*MERGED* Mistico (Sin Cara) Discussion

Does Sin Cara will succeed in the WWE?

  • Yes ! I really want to see him

  • No ! Rey Mysterio is bad enough

  • I have to see him first!

The fact Vince paid money to get him speaks volumes, Sin Cara is clearly the replacement for Rey, but more than that he is a genuine draw, Vince will pull out all the stops to make sure he gets over.

I've only seen a few of his matches as Mistico but he's very athletic, the first task will be struturing his popponents over his first year, making sure he is booked with guys that can help him showcase his most exciting offense.

I'd hold off on a match with Rey until Wrestlemania 28.

Mistico is too popular with Mexican fans for WWE to waste this opportunity with him. They have seen how much money Rey Mysterio makes the company, and he is just a pale imitation of how good he used to be. His career is coming to an end so WWE need the next Mexican mega-star to come along.

And along with Alberto Del Rio, Sin Cara can be that star.

He wears the mask like Rey, he flys around the ring like Rey, and he can adapt his style like Del Rio....he has all the tools and if they provide him with a mouthpiece while he learns to speak English, then I see bright things for Sin Cara.

Well he hasn't debuted with WWE yet but I'm going to say that because WWE set up a press conference to announce this then it shows that WWE is very serious about having Sin Cara as a serious player on which ever brand he ends up on.

WWE doesn't have press conferences for just any signing, hell, they didn't have a press conference for Awesome Kong and parden then pun, she'd be awesome for the women's division.

I think that before Rey Mysterio retires, Rey should have a series of matches with him so that he can pass the whole lucha libre torch to him and leave putting him over signifying that we're in for a new era with a new lucha libre star. But yes, I think he will be succeed.

The fact that the WWE is bringing him up tot he main roster without putting him through FCW seems to indicate that they don't want to change very much of anything about the guy. Mistico is a huge star in Mexico and the WWE wants to capitalize on the qualities that makes him such a big star there.

As far as the WWE "changing" everything about the guy, it's not like they have much of a choice when it comes to his attire and name. CMLL is retaining the rights to Mistico's name and look, WWE had to come up with something similar so that fans of Mistico will still know who he is. As far as his new look goes, I've got no problem with it really. Bright, colorful, eyecatching, etc.

It'll be interesting to see where they go with him.

I cannot wait for Sin Cara's debut. He's extremely talented. I feel he shouldn't debut yet; possibly after Mania.

Let him have a manager, Rosa Mendes?? A mouth piece.

1st Smackdown after Mania. Rey comes out praising the fans and the rubbish talk about his match with Rhodes at Mania. BOOM! Sin Cara comes out. Sin Cara tells he is Reys biggest fan blah blah blah basically kisses Rey's ass. They form an alliance. They form a tag team and win the titles. They hold it until Night of Champions where Sin Cara betrays Rey.

Sin Cara turns heel and says he is better and more talented tahn Rey. He is a better masked wrestler. They have a fued for a while. And let Sin Cara come out on top. After the match they shake hands and Sin Cara becomes face again.

From there I think he should fued with people like Ziggler, Rhodes or Barrett (only if Barrett is singles star).

Sin Cara is a great talent and I hope he domites WWE for years to come.

Superb wrestler. Huge draw. I think he'll be fine. Well, possibly.

The fact the the name "Mistico" is gone kind of sucks. But it was out of WWE's hands. CMLL own the name and the mask design. It's a shame but Sin Cara is an awesome sounding name made more awesome by the fact the it means "faceless". As for his attire, you never know, he may change the colour every so often. The all-white worked for him but I'm sure we'll get used to it.

I could definitely see him in the Rey Mysterio mould. But - and I can't stress this enough so I'm going to write in capitals - HE NEEDS TO SPEAK ENGLISH! It's going to be incredibly difficult for him to get over if he doesn't. Couple a mask with no holes with communicating through a translator and you have someone who may not get over. The connection that the WWE Universe feels towards him may not be there.

It would appear that he is going straight to WWE and not stopping off at FCW, which can only be a good thing. I'm excited for debuts all the time, but this one is going to be special.

WWE is having him learn english and his new mask looks awesome. they should just get him a manager like Vickie or chavo or he could be good friends with Rey. I can't wait until his debut because its going to be awesome.

He has a very solid chance considering this build up. He's going to give them a reason to go to Mexico, along with Rey (for however long he lasts), Del Rio and just American wrestling in general.

He's also got the goods. A great worker who has the ability to sell, while giving you the spots. A rare mix for SOME lucha libre smaller guys.

If he can master the language even half as well as Del Rio has, he should be good to go.

I don't really have much to say about this topic, but one thing I will say is this. I for one do not want to see him an Rey Mysterio feud in all honesty.

I think they should do a mentor/protege until Mysterio leaves the company, that way he basically succeeds Mysterio, and they keep Mysterio's buyrates in Mistico.

Sin Cara will not be the next Rey Mysterio. He will surpass Rey Mysterio. Sin Cara will likely debut right before Wrestlemania, or the Smackdown/Raw right after it. Sin Cara will be a face. He'd be a good heel, but it'd be much better if he starts out as a face at the start of his career. Why? He is huge in Mexico. He is the John Cena of Lucha Libre. Hell, he is bigger than Cena could ever hope to be. The best way to debut Sin Cara would definitely be with Alberto del Rio. A feud between two of the biggest Lucha Libre's right after Wrestlemania would be a great way to kick off the new season. If Alberto del Rio wins the World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 27, it would be a great feud to both solidify Alberto's title reign and his in-ring performance. So long as something doesn't happen, both Alberto del Rio and Sin Cara will be Champions and future Main Eventers. If Sin Cara can learn english, he's got bright future in the WWE and will be a multiple time World Champ. I can see these two being the 'Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage' of the present. With the amount of money Vince paid to get him, Vince will turn him into the future of WWE. Mark my words: By Wrestlemania 28, Sin Cara will be a current or former World Champion.

He most definitely will succeed. The guy is fantastic in the ring. He may not speak English, but that will come in time, and he can get a manager to help him out, but his in ring work will just overshadow the fact he can't speak the language.

He will be marketable, once Rey moves over in a few years, there'll be a gap in WWE's market for a new masked superstar, and his mask (which is awesome) will sell like hotcakes. He’ll become popular really quickly. Nothing gets a crowd cheering quickly like a good high flying move/match. Hopefully he'll start a program with Rey in the future. Say Rey can't keep up with him, say Rey's depleted recently, I say that he can still go pretty good, when you consider how toned down high flying wrestling was told to be in recent years. The last time Rey was really allowed go, was against Morrison in 2009, and he was amazing, and in some matches since, he’s been allowed break out some incredible stuff. So Rey would hopefully be given lee way with Sin Cara as Cara is an experienced high flyer, and they'd have some awesome matches, and there are so many other guys out there to feud with, Bourne, Ziggler, Del Rio and more. I can't wait for this debut, and I really hope WWE will let him do his stuff, and not limit his moves in a big way.

yeah i think the only reason he was signed was to replace mysterios position. i think he can do more than mysterio though and is more athletic. i think he can go far if the fans get behind him.

With Sin Cara (Faceless) officially signed with the WWE and talk about how Sin Cara is skipping FCW to debut soon on the WWE Roster shows that WWE has a lot in store for Sin Cara. He doesn't know English, which would hurt him, but WWE would be stupid not to get a tutor to teach him. Anyway, the point of this thread is to discuss how you would debut Sin Cara. If I had the power to decide how to debut him, this is how I'd do it.

For a few weeks before Sin Cara's debut, show clips of Sin Cara's signing and his matches. Get the fans familiar with who Sin Cara is. Let's face it, a casual fan doesn't know much, or anything at all, about Sin Cara and his past as Mistico. When it finally comes to debut night, I'd debut Sin Cara on Smackdown right after Wrestlemania 27. I'd have him come out and talk about how he finally came to the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, the WWE and how he promises to make an impact in the very near future. At this point, I'd have Alberto del Rio, the new World Heavyweight Champion, come out to welcome the fellow luchador (sp) to the WWE. Have the two Mexican stars give a promo and start a feud with them. Have Sin Cara cost Alberto del Rio the World Heavyweight Championship sometime around Extreme Rules and build a program with them until Summer Slam. Give him a shot or two at the World Heavyweight Championship, but come up short. Give Sin Cara a win at the Royal Rumble and have a feud between him and Alberto del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship to close the feud. I don't intend to have Sin Cara feud with Alberto del Rio the entire year. Have Sin Cara feud with Rhodes, Drew, and maybe Kane in between.

How would you debut Sin Cara? For those who haven't seen him wrestle, here is a clip I found.

Personally, I would have him and Rey Mysterio team together on his debut match and depending how people reacted to that team then they could team together until shortly before Rey Mysterio leaves if what we read is to be believed. They could even win the Tag Team Championships from whoever would have them at the time.

I believe that the association with tagging with Rey Mysterio from the get go could be a great thing for him and allowing Rey to pass the 'lucha libre' torch to him, getting him over with the fans and they could run a program where Rey is sort of a WWE mentor to him, helping him get used to WWE.

I would have him do something with Mysterio though.

Have Rey put him over for weeks before he officially debuts. Like really put him over. Talk about this guy being his successor, someone he thinks can show the honor of lucha libre to the Americans fans, etc... Add to that videos hyping him as well as matches he's had if they can get an agreement with CMLL for that.

Then have him debut in a tag-team match with Rey against who's ever holding the tag-titles. Have them win those titles. Give them a long run of 4-5 months, with weekly or bi-monthly defenses to exhibit the skill of Sin Cara. Then, have them lose the titles, with Rey being the one to get pinned. Have Sin Cara turn on Rey for costing him the title, his first title in the WWE. Feud from there, have Sin Cara defeat Rey in a loser leaves the WWE match.

I would have him go one on one with Chavo Guerrero in a back and forth match(no squash match coz the WWE fans need to see what this kid can do) then after he beats Chavo let him challenge Rey Mysterio and say the only reason he came to the WWE was to battle Rey Rey. Then let them build up to the PPV each gettin wins over sd stars the next 2 weeks kinda one upin each other untill the SD be4 the PPV(whatever one it might be) put them in a tag match teaming together and in the match have them bump in to each other costing them the match. Then face off boom ppv match which just would be gold in my opinion Mysterio vs Sin Sara with Mysterio getting the first win then let them face off a couple of PPVs with each time Sin gettn closer to victory untill he wins!

Sin Cara ( Mistico ) is a great talent, the guy has super blazing speed in the ring, he is world known ( Mexico & Japan ). Most People don't even remember that in 2007 WWE offer him a contract but he wanted to honor his CMLL contract, that tells you the type of person the wwe just got. He should debut as a tag partner for REY and have them save the tag division till its time for Rey to retire. They can feud for Rey last 2 months of his career. Rey can put him over big times losing his last match and mask to Sin Cara and His 1st English words can be " now I have a face & my name is Mistico."

With a name like Sin Cara, I can picture him as a heel. He could come in to feud with Rey Mysterio.

He never been a heel and he is a hero in Mexico and Japan and WWE wants to cash in on does 2 markets. Rey doesn't have much left so if they team Mistico gets his feet wet and Rey gets one last run as a champ even if its the tag belts. Imagine the feuds they can have with the Uso's & Los Aviadores. Sin Cara is ready for the WWE wrestling wise but not for the mic, so don't be surprise if hey and Rey form a team.

like some posters already mentioned I would have him work a program with rey wich in the end would culminate into a match of epic proportions against one another. I would have sin cara go over and then hopefully his carreer could launch from there. They would both be face tough , because I wouldnt want sin cara to be heel. I wouldnt want sin cara heel because he probably has a chance to become as marketable as rey is once rey leaves. If rey isnt available at the the time, i would show promos of him each week on both raw and smackdown to introduce the audience to him. Then put him in a money in the bank match (with out anybody knowing he will make a suprise debut) which he wins and shocks the world. Hoping of course that the fans get behind him after seeing the stunts he can pull in the ring.

WWE seems to have big plans for him. My vision is that they have videos hyping his impending arrival playing on Raw and Smackdown from now until and including WM 27. Instead of throwing him into a major storyline right away, start him off slow and steadily build him up to the WWE Universe. Keep him winning and maybe have him challenge for the I-C title at SummerSlam.

I hate it when they try to do too much too soon with superstars and either they can't live up to the hype they're given or fans get sick of them too fast.

I know some people would like him and Rey Misterio as a tag team, but I'd like to see him and Rey go against each other at WM 28, with Rey "passing the torch" to him.

I would think this would be sometime after Wrestlemania...
Have him debut unannounced, as neither face nor heel on smackdown against chavo guerrero in a strong match and come out on top with a quick roll up.

Next week have chavo come out and talk about him, and trash him a little bit in the stupid way that chavo does, have sin come out and fight him again, this time in a more squash match, showcasing a few of his signatures, and new finisher.

Next week, have him on raw against a returning evan bourne, and have a good match, but lose.

THEN, have rey mysterio cut a promo about him, saying he likes his style, and would like to challenge him to a match. He comes out, they have a pretty good match, and sin cara almost wins with new finisher, but reverses into 619, and mysterio wins, as he walks up the ramp all hurty and grabbing his ribs, he turns back and smiles towards the ring.

Then afterward I imagine a PPV happening and they have a match that was put on the card at the "last minute". Have mysterio just barely win again in some crazy fashion, then cut a quick promo saying he likes sin cara a lot, and says he has mad respect for him.

Following week on smackdown, have mysterio say he wants to talk to sin, and have sin cara come out and chat with him in mexican, and mysterio reveals that sin doesnt know much english. Mysterio offers to tutor sin, and they have a lengthy title run.

Afterwards, I just don't want them to have the lame break up where one is mad at the other for losing the match, then turns heel. I say make sin cara do something crazy to become a heel, something that would make him stand out as pretty intense.

i think it would be great if they debuted him with a manager. Someone like Armando Estrata. He was great for Umaga and someone like him could speak for Sin Cara. It would fit his mysterious masked look and he could obviously back up the managers words in the ring. I hope that they made his signing so public so they could throw him into Wrestlemania. Just imagine SIN CARA VS DANIEL BRYAN. epic match

Tough little question actually. Having never seen any of this guys work before tonight I would have him come in as a face of course(his style is too entertaining to be a WWE heel). I know alot ot people are saying team him with Rey, or team him with Chavo... but I'm going to take a slightly different approach. I say wait until after WM, then start running promos and videos hyping his debut, but not at random times... Run them during matches. More specifically, during Del Rio matches. I know I know, Del Rio is in the ME picture right now but hear me out. Have Sin's hype promos during Del Rio's matches and by default distract Del Rio causing him to lose matches. Del Rio would get irate and want a peice of this newcomer. Humor me from this point out please. Next, have Del Rio defend the title at... and it suck that this is the only possible PPV really... Extreme Rules(yes he'd have lost matches, but not title matches) against whoever.. probably edge, and have SIN come out and cost Del Rio the title. Now yes, Del Rio would of course get the rematch, but have Sin cost him that one as well.

After Extreme Rules, have a series of matches with Sin and Del Rio in which they both get to really show off their lucha libre styles. Yes, I know this sucks, but that's why I am no booker.

On a side note, after watching many videos of Mistico, I am very worried about his chances of having a great carreer in the WWE. With the exception of Rey, it is no secret that the high flying, little guys have a tough time getting to that next level. So regardless of how they debut him, he may find himself stuck in the midcard for his carreer like so many other talented high flyers.

Personally, I think it's important that they make him a face for debut. He's essentially being brought in to replace Rey Mysterio in many ways and a heel Sin Cara doesn't do that.

So, he either teams with Rey Mysterio or he comes in to battle del Rio. Just makes sense with the already-established connection. However, both minimize him as I doubt he goes over del Rio and a tag run is difficult to pull off with a weak division.

So, I'd say that they use some vignettes and build him up, then just have him come out and wrestle his ass off. He's got the goods. Best way for him to get over that doesn't pigeon hole him or limit him and that doesn't have him coming out the loser.

Uh, I hate to break it to you but Mistico has been rudo before. He turned on Volador Jr. and teamed with his long time rival Averno. But back on topic...

I would book Mistico, Sin Caras, Sin Cara, whatever you want to call him... I'd book him as a successor to Mysterio. I'd have them have a mentor-student type of deal, move to tag titles, then have them lose the belts, lose the rematch, and ultimately have a match between the two of them to retire Mysterio. Mistico moves much better than Rey has EVER moved in his WWE career (and arguably in his career ever) and with a simple masked/mysterious gimmick; I see him getting over REALLY easily with his lucha abilities.

First I know nothing about him but did I read that he can't speak English? How can he possibly get over by not even speaking? you have to have a voice. who can manage or speak for him then?

Bring back Joey Styles.
