*Merged* The Miz Is The New WWE Champion.

i am very pleased with this result. it was totally unexpected, nobody expected the Miz to cash in when he did and who to be honest a year ago thought the Miz would be a world champion. I didn't really like the miz at first but over the last couple of years he has grown on me and is now my favourite wwe wrestler.

And even when he cashed it in we all still on the edges of our seats as Randy put up a great fight but in the end the Miz hit the skull crushing finale and we have an AWESOME wwe champion

and until the next time THE ERA OF AWESOME IS UPON US. THE MIZ IS YOUR WWE CHAMPION.

I love the Miz being champion, but the one thing that has been in the back of mind is how long? It seems every year around the Road to Wrestlemania, WWE becomes predictable and goes the safe route...last year Sheamus became champion in what was probably more shocking than Miz becoming champion because Miz at least had the MITB which means it wouldve been cashed in soon enough anyways....could this mean WWE will take a chance on Mania and produce something different? or will they rush Triple H back and win the rumble and put Cena and Orton in the main event? (yea I know Orton and HHH werent in the main event last year but you know what I mean)

Miz is the darling of the WWE right now. Apparently Vince loves the way the former reality star has approached his wrestling career, and with that, and his charisma and mic skills, I could see him holding it for awhile.

Being a fan of Sheamus, I was really disappointed with the way he was booked as champion. Rarely getting a clean win over a top level superstar.

I do not particularly like Miz, but he is very charismatic and I enjoy his mic work so I am hoping they book him as a legitimate champion and not the type that has to cheat to win or always take shortcuts the way they did Sheamus.

Again, I do not particularly care for Miz, but when he cashed in the briefcase, I totally marked out. I cannot say I was completely shocked that something big happened because the main event ended around the 11 pm mark which left 5 minutes and I expected something big to happen, but not that. Kudos to WWE for shocking (which hasn't happened in awhile) this 20+ year fan.

If WWE does a good job at using him and making him seem like a decent champion, I can see him holding it to Elimination Chamber. But any futher than Febuary, I would disagree. The Miz is not going to Wrestlemania as the WWE Champion. Sheamus didn't go to Wrestlemania as champion simply because he wasn't ready or even known enough to headline the biggest show of the year. Sheamus, in my opinion, got over huge with his match with Triple H at 'Mania. That's what the Miz needs. A match that will officially hand him the torch. A match with a vertern like Randy Orton, Triple H, or someone in the upper card. The Miz will probably make a great champion but I don't see it as a long, huge-deal, kind of reign.

I understand that WWE has this whole youth movement going on,but I just don't buy Miz as a champion. He doesn't look as battle hardened and stalwart as previous champions. I can't see him in an Iron Man Match, HIAC, Last Man Standing etc. He seems to soft for all that. Will it really be an entertaining title reign if he isn't able to properly sell himself as being as battle tested as champions before him?

I always thought it was Sheamus who was leading the youth movement actually even when he wasn't champion. But to answer your question, I think you're jumping to conclusions a bit too quickly. I mean, he did just win the title last week. It's honestly too early to judge his title reign. Of course I do understand where you're coming from. To me, he won the title too early. I would've liked for him to be built up more but what's done is done. If what you say is true though, I don't see Miz holding the title all the way until Wrestlemania if even Royal Rumble.

I liked Miz where he was. The Upper Mid Card. He doesn't seem to me like a main eventer, because he doesn't seems like he can do much of the rough stuff, but It's still nice to see him go from Real World to Top of the World(of wrestling). Maybe it's just a gift from creative, ionno.

I too feel that Miz is a little soft, but looking forward you have TLC PPV which I feel will end up being a ladder match whihc Miz has proven he can win (MITB) Then at the Rumble he could fight in a singles match which he is good at. At Elimination Chamber he could lose it or win it, this being his first official dangerous gimmick match and then goes on to another singles match at Mania.

Also I feel that Sheamus is running the youth not Miz as Miz has been around for a bit

The same thing happened to HBK during his first Title reign nobody thought he was battle tested the only thing he had ever done that was extreme before he first won the WWF Title was the ladder match at WM10 now i'm not comparing Miz to HBK in any way just pointing out the similarities but just give Miz time I really believe he'll be a good champion maybe not his first time (somewat like Sheamus) their just letting him get his feet wet so dont expect this reign to be great just he'll hold the title 2 Royal Rumble or EC and then drop it probly 2 Randy Orton.

But about the youth movement I'd hav 2 say Sheamus is leading it i mean he was the first member of this youth movement 2 win a world title

Way to fuck up WWE. Way to fuck up.

A few questions. When's the last time The Miz had a great match. When's the last time The Miz cut an outstanding promo. When's the last time The Miz had a memorable and productive Title Run. When's the last time The Miz drew high quarter hour ratings. When's the last time he drew anything. When, when, when.

You give THE belt in your company to ... The Miz. You go from having guys like HBK, Rock, Austin, Undertaker, Orton, Cena having the belt to ... The Miz.

If there's any person on these forums that thinks that this is anything more than WWE shoving that guy down our throats -- you're officially a moron. It's how WWE works. It's what they do. They put the belt on him and FORCE you to like him. FORCE you to consider him a threat. A 190 pound threat or whatever he is. The Miz. A threat. Give me a fucking break. How am I supposed to believe that this dummy can take down the likes of Orton and Cena, when just two-three weeks ago he got beat, cleanly, by Daniel Bryan. He tapped out. Twice. In a row. A few months ago this same guy was getting his ass handed to him by Cena. Not to mention that The Miz has NEVER won a high profile match. He has never beaten anybody. And now I'm supposed to believe that this is RAW's top guy? That this is a man that can beat a lot of ass? How? Does the belt give him magical abilities?

Hint: If you plan on giving the belt to somebody, make sure you push him correctly first and make him seem credible. Otherwise the only thing you can rely on is the blind loyalty of your fans. Thank God they're morons, otherwise we'd have a wrestling riot.

The Miz is mediocre. He doesn't belong anywhere near a Main Event. He didn't do squat with the US Title, what the FUCK makes you think he'll do ANYTHING with the WWE? You take the belt off of your most talented guy, off of your best wrestler, a guy that's over like a motherfucker, a guy that has proven that he can wrestle and talk better than anyone in WWE, a guy that can draw and put asses in seats, a successfull WWE superstar and you give it to ... The Miz.

Way to go WWE. Way to fucking go. Pity that this same RAW was so good that I actually decided to watch it next week too .. but alas ...

I know I am a little late to the party and I don't post much here but I wanted to give my thoughts on the Miz becoming champ.

For the first time since HBK retired the WWE is actually watchable! They finally got away from bowing down to John Cena and put the title on someone deserving! Now don't get me wrong, when Miz first came in I hated him as the host of the Diva contest. I thought he had no talent on the mic and hated him worse in the ring.

Since then he truely has transformed himself into being one of if not the best in the ring of anyone currently in the WWE. This is from someone who's main purpose of watching wrestling is in ring action. I like promo's but they will always be secondary to ability in the ring. It was that very reason I couldn't stand Cena, or Hogan. They always did the same thing and never got better. Not since a young HBK have I been this impressed with the continued progress of a wrestler in the ring.

Then there is the Miz's promo ability. He by far is the best heel in the bussiness on the mic BAR NONE. The only current wrestler who can even touch him on the stick is Cena.

So I applaud the WWE for finally giving me a reason to watch Raw live tonight. It's been 8 months since I last watched RAW live (I usually skim over the results in disgust), and ever since the 4 hoursemen and the nWo joined forces over on WCW part 2......errrr........TNA it's been brutal. FINALLY a reason to watch wrestling again!

And last but certainly not least even if I still hated the Miz it was worth it to watch the pain and sadness in all the little Cena fans in the audience. If they didn't support Cena and buy his crap as much as they do there is no way he would still be on top in the WWE, so to finally see a rising star like the Miz get the belt and see those same fans all mad was AWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could not take this post seriously at all, you call Miz the best HEEL on the stick and best person on the stick next to Cena? Have you heard of Mr.CM Punk? and when he was in the WWE have you heard of Chris Jericho? I understand you're a Miz Mark but so am I and that was just ridiculous. Miz is decent in the ring and above average on the microphone, I like him but to say he is the best heel in the WWE/best on the stick is beyond idiotic.

Take that post completely serious. Last time I checked Jericho is not in the WWE at this moment in time. When he returns he and the Miz will be right up there on the same level in promos.

I really respect CM Punk's in ring ability but he can't touch Miz on the mic. He has always been boring. I might be a mark for him but Miz has earned it and is the only reason I am watching wrestling at this moment. Punk, and even Y2J couldn't keep my interest after HBK retired.

Okay I'm just gonna propose a way to make Miz eventually look credible as a champion.

So everyone has these questions about how can we expect Miz to beat guys like Orton, HHH, Sheamus, Cena, or someone else. Well my theory is based on the fact that we can't.

The Miz is going to need to use this reign as a way to mature and grow into himself as a credible Main Eventer. Here's how it would work. The Miz at the moment can barely beat Morrison in a believable manner. So here's how it would break down. He will start off as the Miz we know now, looking to cheat to win. So his first PPV defense will be him cheating as a first resort. Clearly unable to hang with his opponent without the ability of weapons or his buddy Alex Riley. TLC lends itself to this perfectly as there are really no rules. So at the Rumble it should be his third defense. In this defense he's gonna have to cheat to win but not as his first resort. He is waiting for that perfect moment for Alex Riley to come in, or a well timed Skull Crushing Finale on the belt (btw I think that his finisher should be called the Mizstep but that's another story). He still cheated but he went into the match and held his own till the point he planned to cheat. In this scenario it shows that he can hang until the point of his chosing. Now in his fourth defense he goes into the Elimination Chamber and hangs in there. He keeps it going, he gets an elimination clean. Then it starts to get too much. So it gets down to the final two Miz and whoever else, he tries and tries but he can't get that 3 count. Which is when a pipe, or sledgehammer or chair or whathaveyou helps him win the match. He clearly was able to hang but needed that little bit to get over the edge. Then at Wrestlemania he wins the match clean. He bans Riley from ringside and eventually he gets that clean win that has so eluded him (and Sheamus).

Now we have Miz winning clean and having a progression to getting to that clear ME wrestler, and he's that heel that wins clean and everybody hates because he doesn't need to cheat to win.

I know it's long but what are your thoughts?

10-22-2000 Kurt Angle defeats The Rock for the WWF World Title
12-13-2009 Sheamus defeats John Cena for the WWE Title
11-22-2010 The Miz defeats Randy Orton for the WWE Title

2-25 2001 The Rock defeats Kurt Angle for the WWF World Title
2-21-2010 Cena wins the WWE Title from Sheamus in the Elimination Chamber
XX-XX-XXXX ------ wins the WWE Title from The Miz???

Both Kurt Angle and Sheamus were new stars that won their first World Title in the 1st year of their WWE career. But neither one was allowed to carry the belt into the biggest show of the year.

My question is do you think the WWE has enough faith in The Miz to let him main event WM? And if so does he get the win?

Personally i'd love the see Miz beat Orton/Barrett at TLC, Either Morrison or Bryan (Haven't seen a World Champ vs US champ match in ages) at The Rumble, Win the Chamber by the skin of his teeth and go over HHH at WM although i feel HHH won't let Miz go over him much like he did with Jericho at WM19.

Thoughts???

I think Miz will do just fine as WWE Champion and it's annoying when people like Kevin Nash show little respect for young guys like The Miz taking centre stage. Nash calls Miz as champion 'exposing the business' but I call it a brave move on WWE's part, for actually having the balls to put their main belt on an upstart like Miz in order to create another genuine 'player' for the future.

Now, I'm not the biggest ''Mizfit'' but at the same time I do think he has the skills necessary to be a main event player, he can talk on the mic (and no, it's not just cheap heat he draws....his first promo as WWE Champion didn't involve talking trash on the local football team or whatever...besides in my book cheap heat is much better than NO heat) and his in ring ability has vastly improved since we first saw him, there's no doubt about it, he has the ability to put on a decent WWE match and that's all that matters ultimately, so long as you have a strong personality which Miz has.

I'm not sure if he's the most deserving but he's certainly been built up recently, going from a tag champion to the US Title and finally the WWE Title....it's not like Sheamus, who just burst on to the Raw scene and was made champion seemingly out of nowhere, at least Miz has evolved to the point where he is capable of carrying the belt, I think. Is he a Rock, Austin, Michaels? No, but he's the best you can hope for from the current crop of next generation wrestlers currently on display. So I say, good for Miz, I hope he goes on to prove doubters like Nash and others wrong.

In many ways this is an exciting transitional period in WWE and we are quite literally seeing tomorrow's headliners grow and evolve right now...
