MLB 2013 Postseason LD

No, they constantly mention "they haven't seen a Sox victory in Fenway Park in the World Series since 1918".

My heart bleeds for them, truly it does.

Oh, yeah, that part didn't do anything for me. Just a case of the media loving storylines.

I think more so they're saying its a feel good story because of the marathon bombings earlier this year.

That's how I take it. I'd be more grudging if it weren't for that and the fact that the Sox did this when practically no one believed that they'd even have a winning record this year. So, given the circumstances good for them.

Make no mistake though, the O's take what we want, and after we take the Rays and the Yankees, we want the gold sucka! Red Sox, we comin' for you, n*gga!

I think it's funny how many bandwagon fans are out there. It happens every year in every sport.

What's even funnier is how the supposed fans were chanting Lackey's name but booing him during the season.

Also how on the Cardinals Facebook page so many supposed Cardinals fans are calling for a new manager, new coaches, new pitchers and better offensive players. You'd think they finished last in the MLB with the way some people are bitching.

Congrats on your team winning Rated R. They were the better team in the series.

Does anyone think it's utterly ridiculous how the media is trying to spin this as a feel good story for Boston fans?

I guess it's true Boston sports fans just haven't had much to celebrate over the last ten to 15 years. Besides those World Series victories...and the Patriot Superbowl championships...and the Bruins Stanley Cup victory...and the Celtics NBA Championship.

But besides that, those Boston sports fans have just had nothing to cheer for.

Honestly it gets old after a while. Boston fans talk about how they're cursed like they're Cleveland and it couldn't be a bigger crock of shit. They're basically New York 2.0, only their fans come off even more pretentious. At least most NY fans accept the bandwagoner label. A good amount of Boston fans like to say they were there from the beginning which isn't further from the truth.

Yes I'm still bitter over the ALCS. That doesn't change the fact that Boston is making a fast run at NYC for awful sports fans.

Bandwagon fans drive me nuts. I've been a loyal Redsox fan since I was a little kid and that'll never change. Not sure how many bandwagon fans shell out the money for World Series tickets though.

You should know to never take the fans seriously who bitch on the teams facebook page though. Cardinals played great throughout and have a damn good manager and one of the strongest rotations in all of baseball IMO.

Thanks for the congrats sir. Always nice seeing people be a good sport.

Also Megatron I think if you guys had a stronger bullpen and a healthy Cabera, things may have turned out differently in the ALCS.

It got old a long time ago. It was old when the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004, it's old when we hear about the "poor" Chicago Cubs fan, it's old when cities who win championships all the time talk about how awful they have it.

Meh, it's never right to judge an entire group of people by the actions of a few. But that stuff is just stupid.

Oh, come now, Sly, it isn't as though I said Boston is filled with self important gasbags and entitled college kids who will leap at the chance to abandon their dignity and restraint, so long as they can celebrate woo, first time in 95 yearz BOSTON STRONG BOSTON STRONG BOSTON STRONG!

.... No, sir, that would be judging an entire group from the actions of a few. And by the way, far be it for me to be the cyclical one, but am I the only one who hates how commercialized the Boston Strong slogan's become?

The satire is strong within this post.

Going from a strictly baseball stand point and forgetting about other sports, it was one of the biggest championship wins in history when the Redsox won in 04 after 86 years. Just like when the Cubs get a World Series win whenever it happens it'll be big for them because I believe it'll be the first one in team history and look how long they've been in the league.

But life doesn't exist in a vacuum. I seriously doubt most Red Sox fans are not also fans of the various other sports teams in Boston. It's hard to buy a sob story like the media wanted to make people believe it was/is.

I can accept fans reacting that way in 2004 as the Sox are a bigger deal than the Patriots. This one though, not so much.

I agree some people are overreacting about this World Series win. I mean yes I thought it was awesome but I'll think that anytime they win the series. It was nice winning one at home for the first time in 95 years but it wasn't as huge as 04. Bigger than 07 was though.

I have no problem with a celebration of winning a title. It just get a bit silly hearing people act like they'e never seen this. I remember back in 04 these college kids were so happy because they had waited their whole lives to see this. Yeah they had, but that's something there should be like a 40 years old threshold to be allowed to say.
