Match of the Week

I loved the Morrison/Rhodes match from Smackdown last night. Rhodes may have the look that DiBiase seems to have but I believe he is a far better wrestler than Ted at this stage. Rhodes impressed me with his high-flying moves as well as his technical moves and Morrison wasn't too shabby. The Crossroads look sicked and Cody deserved to win as he was the new talent on the show. I couldn't really tell from the crowd if Rhodes is a face or a heel but I'm expecting big things down the road from him.

Well the CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio was the best match from Extreme Rules. I was just so entertained by it and it never once bored me. It was a lot better than their WrestleMania match as it was given a lot more time. There was some very entertaining spots and I really dug the near falls. I'm glad Punk got the win as it seemed as if he hadn't had a win in a long time and could of hurt him.

The best match on tv was probably the Rhodes vs Morrison match. Both men put a lot of effort in and it really paid off. I'm glad Cody got the win as it gives him some Bragging Rights so he can stay in the mid card and not turn into a jobber. I was kind of worried about him as I wasn't sure if he could handle being a lone but I'm not worried and cannot wait until he hasa feud with someone.

I'm going with Kofi Kingston VS Dolph Ziggler from Smackdown. This was a good match, and for some reason, I always tend to enjoy tournament matches. I'm a fan of Ziggler's, and a part of me kind of wishes he would've won this match because he's been chasing the IC title forever. Still, I'm glad to see Kofi get off to a good start on Smackdown.

Kofi moves on to the finals to face Christian for the vacant IC title, and I can't wait to see this match next week.

While I agree with you Mitch, it was a decent match, I would like to consider Christian vs Cody Rhodes to be the superior match of this week, it had strong showings from both, and I think it was incredibly well handled to make Cody look strong, while putting Christian into the finals.

Christian is one of the ultimate enhancement talents of WWE right now, or in the business as a total, he's the go to guy if you want to have a great match, and be put over to look strong, even if you win, or you loose, Christian will prove to be a gateway for guys to enter the Main Event eventually, and I hope Christian will ultimately gateway himself to the Main Event.

Christian vs Cody Rhodes wins this week's match of the week by a long shot, perfectly handled, great spots, overall the greatest of the week.

I don't know, I have the feeling I didn't watch much wrestling this week at all. Probably because I didn't. Impact was a travesty, I'm not even going to go there. I remember watching Cena/Barrett and Ryder/Henry on Raw. Both were quite shit. I didn't watch NXT, but can only assume it was terrible beyond belief. I did, however catch the Christian/Rhodes match on SD. Best Rhodes match ever? Very likely. I suppose its going to get my choice here, as a result.

I have to go with Rhodes and Christian this week. Like GD said, that is probably the best match Cody has ever had and I am happy about his future. Christian always has excellent matches and this was one of them. There were some good spots, some great wrestling, no botches and was given a good amount of time. I would of loved to see this at Over The Limit but I am still happy with what I saw.

Ziggler vs Kofi was also very good with both men looking great. It's a shame Ziggler didn't win as he's came so close but I'm looking forward to him finally getting his hands on the title.

Overall some great matches on Smackdown which made up for pretty shitty matches on Raw and TNA.

I think it was Bryan vs. Batista. Nothing really stood out to me this week, except that match. I didn't watch Smackdown, as on Friday's I have stuff to do, and Raw wasn't very memorable matchwise, so I give it to a match where Bryan go to show his stuff against one of the company's top guys for 5 minutes.

I have to choose between one of the IC semifinals on SD.In my eyes Kofi/Mr.Ziggles match had a better work rate , But for a couple of reasons I go with Christian vs. Rhodes

1-I think Kofi Ziggler shouldn't have applied Sleeper.I think they were in middle of pushing Sleeper as a dangerous weapon for Dolph , It was not wise to let someone escape it this soon.

2 - Cody Rhodes. He is a damn good wrestler.I'm happy that he is on Smackdown cuz at least he can wrestle lengthy matches with people like Morrison or Christian.i think he's way too much better than Dibiase , It seems his size is the problem in WWE's eyes , which i think he can over come by wearing pants like the ones HBK wore.

So MOTW : Christian vs. Cody Rhodes

Strong week for matches, especially Smackdown.

While CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio, yet again amazed us with yet another great match, I'm not going with that one, I'm gonna be going with Kofi Kingston vs Christian

Kofi and Christian, two great athletes they have on the roster right now, never disappointing to say the least when it comes to putting on a good match, very back and forth, actually had me in doubt who was gonna win this one, but ultimately, I liked how it turned out, and it was definitely the match of the week.

Completely agree. Christian/Kofi definetly felt like a PPV match this week and was of that quality as well. It's amazing how good a show can be simply by giving it a solid midcard. Smackdown, just like last year, has been on fire since the draft.

Both Raw and Impact gave us little to nothing wrestling wise, and NXT wasn't all that hot either. Seems like easy pickings this week.

Yeah, I've definitely got to give it to Kofi and Christian, though Mysteiro and Punk weren't far behind. I'm wondering if Kofi getting screwed out of the title is the beginning of a potential heel turn for him.

So Sacrifice was on Sunday. I heard AJ/RVD was pretty good, but TNA doesn't deserve any recognition at the moment, so it's out of the running. Same with whatever the hell happened on Impact, although Chelsea/Abyss may put out some classics soon.

I actually missed most of what was the "good" part of Raw, (Edge/Christian, Swagger/Orton, Cena/Sheamus), all of which were apparently good.

I did watch Smackdown though, and Swagger/Kofi was one hell of a match. Swagger is proving he can work great with pretty much anybody, as he's had good to great matches with more than a handful of guys already in his short career. Continues to show why he's may favorite wrassler out there.

I didn't watch Sacrifice, so I'm going to have to go with Edge Vs Christian from Raw. This was a pretty good match, and I was shocked to see this happen so soon. After the heated segment between these two on Smackdown a while back, I thought WWE would wait longer to build a feud between these two. I also thought it would be a long time before we saw these two wrestle each other. Seeing this on free tv was definitely a treat.

Although, it was kind of weird seeing Undertaker come down and chokeslam Edge after the match was over. I know he's Taker, but still, the whole thing just seemed weird to me.

This week was amazing for wrestling, especially RAW in my mind, where I am completely fucking torn between Swagger vs Orton and Edge vs Christian.

But I'm gonna end up saying Edge vs Christian, because that has got to be one of the best back and forth hold for hold matches I have seen performed in a very long time, and from a fan point without even thinking about the match in itself and how it went, this one was BY FAR the most exciting match, which had me on the edge of my seat the whole damn time, only to watch Edge spear the living shit out of Christian, I think it could've been more awesome although if Christian had won, but in the end, this match, the winner to me was like "who gives a shit?" it was simply that epic.

Edge and Christian for match of the week.

I would have to say that the Match of the week for me is Edge vs Christian! I've always wanted to see them as a team again but I think a feud is even better. Even though I don't think it is a feud yet because Edge has a Feud with Orton and Christian is in Smackdown this match has been the best one this week. The crowd was cheering for both of them because it is their hometown and it was a really close match with edge winning it in the end.

This week I'm going to have to go with AJ Styles VS Mr.Anderson. I really enjoyed this match. The way AJ won was just great. I'm curious to see where TNA plans on going with his face turn, because the handshake with Hardy was another step in "the good guy direction".

Undertaker VS Rey Mysterio from Smackdown was also a good match, and I came very close to picking this as match of the week. Taker is officially back in action now, and he looked pretty sharp in the ring tonight.

While I have to admit I didn't watch TNA, so I'm gonna be blank on the awesomeness of that match according to Mitch.

I have two voting "scenarios" where as if we count Sunday for this week, then I will vote for John Cena vs Batista to be match of the week, it was pretty good for an I quit match, had some great spots.

But if we're voting on the week being Monday -> now, I will have to vote for the Triple Threat at RAW, John Cena vs Edge vs Chris Jericho, it was very well placed, some good finishers going off here and there, and I have to admit I wasn't sure who would walk out the victor in this match, which just made it that much more awesome.

Honorable mentions:
Jack Swagger and Drew McIntyre vs Big Show and Kofi Kingston.
CM Punk vs Kane
Christian and Hornswoggle vs Chavo Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler (hell this one could've been my choice for match of the week, if it wasn't cause Hornswoggle was actually in there, ruined the whole damn thing instead of giving the match, 2-3 minutes more of someone else than Hornswoggle in the ring, it was a good match, but, yeah, Hornswoggle ruins pretty much any potential for it.)

Ya, Sunday counts. Over the Limit was quite shit and forgettable, but you can always rely on CM Punk and Rey Mysterio to deliver, which they did. I'd definetly say it was the best match of the PPV, and of the week as well.

Didn't watch all of Raw, but did see the main event, which was alright, I guess. Nothing special though. If Danielson beating the shit out of Cole was a match, I'd have voted for that in a second. AJ/Anderson was ok, but nothing that great. This completely rushed face turn is pretty fucking stupid as well. Didn't watch SD either, so yeah.

Punk/Mysterio it is for me as it was the only thing that really stood out this week.

This week I'm going with the tag team match from Raw between Cena & Evan Bourne VS Sheamus & Edge. This was a very exciting match. There was also the match between Daniel Byran and The Miz. I know this one was pretty quick, but it was cool to see Byran beat Miz. Even if he did catch a beat down after the match. Rey Mysterio won the Smackdown battle royal, but there was nothing special about that match. It was just like any other battle royal. Also, the IC title match between Drew and Kofi was pretty decent.

I liked the match between Jeff Hardy and James Storm on Impact, and Roode VS Anderson was okay. Some of the matches on Impact were pretty solid this week, but I really didn't care for the fatal four way main event.

My choice for match of the week is Chris Jericho vs R-Truth, it was a pretty good match, both have a good talent to put on these matches, and I was happy for once to see R-Truth win a match without using that overrated move.

It was a pretty good back and forth match, nothing out of the ordinary of what these two can perform, but nonetheless it was my favorite match of the week.

Honorary mentions would have to be the tag team match from this weeks RAW, and perhaps the match between Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre last night.

I actually did some proper watching this week, including all of Raw and NXT and about half of Impact. I'm quite glad I did, as most everything was pretty good this week.

The Raw main event was the highlight though, with a fantastic crowd and Evan Bourne surprisingly looking good. Cena can be frustrating at times, but at others he's just fun as hell to watch. Edge missing the spear adding some comedy to it as well.

Storm/Hardy was surprisingly decent as well. Hardy still doesn't look nearly as good as he did in the WWE, but he's not horrible by any stretch, based on the fact he was actually able to make Storm look interesting.

I think I'm going to have to go with the Raw main event with John Cena & Evan Bourne vs. Edge & Sheamus. It was a really good match and the crowd was just super hot for what was going on. Evan Bourne looked like a million bucks in the match and the crowd was eating it up. Bourne has been over with Raw viewers for a while, even when he's been used as a jobber, and the reaction of the crowd coupled with Bourne's rub just put the match over the top I think.

While I enjoyed most of the matches on Smackdown and a a few from iMPACT!, I think the suprise factor for the Raw main event made it feel special. I didn't expect Evan Bourne to be Cena's partner and it was great to see him get a big moment and big pinfall on a former WWE Champion.

I'm going to have to go with CM Punk VS John Cena this week. The match itself was actually pretty solid, but what happened afterwards was very shocking. The NXT invasion was something none of us saw coming, and I'm sure this will set up a huge storyline.

Jack Swagger VS Rey Mysterio from Smackdown was another honorable mention for this week. This match was fast paced, and it did a good job at building the hype for the world title match at Fatal 4 Way. Big Show VS CM Punk was okay, and Dolph Ziggler VS Christian was a nice match. It was different to see Christian get the win the sunset splash, because we usually see him end a match with the killswitch/unprettier.

I'm gonna throw it the totally opposite way of you Mitch, I'm voting Jack Swagger vs Rey Mysterio as match of the week. It was pretty solid and very back and forth, I don't think Rey should have won it although, but that's not gonna swerve the fact that I found it to be an overall great match that made Jack look at least a little bit strong.

Jack could've used a bit of looking stronger going into Fatal Four Way, WWE has failed to make him look strong going into any of the Pay Per Views really, and it's a shame.

My honorable mention would then be John Cena vs CM Punk, it was very good back and forth, made CM Punk look good against John, I loved the kick to the back of the head he performed, looked legit.
John also came out looking good wrestling wise in this match if you ask me, he's not totally lost behind the wagon as people would like to think.

What kills John vs CM Punk for me was the fact that we had the NXT interference, I loved the interference and what came after it, but the match in it self got hurt by having an interference ending.

I didn't watch nearly enough this week, I'd say. Swagger/Rey was probably good, since Swagger kicks ass. Good choice, at least I'm assuming.

I'll have to go with Angle/Amazing Red from Impact. I quite like both of those guys and Red's flippys get me every time. Really, good stuff. Predictable match and all, but still fun.
