Match 1: Rob Van Dam and Sabu vs. The Holly Cousins

R.V.D. & Sabu get my vote.

The Holly Cousins barely made a splash, as a Tag team or two single's wrestlers. Even if this match could begin evenly with all indivdiuals, the Holly's would screw themselves out of the match when they ended up feuding with each other. That was their thing.

Just because this match is contested under regular rules doesn't give the Holly's an advantage. R.V.D. made a good career in the W.W.E. under "rules" being applied. Sabu had a decent run in the W.W.E.C.W. as well, and that was contested under rules as well.

In the end, Crash Holly is the weak link, and Hardcore isn't enough to even out those odds. R.V.D. and Sabu in what should be a squash.

With a vote of 17-4, RVD and Sabu advance to the 2nd round of the tournament over the Holly Cousins.

My Review: This was the right pick. Sabu and RVD are often criticized for being spot monkeys. I would rather be criticized for being a spot monkey then be criticized for being a 15 year veteran with a company and doing absolutely zero for that company.

The Holly's are terrible, no two way saround it. To use the argument of RVD and Sabu were only good in ECW, and praise the Holly's who are only known for their stints with the Hardcore title is a terrible argument.

I don't think you're giving Crash enough credit ther Shocky. If anything he's dragged down by Hardcore.
