so my card is:

Pre-Show
Damien Sandow Vs Adam Rose
Singles Match. Move this to the pre-show instead with Sandow going over.

Main Show
1) The USO (C) Vs The Wyatt Family
Tag Team Titles Match. Stays the same.

2) Paige (c) Vs Naomi
Diva's Title Match. Stays the same.

3) Sheamus (C) Vs Titus O'Neal
United States Title Match. These two had a few matches on smackdown and raw before hand so I think they would of had a decent match on the ppv.

4) Rusev Vs Big. E
Singles Match. Stays the same.

5) Bad News Barrett (C) Vs Dolph Ziggler Vs Kofi Kingston Vs Jack Swagger
Fatal 4 Way Intercontinetal Title Match. Could be a great way for te unused guys to get on the card and have Barrett go over and retain the title to help build his character.

6) Rybaxle Vs The Dust Brothers
Number 1 Contenders Match. Could be a great match with the dust brothers going over

7) John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt Vs Cesaro Vs Roman Reigns Vs Seth Rollins Vs Dean Ambrose Vs Randy Orton
Money in The Bank Ladder Match. I've changed this to one match where the winner receives a future title shot at the wwe title, Rollins will go over as the winner and it would be a great match.

8) Daniel Bryan (C) Kane
Wwe World Heavyweight Title Stretcher Match. I heard this match was supposed to take place so I would have it as the main event, it may not be the show stealer but it helps build DB up and I'd have him go up against Lesner at summerslam.
